He turned toward her and said, “I suppose I should kneel.”He knelt.“How about now?”

She blinked.“They didn’t cover this in the instructions.”

“How did your parents marry?”

“They were assigned as partners by their parents.It was arranged.They got along pretty well.”

“So, would you consider arranging yourself with me?”

“I did that this morning, and the end result was damp underwear.”

He grinned.“Come, my little shark.There is no one better for me than you, and I have a wedding gift for you that would have driven my father insane.”

“Oh, do tell.”

“You have to say yes first.”His eyes were sparkling.

“Yes?”

“Not enthusiastic, but I will take it.”He took her hands and kissed them.“We will arrange the jewellery this afternoon.”

“It is traditional to make sure that the bride-to-be is clearly marked.”

“Why?”

“So that other males know if they try anything, you are going to do that trick with the water jet.By the way, the Hyreno king was suitably appalled.”

She grinned.“You just made my day.”

“It is my half-brother now, but it was still funny.The five Hyreno that we found are all doing well.”

“Good.Now, my betrothed, feed me.”

He grinned and lifted her, spinning her around.She was really happy about the high ceilings.
