NADINE

Chewing on the corner of my thumb, my leg shakes under my desk. He’s coming for me. I know that he is. There is absolutely nothing that I can do to stop him either. He’s going to come and find me.

It doesn’t matter that I changed everything about my life and did it in a way where he shouldn’t have been able to find me.

It doesn’t matter who my brother is.

He isn’t scared of anyone, not even the president of the Night Devils MC. It doesn’t matter that I work for the best security firm in the country, either. He will stop at nothing, and yet I keep trying to run in some fool-hearty attempt at saving myself.

Closing my eyes, I slip my thumb from my mouth and let out a long sigh. I wish that there was a way that I could truly make it to where he could never find me again. If there were a way that I could disappear into thin air, I would. But I already tried erasing my identity. And he found me.

He hasn’t made himself known yet, but my body instinctively feels when Landon Tate is nearby. Every hair on the back of my neck stands at attention. He’s somewhere close by. He’s watching me, waiting for a moment of weakness.

That’s when he attacks when his victim is at their weakest.

And it seems that I’m his favorite weak target because he keeps coming back to me, keeps finding me, and keeps hurting me. Over and over again. There is a noise in the office hallway, and my spine straightens.

I don’t know why, but I expect Landon to walk into the room, but he doesn’t. Letting out a sigh of relief and, at the same time, clenching my thighs, I watch as Grayson walks through the hallway and into the room.

Sucking in a breath, I watch as he makes his way over to my desk. He stops directly in front of me. Slowly, I tilt my head back to look up into his eyes. He smirks down at me, his gaze dancing as it moves across my face.

“Hey, Nadine,” he says, his voice smooth as butter. I can’t help but wonder if his tongue would feel the same way… against my clit.
