Page 34 of Fang (Lotus MC: San Antonio #2)

E verything went by in a blur. Fang shocked me when he led me to the truck, but I was grateful that I didn’t have to figure out how to hold onto him and ride on the back of his bike. I was even more shocked when he got in with me. When I asked about his bike, he told me not to worry about it.

As soon as I step inside, Fang at my back, Viv and Bailey hop up and rush over to me.

“Oh, sweetie. Let’s get you cleaned up,” Viv says, pulling me along with her.

Bailey is on my other side.

I look back at Fang.

“It’s okay. Go clean up. I need to handle what happened,” he tells me, nodding to Savage.

I let the girls lead me away from the only thing making me feel safe right now.

They take me down the hall into a bathroom. Bailey starts the shower as Viv runs down the hall, bringing me back some of my clothes from Fang’s room.

“You are dirty and covered in blood. Hop in and clean off. We will deal with your cuts when you get out.”

“Okay.”

I step in the shower, the weight of what happened starting to weigh on me. At first, I am cleaning myself slowly, but then the tears begin to fall, making my motions become rougher and more frantic.

After a few minutes, the shower curtain opens and both girls climb inside with me, holding me from each side.

“It’s okay. You’re safe. He can’t hurt you anymore,” they tell me as they hug me, both getting soaked.

“Why does life hate me?” I cry out, the same pity party I’ve thrown a million times.

“It doesn’t hate you,” Viv tells me, brushing my hair away from my face. “Life gives us mountains to climb so we can appreciate the view when we get there. It’s not fair, but it’s the way it works. Don’t let the mountain take the focus away from what’s important,” she tells me.

“Like Fang. He’s out there losing his mind over you. He even damaged his bike trying to get to you. That man loves you, and as long as he does, you can face anything. I know from experience,” Bailey tells me.

I let my head fall down, the sobs coming.

“Shh. Let’s get you cleaned up. Is it okay if we touch you?” Viv asks. “You can cry it all out, and we will take care of you.”

“Okay,” I tell them through a sob.

Viv takes the wash rag she handed me, putting soap on it as she carefully washes my body. She is very gentle as she starts with my shoulders, then my arms, my stomach, and finally my legs.

As she does this, Bailey washes my hair, rubbing a fruity-smelling shampoo into it. She rinses it before adding conditioner.

Between the two of them, they have me cleaned in ten minutes. They turn off the shower, handing me my towel.

I step out, sitting on the closed toilet lid as they stand in sopping wet clothes.

“I’m sorry,” I tell them, finally calming down.

Viv shakes her head. “You hush with that. This is what family does. You would be on this side if it was one of us sitting there.”

She’s right. I would be. Still, I feel like a burden.

Bailey takes out a first aid kit and goes through all my cuts and bruises. Then she looks in my eyes with a light.

“I don’t think you have a concussion from the accident, but Doc is coming by to check you out just to be sure,” she tells me.

A knock on the door has them stepping back. Viv opens it to show Fang on the other side.

I burst into tears again. He rushes forward, dropping to his knees in front of me.

“I’m so sorry, Cami. So fucking sorry,” he tells me, his head buried into my stomach.

I hear the door close behind him, leaving us alone.

“Jensen,” I sob.

“I’m here. I’m sorry I lost control like that.

Savage said you were out cold, but I don’t know if you saw anything.

If you did, I’m sorry. You should have never had to see me do something so barbaric.

I understand if you don’t want to be with me anymore.

I probably added to your trauma. You must hate me. ”

“You came for me,” I manage between a sob. “You saved me.”

He pulls back, cupping my cheek as he wipes my tears away.

“I will always come for you. Always and forever,” he tells me.

I suck in a breath, trying to calm my crying.

“I love you. So much,” I tell him.

His face softens. “I love you, little dancer. Please tell me you forgive me. I’m going to get you all the therapy after this.”

I chuckle, feeling better. “There is nothing to forgive. It’s true, I don’t like violence, but sometimes it’s warranted.

If you hadn’t shown up, he would’ve never stopped.

You stopped him from ever hurting me again.

I can’t be mad at you for that. I guess the difference is that your violence is because you want to protect me, not hurt me. I can live with that.”

“Thank fuck. I couldn’t have let you go. I would have stalked you,” he admits as he lays his head in my lap.

I run my hand through his hair. After a few moments, he looks up at me.

“Can I ask you something?”

I nod.

“Why is the floor wet?”

That sends me into a fit of laughter.

“The girls helped me shower,” I tell him.

He smirks. “I’m a jealous guy, little dancer. I don’t share. Not even with other females.”

“It wasn’t like that. It was more motherly. Like they wanted to take care of me.”

His smirk softens into a smile. “I know. They worry about you. They love you almost as much as I do.”

“Thank you for bringing them to me. For giving me this life.”

He pulls me in to kiss him. “Thank you for being mine.”

I don’t know how long we sit like that in the bathroom together, but I never want it to end.

I finally found my home, and it’s not a place.

It’s him.

It’s been a long twenty-four hours. After Cami was all cleaned up, I took her to bed. She only slept a few hours because she wanted to get up.

It’s why I’m sitting here waiting for the meeting to start while she hangs out with Bailey and Viv.

“How is she?” Savage asks as soon as the meeting is called to order.

“A few cuts and bruises, but surprisingly okay. I think it took more of a mental toll on her,” I tell the group.

“Well, we are all taking shifts watching her until she feels safe again. We won’t let this happen again,” Tiny announces.

“You guys don’t have to do that,” I tell them, knowing I had already planned to watch her closely.

“It’s not for you. It’s for her. She deserves to know that she has the whole club at her back. We won’t let anyone fuck with her,” Loyal vehemently says.

I’m shocked by how upset he seems.

“It’s no one’s fault,” I tell him more than anyone. “We had no idea that Biggy would have gone this far. He’s been a club member as long as I have. He has never broken any rules. Sure, he was annoying and liked to push buttons, but there was no way of knowing that he would finally snap.”

Loyal scoffs. “I should have been watching him closer.”

“I should have been too,” Crank calls out.

“Me too,” Tiny adds.

“All of us should have. We were waiting for his thirty days to elapse, and that was our mistake,” Savage says above everyone. “We learned a valuable lesson. I truly am sorry it was at Cami’s expense, and I plan to apologize to her personally as soon as she’s feeling up to it.”

“She will tell you it’s not necessary,” I inform him.

“I’m still doing it.”

I nod, knowing there is no changing his mind.

“Let’s get this call over with,” Savage grumbles, dialing his phone as he places it in the middle of the table for everyone to hear.

“If you are calling me, it can’t be good news,” Mist says as he answers the phone.

“It’s not. Your boy went and did something extremely stupid,” I tell him.

He groans. “What did he do this time?”

“He ran an old lady off of the road, abducted her, and held her in a motel. I hope you know that he was dealt with swiftly and lethally,” Savage tells him.

We can hear a light curse in the background. It puts him in a bad spot. One of his members was killed by another chapter. Even if he was attempting to patch over, it doesn’t matter. He is still technically under Mist’s control.

“Do what you have to do, but I won’t apologize for it,” Savage tells him.

“Can you wait to spread the news? I’ll get a vote from my crew within the hour. It should keep the rumor mill at bay for both of us,” he says.

“We appreciate you being accommodating.”

Savage is such a diplomat. I guess that’s why he’s the president. I wouldn’t have been able to keep my cool with this. I’m mad that Mist sent him here to hurt my woman.

I keep my mouth shut, though.

“Usually, I would be pissed you went and did this without my blessing, but he has always been a fuckup. I can’t believe he was stupid enough to go after an old lady. Please extend my sincerest apologies to her and her man, and thank you for handling the trash.”

“I’ll wait for your message before I send out the news.” Savage hangs up the phone, looking around the table.

“That went better than I anticipated,” Loyal admits.

“He would have done the same thing. He had no room to argue. It’s not like it was a valued member,” Tiny says.

“What did you do with the body?” I ask Savage.

“I left it for you. Take some brothers and handle it the way you choose. It’s in the back warehouse.”

I nod. “Are we adjourned?”

He bangs his gavel. “We are now.”

“I’ll go with you,” Loyal says.

“Me too,” Tiny adds.

As soon as I step out, I find Happy waiting.

“I want in on whatever it is you’re doing,” he tells me.

“How did you know?” I ask.

“Who do you think brought the body? The girls are distracting Cami. We have two hours.” He nods toward the entertainment room.

I’m so grateful she has the girls. They have really broken her out of her shell.

I fight the urge to go with her, knowing I need to deal with this first.

We all head out to the back warehouse. As soon as we step inside, I see the traitor in the middle of the room on the floor. He’s bloody, and you can’t even identify him with his skull caved in, but the anger inside of me says I could go another round with him and still have some left over.

“Find his Lotus tattoo. I want it cut off and burned.”

The guys are in motion as they put on their white painters’ coveralls. I do the same, not willing to let this man taint anything else in my life.

Tiny and Loyal work on the tattoo as Happy comes to my side.

“You still friends with that guy who takes donated human flesh?” I ask.

Happy nods. “He would love a donation. His freezer was pretty empty last time I was there.”

I like the idea of that. When Happy used to travel, he’d meet all sorts of people. He met one guy who enjoys eating flesh from time to time. At first, Happy thought he would have to take the guy out. Then he found out that the guy only takes flesh from donations of people already dead.

Today, he is going to be the best way to get rid of this asshole. I like the thought that he will be someone else’s shit by the time this is over.

“Let’s give him as much as he wants. Carve him up and leave whatever is left at the landfill.”

“Let’s get to work then.”
