Tig

Six Months Later

When we went home from the hospital that day, I wasn’t sure how we’d do.

Everything had changed in that one moment.

Isaac had gone from fiercely independent to someone who needed help, whether he wanted it or not.

And he definitely did not want it. For three months he had treatments on his burns while everyone at work asked about him daily, and Roger stopped by to visit at least once a week.

Jack was there nearly daily just to make sure Isaac got everything he needed.

“Do you miss staying at your house?” Isaac asked. Since he’d needed constant care for the first few weeks, I’d moved a few of my things to his house since it was in town and closer to anything we might need.

“Nope. I actually like being in town during the week and spending the weekends at the ranch,” I said and kissed his forehead. He had healed so well, just like the doctor had promised, and even though he didn’t need as much help anymore, we kept the same schedule.

“At least we have lots of privacy there,” he said.

“Yes, we do, now if we don’t get moving, we’re both going to be late for work,” I said.

We’d packed our lunch in the ice chest and drove to work in his truck today.

He’d liked the little bit of freedom driving gave him when he was injured, and once he felt up to it, he’d drive me to work even when he wasn’t quite ready to return yet.

“What’s on the agenda for today?” I asked.

“We’re changing out the wiring harnesses on the rest of the dryers. Roger wants to do it before we have any further issues, and if we do now it’s safer. This time we’ll be shutting off the power before we even start.”

“You’re the bravest person I know,” I said, and meant it. He’d lived through something that could have killed him, but he’d survived, and so far, hadn’t looked back.

“No, I’m not. I’m just not the stupid kid I was that rushed in without making sure everything was safe. I know it was a stupid accident, but I should have been more cautious, and now I will be.”

“I’m sure Roger will never stop watching every little thing you do,” I said.

Roger had struggled with the guilt of knowing he was training Isaac, but Isaac had never blamed him.

They had grown very close since then and when Roger stopped by, usually watched some old movie that Roger loved, or a sporting event Isaac knew I wasn’t interested in.

“Well hopefully he does, or he’ll never get to retire. Did you know he wants to go on a cruise as soon as he’s done? He said he’s always wanted to travel but never had the chance,” Isaac said as he pulled into the parking lot at the dryer.

“Is that something you’d want to do?” I asked.

He’d never mentioned travel before, and in the last six months that was another thing that had changed.

We didn’t just talk about when we should fuck or our exes or worry about shit that didn’t matter.

Now we talked, we got to know each other.

He hated broccoli, but loved cauliflower, which made no sense to me.

But he knew I loved peas and hated string beans.

Which he found annoying since green beans were something he knew were easy to grow, and in a few months, we’d start our own garden at the farm.

“Oh god no, I can’t think of something I want to do less. Spending a week on a ship with a bunch of people I never wanted to meet in the first place? No thanks,” he said, and we laughed. “But maybe a nice beach somewhere.”

There were so many things he hadn’t experienced yet, and I was the lucky asshole who got to not only introduce him to them, but I got to experience them with him. “We’ll start looking at a few places and see what sounds good. Mexico has some great beaches and it’s not that far.”

“I never thought of doing that, but I like that idea. I’m going to ask some of the guys at work where they’ve been.” He grinned and I could tell we’d be planning a vacation soon and I couldn’t find it in me to be upset. “Have you been on a cruise?”

“Oh god no, I can’t think of anything else I’d rather avoid. Have you seen that series about the cruise ship that was stuck out to sea so long they ran out of food and the electricity went out so they couldn’t flush the toilets or shower?”

He pulled to a stop and shut off the engine before turning to look at me. “Are you fucking kidding me?”

“Nope, we’ll watch it this weekend.”

“Maybe Roger needs to watch it too,” he said.

“So, about the weekend, I was thinking we could switch things up a little.” I stared at him, wondering if he’d pick the change in my tone, and waited for him to look at me.

“What do you mean ‘switch things up’?” He narrowed his eyes, and I knew he was hoping to look intimidating enough to force the information out of me, but there was no need for that.

“I think it’s time you fuck me. I can’t wait to have that big dick in me,” I said and hoped it reminded him of things he’d said to me in the time leading up to us finally just doing it.

“Oh, I am going to fuck you so hard you’ll forget about everyone who came before me and anyone you thought you wanted after me.

I’m going to use my magic dick to give you amnesia for any other dick out there,” he said, and for a moment neither of us said a word before we erupted in laughter. “We are so fucking weird.”

“I love your kind of weird, and I really do want you to fuck me,” I said and after checking no one was around I put my hand behind the back of his neck and leaned over to kiss him.

Our tongues swirled together, and I forced myself not to reach for his dick while in the back of my mind I was thinking of reasons to skip work today.

“We’re going to the ranch after work and we’re not leaving there until Sunday.

Your ass is mine.” He pulled me in for one more kiss before climbing out of the truck, and when I turned to walk into the building I’d be working in, I stood there a moment longer and watched as he walked to where Roger was already waiting for him.

Finding Isaac was the best thing that had ever happened to me and there was nothing that would make me change a thing.

“Stop staring at my ass,” he yelled over his shoulder, and I barked out a laugh before I walked inside to start my day.

The End!
