Her chest rises and falls rapidly. “What am I going to say?”

“That itwasa mistake. But like fucking hell it was. You know it, and I know it. There’s something between us.” I motion back and forth with my hand.

She looks around, her face flushing deeper, then lowers her voice. “Mr. Freeman, can we discuss this in private?”

“Excellent idea. Dinner, tonight.”

She starts to protest, so I hold my hand up, stopping her. “Dinner.” I keep my eyes locked with hers until she finally acquiesces and nods once.

I walk back into my office with a spring in my step. You’re mine, Addison Snyder.

* * *

It has beenthe day from hell. I can’t wait to get out of here and be able to spend the night with Addison. It has been non-stop calls and meeting invites all day. The only real highlight of the day was getting a little more information onRISE. It’s not much, but another breadcrumb is better than nothing. I’m too stubborn to let that shit go. I shut my computer down and step into the hallway.

“Ready?”

Addison’s big green eyes look up at me and then back to her screen. “This isn’t a good idea, Mr. Freeman.”

“What’s the harm? Don’t you socialize with coworkers outside of work? What makes me any different? Besides, you said we should talk in private. We can have dinner at my place if that makes it more private?”God, I’d love to have her at my place.

She stares up at me with wide eyes and gives a subtle shake of her head. “You’re the owner of the company and my boss. I’m sure there are a million things written in the handbook about not dating those you manage.”

There are. I had them added when I took over, but I can always amend it later. “We aren’t dating. I told you earlier, you need to eat and so do I. Plus, we have unfinished business to discuss.”

Addy has the nerve to roll her eyes at me, and I want to pull her over my lap and spank her ass for it. Just the thought makes my dick twitch in my pants. I let out a low, quiet growl, and she quirks her eyebrow at me in question. She pulls her phone out of her pocket, sends a message, and shuts down her computer.

She slides out from behind her desk and walks to the elevator with me following close behind. The doors slide open in front of us, and as they close, I’m hit with the familiar feeling of want all over again. She’s put herself in the corner, away from me, like a scared kitten. Her fitted black dress hugs her curves, and I’m itching to put my hands on her. Ineedher.

I step into her space, caging her in with my hands on either side of her head. She looks into my eyes, and I see her desire pooling behind her beautiful green orbs.

“What if someone catches us?” she whispers. The fact she’s worried about it almost makes me laugh. Right now, the building could be on fire, and I wouldn’t give a shit.

“They won’t.”

She places her small hand over my chest, and I swear my heart is going to explode. I see her pulse quickening in her throat and lean my head into her neck, inhaling her divine scent. She whimpers and her knees buckle ever so slightly. I reach my hand around her waist, steadying her as my lips brush against her silky skin.

“How do you do this to me?” I ask, placing a gentle kiss on her throbbing pulse. She closes her eyes and tilts her head back, a quiet moan passing her lips.

The elevator glides to a stop, and I step away from her right before the doors open. I’m so fucking hard it’s painful. I want to take her home, strap her to my bed, and do all sorts of unimaginable things to her.I bet she likes it rough.

She stands there, frozen in place, and I put my hand on the door, waiting for her to exit. “You coming?”

She finally manages to walk out, and I wave to the security guard as I guide her out of the building, my hand on her lower back. We walk a few blocks until we stop outside ofFirefly, and I open the door for her. The lights inside are dim, and I know she will appreciate the cloak of darkness.

I pull her seat out like a true gentleman before taking my own seat across from her. We put in drink orders, and the waiter leaves us again. The silence stretches between us until our drinks are placed in front of us. She takes a sip of her wine and looks anywhere but at me.

“Addy, how did you end up atRISE?”

She presses her lips into a flat line. “I told you, does it really matter?”

I fist my hand, trying to keep my anger in check. I know what happens at places like that. She’s too sweet and would be used and abused there. “That place isn’t safe. The guys that go to a place like that, they aren’t all good.”

She scoffs and takes another sip of her drink as she looks around. “It’s a lot safer than you think,” she mumbles.

When the waiter comes back, I could kill him for interrupting us. I glare at him, and he says something about giving us more time before scurrying away again.

“I don’t want you there. I know what men do to the girls there, and it’s not safe for you. Promise me you won’t go back.”
