Page 61 of Her Wicked Husband (The Huxleys #2)

Fiona

The strains of “Here Comes the Bride” soar to the sky. My heart flutters, full of anticipation and joy.

The groom—my husband—stands on the other side of our gorgeous yard, surrounded by Fiona roses in full bloom, their aroma sweetening the air.

Next to him as his groomsmen are his brothers. Lareina is my maid of honor—the only one. I don’t have any friends and no one from the Obermans is here. But that’s okay, because I’m surrounded by people who want the best for me.

I wanted the ceremony small and intimate, just family. Catalina sighs with a huge smile. Prescott and Akiko sit together, watching me get ready to march to their son. Jeremiah nods, but she isn’t the most emotive type. Bryce’s cousin came also with his wife.

Isn’t this perfect?

Bryce smiles brilliantly, waiting for me. I smile back and take a step, then another. My pulse races. When I told him I wanted a husband who loved me and a family I could belong to—my heart might’ve known I was talking about him.

My strides get faster, and then I’m running toward him. His smile grows wider and brighter. Laughter and cheers rise from our family .

He spreads his arms, and I wrap my arms around his neck, holding on to my love, my husband, my future.
