She leaned back and frowned. “I don’t have you.
You are you, and I am me. I got an invitation to the casino, thought it was funny, and stupidly told you what I am.
If I hadn’t said it, you wouldn’t have known, and I would have trotted back to the boat without you knowing anything.
But I don’t get out much, and I was really uncomfortable dealing with an adult male active who was fondling two pets that I ran off at the mouth, and I just did it again. ”
He nodded slowly. “So, you...”
“Have an enhanced sense of smell. Yes. The entire area reeked of sex, and I don’t like being in places like that.” She poked him in the chest. “And that is your place where you work and do whatever, so you can go right back there.”
He frowned and looked like he was getting mad at her. She felt her heart speeding up and tried to move away from him. He held her, and she breathed fast. The door slammed open, and water wrapped around them, pushing him away and pulling Cabree toward the door.
Cabree was being held and hugged by a column of water. Pria walked up to the naked and angry Denog. “Stop. Scaring. Her. She was assaulted by an active, or hadn’t you picked up on that?”
Denog froze, and Cabree bit her lip. They hadn’t discussed it, but Pria had gotten some hints. She was obviously intuitive, and Cabree felt like an idiot. She didn’t talk about it. Even Zera only had the broad strokes.
Cabree whispered, “I didn’t tell you that.”
Pria sighed. “I have seen the look in your eyes before, but the female attacked was a physical active, so she got away. I can tell you didn’t.” She looked at Denog. “Calm now?”
“Yes. Cabree, I had no idea.”
Pria removed the water. “Don’t go for clothes, Cabree. It’s the last thing you want to do.”
“Why?”
“No shame in reacting the way you do. I still get queasy with I see a rising wave. That is why the cruise. Face my demons.” Pria glanced at Cabree, “I mean, my demons don’t have eternal boners, but you deal with what you are dealt. Are we good?” She looked between them.
Denog nodded. “We are good.”
Cabree smiled nervously. “Good. Sorry to have set the alarm off like that.”
“No problem. It got me out of some weird flirtation with Riro.” Pria winked and slapped Cabree’s butt with a loud smack as she left the door and closed it behind her.
Cabree walked back to the bed and turned her head. Denog sat next to her and took her hand. “So, I think we need to have a chat.”
Cabree exhaled. “About the...” He nodded.
“Well, I went into the program early, studied, and what happened happens a lot, apparently. An active took an interest in me because I looked like suit bait. I said no; he persisted. I said no again. He continued. And then... I said no when he was in front of his buddies. He was a speedster and ran with me until I passed out, and I woke up with him on top of me in the next country. He finished, got up, saw blood, and laughed. Then, he left me there and ran home. I got up and called a friend for help. She called another friend, and I was soon being carried to a med facility for treatment.”
She clenched her hand on his. “Apparently, I didn’t speak for twelve days, but the male in question was stupid enough to grab me in a public space.”
“Is he still around?” Denog asked innocently.
Cabree smiled slowly. “No. He disappeared on vacation and was never seen again. It was a relief.”
“Ah. Too bad. What do you think happened to him?”
“I think he’s in low orbit and due for re-entry sometime in the next decade.” She smiled.
“Who was the friend of the friend?”
“He’s on one of the teams. It was a favour to my friend, and I know he was paid for the favour. Frequently.” She chuckled.
“He was paid for homicide? That must have been pricey.”
“Well, we don’t know for sure that he is dead. He may have had a secondary activation not to need to breathe. We will find out when he’s back in the atmosphere.”
Denog chuckled. “So, you have an alarm set?”
“Yes. It isn’t that I am in danger; it is that my PTSD perceives a danger based on logical conclusions.”
“Like, angry, active male.”
“Yeah. That gets a jump on the panic right away.”
“Because he shouted before he attacked.”
“Correct.” She tapped her nose with her free hand.
He paused. “But when I get loud during sex, that is fine.”
“Yes.”
“And you don’t like an area that smells like sex?”
“I don’t like an area that smells like other people having sex.”
Understanding struck. “You are monogamous.”
“Yeah. Tacky. I know.”
“But you know I am not.”
“Which is why we don’t match.”
“But you can have sex with me.”
“Sure. I am still monogamous.”
He frowned.
“What if I drag a male active home and start banging them in the living room? Or even just let another guy take blood in front of you?”
He looked furious.
She wrinkled her nose. “See? What you have there is hypocrisy.”
Understanding dawned. “Oh. Shit.”
“Yeah. I don’t think you are up for that kind of thing.
I want to find a nice guy. Have little active babies who don’t have weird blood.
Or I just realized that I can go with semen donation and not have to deal with anyone.
Cool. Thanks for helping me talk that out.
Maybe I can buy a place in Riro’s islands?
That would work. I could catch a likely tourist and use them for genetic material. ”
He sighed and pulled her onto his lap. “Shush, Cabree. You are babbling again.”
She curled against him, and he was super comfortable. He wrapped her in his arms and kissed the top of her head. “You just gave me a lot to think about.”
“About you as a donor? I don’t know. What’s your family history?” She looked up at him, and he was grinning.
“You would have my child?”
“If I could, I don’t know if I can. My blood is a little odd.”
She opened her mouth to talk again, but he kissed her and pulled her back as he flopped onto the bed. She giggled and asked, “Really?”
“If you could have a troubling first time and still trust enough to enjoy yourself, then I can consider a life where I have a family at the end of the day.”
“I am not asking you to change anything.” She shifted to lie on top of him.
He ran a hand under her hair. “I am asking it of myself. It is what I would lose versus what I gain. I am thinking of the cost-benefit analysis.”
She grinned. “Casinos are in finance, after all.”
“Yes, we are.” He draped her thighs to either side of him and bent her legs until she was on him like a frog. It left her flexed and open, so he wiggled up until his erection was nudging at her.
She frowned. “I am not sure what... I can’t do anything from here.”
He chuckled. “Wait until you are ready.”
“What?”
He lifted her to brace her hands on his shoulders and then leaned up and sucked on her breasts, going from left to right and back again. She tried to control her breathing, but she felt the slick emerging and painting the head of his cock.
He kept going, and his mouth stretched wide, causing her to inhale and lock up as she started shuddering.
She panted, and the dripping continued. He wrapped his arms around her and slowly sat up.
He nudged in her opening and then slid into her as he relaxed his grip, and her weight pulled her onto him.
He grinned and slid his hands under her thighs. “Ready?”
She squeaked in surprise, and he started moving her on him. She really hoped that the sound didn’t carry. “Ready.”
