Chapter Nine
Pria smiled after shefinished her meal.“Remind me to thank Ysell. She caught on to the issue right away.”
“She actually just wanted to show you the village. She didn’t know you were blind with hunger.”
Pria looked at Riro.“I identified the most edible citizens on the way there.”
“Oh.Right.That could have been concerning.”
“I should have gone back in the water.”
“No, you should have done what you did.You told Cabree what you needed, and she brought it.”
He lifted her and set her on his lap.“I can’t believe I almost missed your gills opening.”
“It was just me breathing and then that bright kaboom.”
“Yes, that bright kaboom was your official greeting to the ocean. You should have been naked to do it properly.”
“Will the ocean be offended?”
He chuckled.“We can make up for that lapse by swimming naked, a lot.”
“That will be fun for the tourists.”
He laughed.“They come every two weeks.I am also upset that I didn’t see you water dance.”
“If you find a quiet spot, I can do that naked as well.”
“Cabree told me that I should ask you to folk dance.”
“Oh, that’s a land thing.”
He kissed her neck.“Can you give me a hint?”
“Look up Sethir folk dance.”
He lifted his hand and looked it up.He was very still and nodded a little.“It’s very pretty.”
“Now look at Krefal Sethir folk dance.”
He did and said, “That’s different.”
“Well, dating isn’t a thing back home, so you have to dance to find a partner. The guys have their own version.”
“And you can dance like that?”
“Sure.Cabree has some footage. She taught me to couples’ dance, and I tried to teach her some of the folk dancing, but her lower back was aching by then.”
He kept watching.“Yeah, it would. If I get you these clothes, or an island version of it, would you dance for me?”
“Folk dancing is a public thing.”
