The Pittsburgh Mob Family

The leader of the mob in Pittsburgh, Carmine Corsini, unfortunately meets his demise at the start of this series, breaking a tenuously held truce between the Pittsburgh and Buffalo mob families.

Elena, Leandro’s wife, had a beloved sister named Nora Amato, who married Carmine Corsini many years ago so she could remain in America as an immigrant.

Carmine and Nora had many, many children, but Carmine’s control over her sister increased over time. A family argument led to Nora’s death, a splitting of the two families and a cold war between the Pittsburgh mob and the Buffalo mob.

After Nora’s death, her daughter Mallory escaped, never to return again…

In this series, Carmine is gone and with him dead, the truce is broken, and his right hand man Maurizio Gravina, otherwise known as “Maury” makes his play for power.

To add to the complexity of the situation, Maury, the darkest force in the Pittsburgh mob, has been married to Leandro’s youngest sister, Nicola Taviani, the woman he named his youngest daughter after, for the past thirty-five years.

War between the cities could rip a family apart.

The Grandparents

Benito Corsini – Died during the Vietnam War.

Gabriella Raimondi Corsini – Died four years ago.

The Parents

Carmine Corsini – 69 years old. Dead. Pino Corsini’s brother runs the Pittsburgh mob.

At least he does until meeting his untimely death in the book universe, around Book #9 in the Rebel Barbarians MC Romance Series and Book #1 in the Buffalo Mafia Crime Family Series.

(Yes, the two worlds have some connections).

Nora Amato Corsini – Deceased under suspicious circumstances.

Carmine’s wife. Barbara A. Taviani’s sister.

Leandro promised to protect his wife’s interests in the Pittsburgh family mob because of her sister, even if he holds Carmine Corsini in constant suspicion.

After she died, Leandro agreed to a truce between the two families despite suspecting Carmine of eliminating his second wife the way he eliminated the first…

Sabrina Doukas Corsini – Carmine’s first wife – deceased. She died after giving birth to their three eldest children after voluntarily jumping off a yacht into the Mediterranean Sea – according to Carmine’s reports. Shortly before her passing, Carmine met his second wife, Nora.

Maurizio Gravina, “Maury” – 72 years old.

Carmine’s underboss. At the time of Carmine’s death, he wanted to position his eldest son, Vince Gravina as the next head of the Pittsburgh mob.

Maury, as his friends call him, has a high tolerance for cruelty.

The Gravina family will become an important feature of both series.

Maury and Carmine have a long history as best friends and often romantic rivals.

Nicola Taviani Gravina – 50 years old. She is Leandro’s youngest sister. Against her father’s wishes, she married her precious Maury over thirty years ago. Nicola has secrets of her own…

Carmine’s Children

Before Carmine & Nora married, Carmine had a first wife… and children.

Nina D. Corsini – 43 years old. A retired supermodel and Carmine’s first daughter from his first marriage.

She lives in Erie, PA on an isolated farm on the lake.

She never married and has no children, but she inherited $2 million from her Doukas family trust in Italy when she turned eighteen and left her father’s house without cutting off ties entirely.

Marco D. Corsini – 41 years old. The first son from Carmine’s first marriage to Sabrina Doukas.

He is 45 years old and lives on the Amalfi Coast where he partners with Matteo Doukas to run a deep sea fishing tourism business off the coast. Marco will occasionally act as the “muscle” for the Doukas mob family but wants to return to America for better financial prospects.

The Corsini family drama will force him to return home.

Franco D. Corsini – 39 years old. The second son from Carmine’s first marriage to Sabrina Doukas.

He owns a small pizza chain in Western, NY but left the business for his half-sister Gia to manage while he takes a sabbatical in Italy.

The family drama will force him to return home with his brother Marco.

Carmine & Nora’s Children

Mallory Corsini – 37 years old. She ran away from home to escape forced marriage.

Her father killed her younger sister for an attempted elopement with a Puerto Rican man and Mallory was too traumatized to leave her family at first, but when her father revealed his plans to marry her off to a much older man, Mallory escaped and wasn’t seen again for 15 years.

Helena Corsini – Her father killed her for dating outside her race 15 years ago.

Gia Corsini – 35 years old. Helena’s identical twin sister.

She has had to face a life without Helena and never forgave Mallory for abandoning the family.

She feels fierce loyalty to Maury Gravina and nobody suspects Gia of involvement with any mob activities because she appears to be a harmless, demure Italian moment.

Dario Corsini – 28 years old. Born after Mallory left, all he knows about his sister comes from family stories. The youngest brothers are more open minded to change, but they are more stuck in their ways over how the mob should run.

Vito Corsini – 24 years old. The youngest brother in the “Pittsburgh Corsini” family.

He loves cigars, nightclubs open past midnight and sports betting.

He has a light-hearted approach to life since he was a baby during the most dramatic years of the family.

He doesn’t take anything seriously, has a hedonistic streak, and gets a lot of attention from women.

Maury’s Children

Vince Gravina – 34 years old. Maury thinks his son should lead the Pittsburgh mob. In the wake of Carmine’s death, his primary mission remains establishing his son’s power and influence.

Giancarlo Gravina – 32 years old. Owns a motorcycle dealership & mechanic shop in Pittsburgh. He has serious anger issues.

The Twins

Liliana Gravina – 30 years old. Married since 16 years old to a man in Italy.

Gabriella Gravina – 30 years old. Married since 16 years old to a man in Chicago.

The Younger Children…

Benedetto Gravina, “Benny” – 27 years old. Benedetto looks nothing like his father Maury. He looked a lot like Carmine Corsini. Maury had a man killed for accidentally referring to his son as “Carmine” in 2017.

Emilio Gravina – 24 years old. Emilio looks nothing like Maury. Some people say he looks like Carmine, but others think he looks suspiciously like Pino Corsini, a man who Nicola Taviani Gravina has known her entire life.

Felice Gravina – 21 years old. Maury’s youngest son doesn’t look anything like him. He looks a lot like Sal Amato.

Maury Gravina stepped out of his marriage a couple of times. Nothing serious, but he has a few other children who you might need to know about. The women are listed in order of their favor with Maury…

Sidepiece #1

Emily O’ Hara – 48 years old. She met Maury while between homes and he offered to put her up in a studio apartment in exchange for the occasional encounter. Currently, Emily works as a hair stylist in Pittsburgh. She has a few boyfriends, but her baby daddy comes first.

Armando Gravina – 22 years old. He recently died on Dario & Vito’s mission to Boston to retrieve Carmine’s runaway daughter, Mallory, explored in detail during Biker’s Tribute (Book #9 Rebel Barbarians Motorcycle Club Series)

Sidepiece #2

Sarah Collins – 32 years old. She met Maury while in-between jobs outside of her AA meeting.

He offered to put her up in a motel room for a few nights until she got a job.

Sarah fell hard and fast for Maury, and spent a few months in 2010 stalking his wife.

Sarah considers Maury to be her “twin flame”.

Clarissa Gravina – 15 years old. Often in trouble.

Sidepiece #3

Betty Pirrone – 38 years old. Her brother does work for the mob.

She accompanied the mobsters on a job out in Chicago and her brother offered her to Maury for $3,000.

He paid her to keep the baby. Betty has a scheme to get her son in a position of power within the mob so that she can have enough money to go on a cruise to Cozumel.

Martino Pirrone Gravina – 20 years old. He does grunt work for the Pittsburgh mob.
