Page 19 of His Aries Heiress (BLP Signs of Love #21)
Six months later…
Give an Aries nothing and watch her turn it into everything.
Marcellus tapped his fingers on the glass table as he listened to people drone on about their reports for the month. Same shit, different month. These council meetings hadn’t gotten any better for him over the past year, but he had learned to endure them better and pay better attention.
As the new head of all security for the underground elite in the nation, he needed to be privy to everything that was going on. It was his job to keep everyone safe, and he took his job seriously.
He glanced to the right of him, where she always was. The true definition of a right-hand woman. His queen. The way he loved Cassydie needed to be studied. He fell hard and fast for her, but he wouldn’t trade it for the world.
He reached out and palmed her stomach, though there were no signs of his seed . . . yet. He definitely planted that mothafucka though.
She discreetly swatted his hand away, and he chuckled. She didn’t want to tell anyone until she was out of her first trimester. If it was up to him, he would shout the shit from the damn mountaintops, but he respected her way too much to step on her toes about this.
“You love birds done makin’ googly eyes at each other? Heiress, you’re up,” Pop said in irritation.
Marcellus chuckled and stuck his middle finger up at Pop.
Not much got to him to the point of making a comment anymore.
All the banter he had these days was lighthearted unless he really had to get active, which wasn’t much anymore.
He seemed to drop the urge to react to every little thing, and the peace he found after doing that was unmatched.
He resisted the urge to slap Cassydie’s fat ass as she stood up.
The streets didn’t know her name, and Marcellus was happy with that.
Unlike him, she kept a low profile, just how he wanted it for his woman.
The whispers in the streets were limited to one name.
Or maybe it was more of a title. The Aries Heiress.
Heiress, as the council liked to call her.
Long gone was the broken woman he’d met months ago. In her place was a woman who had been through hell and back and survived. The pride he felt while looking at her was immense.
He chuckled as he thought about her new name.
The Aries Heiress. She really took that zodiac shit and ran with it, but it fit her well.
She was an Aries, and she was an heiress, comfortably sitting on the throne that was her birthright.
Though he was groomed to think that would be his throne one day, he was happy it wasn’t.
Locking down security for all the major players in the game was much more his speed. Every execution made on the executive level had to go through him, and sometimes, he loved playing God in that way.
Everything worked out. While he watched his woman work the room, he realized he was ready to put a fat ass rock on her finger.
He didn’t care nothing about her wanting to take shit slow anymore.
They’d made things official a few months back, finally, and they’d taken the time to get adjusted to their new lives.
Tato adjusted really well to the news of Marcellus being his father, and he knew he owed that all to Cassydie.
She helped bridge that gap in a way he could never.
Now, Tato had a mother figure for the first time in his life, and he could just about fall to his knees and praise God for that alone.
Cassydie helped him grow up in the best ways, and it was time to lock her pretty ass down on some real shit. He grinned as he thought about it. He knew one thing would remain true, no matter what the future held. She would forever and always be His Aries Heiress.
The End.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you liked this story as much as I liked writing it.
