Page 25 of Final Temptation (Alpine Peak #2)
The best part about going to Las Vegas in July? Pool season. In Sin City, pool parties were all the rage, with the best DJs, gorgeous girls, and handsome men everywhere. It was like being transported into a different world, especially when you were born and raised in a small mountain town.
In the deep heat of the summer, the pool was absolutely necessary.
The moment the plane touched down, the heat building inside was evident. I could already sense the relief my body would feel dipping into the cool water with a cold drink in my hand.
Before any of that could happen, though, we needed to check into our hotel.
The local Uber driver dropped us off on the front drive, our overpacked luggage surrounding us. You’d think we were here to stay based on how we packed.
“Stay here, I’ll go check us in,” I told the group.
Since I was the one to book our rooms, I made my way to the front desk, eager to get the keys. I couldn’t wait to live my best life in one of these fancy, high-rise hotels.
“Hi, two rooms for Sophie Turner.” I smiled at the dark-haired gentleman behind the counter, sliding him my ID and Declan’s credit card. He appeared to be in his mid-thirties, pretty cute, too.
This is the perfect scenario for a free upgrade.
“Yes, Miss. Turner. I have you down for one, two-bed standard and a one-bedroom loft. Is that correct?”
“Sounds about right.” I bit my lip, giving him a sultry once-over before adding, “Unless you have anything available that you’d like to throw in for an upgrade on that standard room.
” I looked down at my chest, my cleavage on full display.
“You see, my best friend is getting married, and we are here for her bachelorette party. It’s my first time in Vegas and I’d love to live it up to the fullest.”
The handsome man took a generous eyeful of my cleavage before looking back at his computer.
The sucker took the bait.
“Hmm… Lucky for you, I think we just had a cancellation for one of our Studio Parlor Suites.” Parlor? Suite? Sounds swanky and right up my alley for this weekend.
“I’ll take it! Ugh, you’re the best! Truly, feel free to grab a drink after work and charge it to my room.” I winked, and he chuckled.
After I finished checking us in, keys in hand, I made my way back to everyone. “Okay, we’re all set! I think he said the elevator is that way!” I passed out a key card to everyone for their assigned rooms.
We all ended up on the same elevator, Myles and I getting off on a lower floor first. Declan and Paige had a bigger room, and I’m pretty sure the hot guy at the desk mentioned those types of rooms were on higher floors.
Before we unlocked the door to our parlor, Myles looked down at my chest and back up to my eyes with a mischievous look on his face. “What did you do?”
“W-what do you mean?” I pulled the neck of my shirt a little higher.
“You’re forgetting that I spent years around you while you were bartending. Lowering your top to get what you want is your move.” My mouth dropped. “I’m not shaming you, Soph. I’m just saying, I wouldn’t be able to say no to you either. So, what is it that you asked for at the check-in counter?”
Suddenly, it’s hot in here. So, fucking hot.
The idea of everyday life in Colorado went right out the window, and taking its spot was the erotic essence of Las Vegas, where you weren’t judged for being wild and sexy—you could be whoever the fuck you wanted to be.
“Happy to hear that you pay attention to me enough that you know what my ‘ move’ is. Why don’t you open the door and find out?” He held the card to the door. Once it beeped, he held it open, ushering me in before saying, “After you.”
A few steps in, and I dropped my bags, along with my jaw. “Wow,” I whispered under my breath.
Immediately to my right was a full kitchenette.
With studio in the name, it now made more sense.
It had everything you would need in an apartment, but it was made into a classy hotel room.
One big open room with a kitchen, an open sitting room with a large flat-screen TV, and windows that took up the entire wall looked straight out to the strip.
It wasn’t dark yet, but I knew once the sun went down, it would be an incredible view, unlike anything I would see at home.
Lost in the view, Myles slid in next to me.
“What are you thinking?”
“I’m thinking, I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been outside of our small little town, and this is everything I’ve seen in pictures and more.”
“Sounds like you need to change that.”
“Change what?” My eyes drifted from the towering buildings to the man beside me.
“Travel more. Let your hair down and enjoy yourself. We are young and these are our years to travel.”
“Yeah, maybe now that I’m not at the bar anymore, I can make that happen. Who knows, maybe in the future, I’ll book a wedding out of state, make a vacation out of it.” I shrugged, feeling optimistic.
Being here was so overwhelming, but in the best of ways. The view sucked me in, almost making me forget there was another half of the room I had yet to look at.
“Oh my God,” I said in awe as I drifted around the corner and into the other room. “The bathroom.”
The tub looked like it could fit two, unlike mine back home. The marble floors and countertops were so decadent, it was like I’d be living as a royal for the weekend.
My senses were on overdrive, and I almost didn’t notice the bed. That was, until Myles chuckled.
“Wow, Soph. You flashed the guy at the front desk so you could get one bed for us to shack up in?” Myles took a seat on the puffy white comforter, sporting a giant grin on his face.
I didn’t even think twice about asking how many beds were in the room. I was so focused on the upgrade that when he mentioned it was a ‘ parlor’ , my eyes got big. My vision for this weekend was to experience a vacation like I hadn’t ever before, so I didn’t think to ask for two beds.
“There must be a mistake.” I marched to the phone on the bedside table, picking it up.
“You going to call that guy down there and tell him you no longer want the room?” He shook his head before adding, “Put the phone down, Soph.” I walked away from the phone; my body reacting to his demand.
“I wanted an upgrade—something fancier, with a better view. I didn’t ask for one bed.” I didn’t care that we only had one bed in here; I wasn’t opposed to sharing. We’d slept in the same bed that one night he had a nightmare…and I left before he woke up.
I’ve sucked his dick for crying out loud.
But I didn’t want to assume he was okay with it. What if he preferred his own space?
“I like the view, it’s totally worth the upgrade. Plus, if you practically showed your tits to that guy, it’s only right that I get to be the one to sleep next to you.” I slapped his arm.
“I did not show my tits. I left a little to the imagination, okay? Are you sure you don’t mind? There’s a couch in the sitting room; I can crash on it to give you your own space? Or we can?—”
“Soph, shut up,” he cut me off. “You’re sleeping next to me, got it? You’re the one who offered to stay by my side all weekend, anyway, so I guess now, we are going to take that literally.” He pulled me down to the bed, his body now hovering over mine.
I swore they pumped pheromones into these hotels only to make you horny as shit.
Myles toyed with the top of my tank top, pulling it down just enough to show off the same amount of cleavage I showed the front desk worker.
“We’re in Vegas, and I can only imagine the outfits you brought to parade around in.
Show off all the cleavage you want, but you’re in my bed at the end of the night, remember that. ”
I swallowed the lump in my throat. Suddenly, I wanted to forget this was a weekend for celebrating with our friends, and hole up in this sleek hotel room with Myles for the next couple days.
Myles brought his mouth down to my chest, nipping at the tops of my breasts.
I felt like a balloon ready to burst, and each moment of intimacy between us was another puff of air, becoming so full we’d pop at any minute.
The closer we became, the more I needed to know what having all of him felt like.
