F rancesca Woolbridge was not what I expected based on her file. I didn’t know what to make of her, except that she was there last night, lurking in the shadows of the museum long after she should have gone home.
For a moment when I first walked up to the lab exhibit, I thought she recognized me, but whatever panic flitted through her eyes was gone behind a mask so quickly I must have imagined it.
I needed to get closer to her.
Tom’s booming voice echoed around the employee lounge, and I did my best to extract myself from his attention.
Per my handler, Francesca was where I needed to place my focus. I caught sight of her as she walked by with her friend Lily. I didn’t wait for Tom to finish his sentence before following them out of the building.
“I’ll drop you off and grab some coffee while I’m there,” Francesca said to her companion as they rounded the corner.
“You know you’re invited, right? Also, isn’t it a bit late for coffee? I’m really worried about you.” Lily said.
I let them trail ahead of me until I couldn’t hear them anymore.
Based on my research, Francesca frequented a local bakery and coffee shop, Grandma’s House.
Now that I knew where she would be tonight, I just needed to bide my time and arrange for us to meet.
