Chapter twenty-one

Hawk

I was so proud of Mika. I knew he was scared of Butch, but he’d been calm and collected the whole time we talked with Chance. He’d asked good questions, and if he hadn’t understood how something would work, he’d looked to either me or Wolfe for an explanation. By the time the meeting was over, we had a solid plan to lure Butch out of hiding and put an end to this nightmare for Mika.

When we were finished, Chance stood and held out his hand to Mika. “Thank you for agreeing to help us. We need to get these guys off the street, and your assistance is going to make that possible.”

“Assuming they’re still in town,” Mika pointed out.

“Right, assuming they’re still in town.” And with that, Chance left.

“I just want you to know that we’re going to do everything possible to keep you safe, Mika,” Wolfe said. “Not just Hawk, but all of us here at Three Bears.”

“Thank you,” Mika said softly.

“Now, I want you two to get on outta here. You’ve got a rough few days ahead, so take a little time to enjoy the calm before the storm.”

I stood and nodded before stretching out my hand for Mika. “He’s not wrong, so how about if you and I order some food and watch a movie?” He took my hand, and I pulled him to his feet.

“I like the sound of that.”

An hour or so later, we were cuddled up on the couch, watching one of Mika’s favorite movies. It was a British murder mystery that didn’t really appeal to me, but he seemed really into it. Not that anything would’ve held my attention. All I could think about was the fact that I was about to willingly put this sweet boy in danger.

I knew we’d do everything we could to keep him safe, but there were so many things that could go wrong. Sometimes, no matter how much you planned or how good you were, things still went to shit. I knew that all too well.

I thought I’d been doing a decent job of pretending to watch the movie, but apparently, I hadn’t because, after a bit, Mika lifted his head off my shoulder and turned to look at me.

“We can pick something else if you want.”

“No, this is fine.”

“Are you okay?”

I tightened my arms around him. He was the one who was putting himself in danger. I should’ve been the one asking him if he was okay, not the other way around—but that was just like my boy. He was so sweet, so caring, and so sensitive. It was no wonder I hadn’t been able to hide how worried I was from him.

“I’m fine. I just don’t like the idea of you having to deal with that man. The day you left him should’ve been the end of it, and I hate that it wasn’t.”

“You’re right. It should’ve been the end. But the truth is, I knew all along it wasn’t. I’ll just be glad when it’s done this time. Because this will be the end.”

“Damn right, it is. He’ll never get to hurt you again. Not as long as I’m breathing.”

“Thank you, but you don’t know that for sure, and that’s okay. I know you’re probably sitting there running a thousand different scenarios through your head about how this can all go wrong, but this is my best chance to be completely free of him, and it’s worth the risk. I ran from him before, but I don’t want to run anymore.”

“That’s all I want for you. For you to be free and for your life to go back to normal.”

He slid to the side and turned to face me. “What’s normal, exactly?”

I looked at him, confused, because I thought it was pretty clear. I wanted him to be able to walk down the street without fear. I wanted to take him out on a real date without watching the door for threats. I didn’t want him cooped up here in the house instead of going to the Farmers Market with Andy.

“Does that mean I go back to my house alone, working for Mary Ellen, and hanging out with my friends? Because I have to be honest with you, Hawk. That doesn’t sound all that great to me.”

“You mean what happens with us?” Obviously, I’d done a shit job as a Daddy if he thought for a second that I didn’t want to be part of whatever came next for him.

“Yeah, what happens with us when this is all over?”

“I should tell you that what happens next is up to you, that it’s your choice, but I’ve never lied to you, and I don’t mean to start now. You’re mine, Mika, and I don’t plan to let you go without a fight. So, as far as I’m concerned, you don’t ever have to go back to that house alone. I want you here with me. As far as the rest of it goes, that’s up to you. You can go back to work, or you can quit. You can hang out with your friends or tell them to take a hike. I’m pretty sure Andy wouldn’t agree with that, though.”

He chuckled at that. “Andy has some serious Daddy energy for a boy, don’t you think?”

“He does, but that’s just the protective firefighter in him, and Jesse loves that about him, which means Jesse is the perfect Daddy for him.”

He nodded. “And you’re the perfect Daddy for me.”

“Damn right.”

“So I can stay here with you, then?”

“I’d like to see you try to leave,” I growled.

“What if I don’t want to live in the Three Bears building?” he asked, like that would deter me. If my boy wanted to move back to Kansas, then we’d go.

“Then we’ll buy a place somewhere else. Whatever makes you happy.”

“You make me happy, Daddy. And I love this condo. But it does need to be redecorated.”

“Fine, get new furniture, new curtains, whatever you want.”

“No.” He smiled at me. “It’ll be whatever we both want because it’s not just about me. This will be our home.”

“Okay. I just want you to be happy.”

“Know what would make both of us happy?” he asked, biting his bottom lip.

I was pretty sure I knew where he was going with that, but I played along. “No, what would make both of us happy?”

He reached out a finger and trailed it down my chest. “Take me to bed, Daddy.”

Mika

Hawk didn’t hesitate. He scooped me up and carried me to the bedroom. I had some scary things ahead of me, but right this minute, that wasn’t what mattered. What mattered was that Hawk didn’t want me to leave when this was over. I’d hoped—but some part of me had believed all of this was too good to be true. That things like this were for other people, not for me. And now that he was saying he wanted to keep me here with him, I wanted something tangible to seal the deal. It was silly, but it was what I wanted.

“Do we have to use a condom?” I asked.

“We have regular tests here at Three Bears, so I’m good. How about you?”

“I’m good. I can show you, if you want.”

“No need, baby boy. I trust you. Now get naked and on the bed, face down.”

I did as he said and quickly stripped off my clothes.

“Damn, baby, you’re beautiful.”

He moved to the bed and reached out a hand, running it down my body. His rough, calloused hands were like sandpaper against my skin, and just his touch had all my nerves firing on overdrive.

A wicked grin tugged at his lips as he looked down at me. He trailed a few kisses down my back, and my skin broke out in goosebumps. He licked and nibbled his way down my body to my ass cheeks before pulling them apart and blowing a warm breath over my hole. I gasped, my body jumping at the sensation.

“Daddy, what’re you—” I cut off with a gasp as his tongue brushed against my hole. “Oh!”

“Yeah, oh.” He laughed and went back to work. He licked and kissed and nibbled at my opening until I was writhing beneath him. Then he pushed his tongue inside my body.

“Oh God, that feels amazing.” My cock was leaking, and I needed some kind of friction. I moved against the bed in time with the thrusting of his tongue. I was so close, but it wasn’t enough. I needed more.

“I need—please—more,” I babbled, my brain unable to form a complete thought.

“Oh, does my sweet boy need something more?” he asked, and I nodded frantically.

He moved away, and I whimpered like the needy little bottom I was—but he wasn’t gone long. I looked back over my shoulder and saw him pouring lube onto his fingers.

He slowly began to finger me, and I let out another desperate sound.

“Making you whimper is one of my favorite things, baby boy. I love the sounds you make.”

He worked his finger slowly in and out of me until it was almost too much. My breath came in quick, shaky pants, and I wanted—no, I needed—him to give me more.

“Please, I need you inside me, Daddy.”

“Roll over,” he commanded. “I want you to look me in the eyes when you come so you know who you belong to.”

I quickly did as he said, and he wasted no time getting into position and pressing the head of his cock against my slick opening.

He pushed forward until he was buried to the hilt inside me.

“I’m so full,” I moaned. “So fucking full.”

He began to move, and the sensation of being filled with his hard length drove every thought from my mind other than being his.

He withdrew and slammed forward again and again. I wrapped my legs around him, and he gripped the backs of my thighs as he thrust harder and faster. I moved my body in rhythm with his, meeting his every movement.

I grasped his arms and dug my nails into his skin.

“Don’t stop—harder, please…” I begged, throwing my head back and closing my eyes.

“Eyes on me, baby,” he growled, and my eyes flew open, meeting his.

“Daddy, please,” I whined, not even sure what I was asking for—just knowing I needed something from him.

He reached down with one hand, gripped my cock, and tugged it over and over.

“Come with me, baby. Come with me.”

That was it. That was what I’d been so desperate for. I cried out as my climax rolled over me, cum shooting from my cock and covering his hand.

He kept his eyes on mine. A growl escaped his throat as he filled me with his seed.

I whimpered one last time when he withdrew from me.

He rolled to his side next to me and propped himself up on one elbow. “Are you okay?” he asked.

“I’m better than okay.”

“Good.” He leaned in to brush his lips softly against mine, and I snuggled against him. I’d be sorry later that we didn’t get out of bed and clean up, but in that moment, I didn’t want to move. I just wanted to be right there, wrapped in his arms.
