The potent scent of marijuana infused the room.
Smoke glided in the atmosphere as Ada’s gaze focused on the painting on the wall.
She was in her feelings. Partly due to the weed she’d consumed and mainly because she was trapped in pure agony.
For the last two decades, Ada roved through her existence feeling empty.
She hadn’t been whole. Parts of her were broken to never be put back together.
Her life was one big front. She was an actress who had so many years of experience that she didn’t know who she was anymore.
The wigs, designer threads, and plastic surgery were all just bandages over her scars.
These wounds ran so deep that they penetrated the three layers of skin.
Her heart had been disfigured for years, and no one understood her pain. Not even Dax.
Ada continued gazing at the painting, taking in the three men that had come from her. God had used her as a vessel to bring Devyn, Meco, and Lo into the world. They were hers. No one could take claim over them except Dax. The thought of Maddy turning her son against her left her so bitter.
“That broke bitch,” she mumbled.
The bitterness had planted roots inside Ada, evoking weeds to fester in her spirit.
She could be nasty and rude. Her attitude could’ve used an adjustment.
Being broken had been an accessory Ada wore well over the years but now, she had reached her breaking point.
Going to Lo’s wedding had been a dream until she got there and saw Maddy.
The way she carried on as if Lo was her son triggered the hell out of her.
Lo completely ignored her and Dax, which was expected.
However, seeing him smile in Maddy’s face left her filled with a rage she couldn’t contain.
So, in true Ada fashion, she strutted over to Maddy and told her words she had been waiting to tell her for years.
‘Bitch, your karma is coming soon…’
It felt good allowing those words to release from her mouth. Maddy had done something that was unforgivable. She had caused division within her family and for that, Ada would never forgive her twin sister.
“Fuck this!”
Ada dabbed the blunt out in the ashtray and walked over to the cupboard.
She pulled out her .22 and made her exit out the room.
She thought about telling Dax where she was headed but he would only try to stop her.
Exiting her home, she made the trek toward Devyn’s so she could get to her car.
Walking inside, she noticed the kitchen staff making dinner and Tori seated at the island.
“Where are you raging to?” she asked Ada.
“To Maddy’s house.”
Tori looked up, wearing widened eyes. “Wait, what?”
“Leave me alone, Tori. I’m not in the mood for your shit.”
Ada heard shuffling behind her as she continued toward the garage.
“Hey, don’t go over there. You’re going to end up doing something stupid.”
Ada snatched her keys from the hook. “That’s the point.”
There was no one who could talk her off this ledge. The assignment was up. She had done her bid of twenty years of heartbreak, and Ada was ready to go out guns blazing. Entering the garage, Ada marched over to her car with Tori right behind her.
“Do you wanna be tranquilized today? ‘Cause that’s what’s gonna happen if you go over to that lady’s house.”
“Fuck her!” Ada yelled. “That bitch is going to feel my fucking wrath for taking my baby from me. She caused all of us so much hell. And then that bitch had the nerve to be at my child’s wedding acting like she gave birth to him. I don’t give a fuck anymore.”
“Listen, Ada, I understand—”
“No, the hell you don’t,” Ada interrupted her. “Imagine your brother taking Demir from you and turning him against you. You would be filled with rage just like me.”
Tori nodded and released a deep breath. “Okay, I get it. I’ll ride with you so I can make sure you don't do nothing crazy.”
Ada was taken aback by her sudden support but didn’t question it. She went for the driver’s seat, and Tori got in on the passenger side. Cranking the engine, she pulled out the garage and drove toward Maddy’s house to unleash years of resentment.
Lo gripped Bria’s waist as she slid up and down his erection. It was sensual and slow, due to them being in Maddy’s house. Lo wanted to flip her over and watch his dick disappear in her warmth from the back, but he’d have Bria crying out.
“Oh, Lo,” she moaned, gripping her breasts.
“Shh,” he shushed her, pulling her forward to silence her whimpers.
Despite Maddy being busy in the kitchen, he still didn’t want to draw attention to the bedroom. Kissing her lips, Lo gripped her ass. There was magic in Bria’s pussy. One that could have him going insane if she continued fucking him like this.
“I can’t believe you got me fucking you right now,” she whispered.
Bria had no idea what kind of ride she had boarded when she married Lo.
There was nothing uniform about him, especially when it came to fucking.
They wouldn’t become the couple with mundane sex who only indulged a couple times a week.
No, Lo would make sure they would embark on excursions with memories that would last a lifetime.
“As wet as your pussy is, I don’t know why you can’t believe it.”
Lo’s lips made a beeline to her neck while she circled her hips. If he could live inside her sex, he would have made the move the day they met. It was warm and wet with so much arousal that Lo felt as though he was drowning in her walls.
“ Yeah, come out the house, bitch! ”
Lo thought he heard commotion, but he was so inebriated by Bria bouncing on his erection that he ignored it.
“ You think you can take my fucking child from me and get away with it! Bitch, I got something for you! ”
Lo quickly snapped out of his sex-induced haze and lifted Bria up. That voice couldn’t be ignored. He’d recognized that tone even though it came from a person he couldn’t stand.
“What’s wrong?” she asked, bewildered.
Lo ignored her and looked out the window. He was mortified when he saw Ada standing on the sidewalk with a gun in her hand. Tori was next to her, trying to calm her down while Maddy stood on the walkway.
“The fuck!” he hissed, pulling up his pants.
“Lo, wait. What happened?” Bria asked as he proceeded to the door.
He stalked to the front door while buckling his belt. As soon as he got outside, he noticed Meco trying to calm Ada down. Kaylona stood on the porch, cradling Kylan in her arms.
“Ma, chill out.”
“No, fuck that!” Ada yelled as her gaze seared into Lo. “You really let this jealous, fat-ass bitch brainwash you, huh? Lo, you're my fucking son, not hers.”
“Oh, please! Don’t be mad at me because you failed as a mother.” Maddy laughed.
There was something that nagged at Lo when she laughed at Ada. He didn’t know where the emotion came from, but he didn’t like it.
“Bitch, you laughing now but you won’t be laughing when I put a bullet in your ass.”
Meco snatched the gun from Ada’s hand. “Aye, you trippin’. Why you come over here on that bullshit?”
“Because this bitch needs to die!” Ada declared as tears ran down her face.
“Ada, calm down,” Tori coached. “I knew you were going to show your ass.”
“No, I will not calm down.” She looked at Lo. “You got played. You let this bitch tell you all this shit and turn you against us. Maddy has always been a jealous bitch. She couldn’t stand that I had found a good man who married me—”
“Oh, get the fuck outta here!” Maddy cut her off. “Why the hell would I be jealous of you?”
“Because you were the twin who didn’t get any attention. I always had it. You couldn’t stand it, so you caused all this division in my family because you're a miserable-ass bitch!”
This was the second time in Lo’s life where his mother and aunt had faced off. The first time had been gut wrenching. It was a memory he wished he could delete from his mind. This scene had proven to be just as bad as the first one.
“I had a man who married me and gave me sons,” Ada continued ranting.
“You couldn’t stand that I was living the life you always wanted.
Your weak-ass baby daddy didn’t stick around, and you hated that I had a family.
You tried everything in your power to destroy us.
Making up lies about Dax cheating and claiming he had a baby on me. ”
“Those weren’t lies!” Maddy shouted. “That man wasn’t faithful to you, and I heard he got a girl pregnant.”
“No, the fuck he didn’t!” Ada tried advancing toward her, but Meco stopped her. “You were the only one making up lies and when I distanced myself from you, you got mad and came for my son.”
Lo stood in silence, stunned by Ada’s allegations. Growing up, Maddy and Ada had always been close. He never knew there was a time where they’d had conflict before his situation occurred.
“Your child came to me in distress.” Maddy stabbed her chest with her finger. “Did you forget that? He didn’t run to you but came to me!”
“Ada, come on!” Tori said with more bite in her tone. “People are starting to come out of their houses. It’ll only be a matter of time before the police come.”
“Yeah, Ma, let’s get in the car,” Meco said in a softer tone.
“No, this bitch gon’ hear this shit. You're pathetic. You could never fuck with me on no levels, so you came for my family.” Ada chuckled sinisterly.
“You succeeded but I told you your karma was coming. That’s why you’ve lived such a fucking miserable life.
You got pregnant by a married man and birthed a punk for a son.
You couldn’t stand seeing my boys because they represented everything you wished that lil’ bastard was.
You're going to die alone. All you got to show for your life is this lil’ house and I bet Lo bought this, didn’t he? You're a waste, bitch!”
