“God,” she said incredulity, in a blatant ridiculous attitude. “Ha, as if! God doesn’t exist, you fucking idiot.”
When I lunged towards her, they held me down; taken me to the open soil they’ve set and dug in.
Emily crouched at my level, and tugged my hair under the veil hard. “You know, if I was Adrian, I would’ve dumped you sorry ass and have you die here in this forest. Guess what, Eva? Nobody will miss you, and even if you die, everyone would still blame you. Why? Because you’re a fucking witch who cursed everyone with your touch! I doubt anybody will care about you tonight. Forever. So any final words, Sister?” she said mockingly, “before I take this bracelet?” Emily reached for my golden bracelet that Adrian gave me.
“Yeah, I do,” I answered. “Go fuck yourself, you bitch!”
Profanity came out of my mouth for the first time. Never in my life cursed at someone. Until now, that is.
I spat hot blood on her and swatted her belt across my face, crying in agony.
Then the car came by the time Emily yelled and struck me on the ground, and in the dark, all I could see was a pair of gray rings around the pupils on his pitch-black eyes glowing with hatred underneath the dark mask.

Adrian
The engine on my car was not getting any faster. Maybe it’s a thin thread in my impatience had been telling the vehicle to speed the fuck up. Hitting the breaks escalated the anxiety, drowning me further to impulsion on hitting someone on the street, or a deer at a vacant road, trailing down to the wildlife forest.
This car was a fucking nuisance.
All I had to do is to follow the street names—Judas Iscariot Avenue, David and Goliath Lane, Red Sea Avenue, Samson Lane and Lucifer Route.
In an estimation of one mile ahead, passing through Lucifer Route., on a darken road, speeding up the vehicle. Biblical references were the last thing I needed to see and encounter.
This town is so fucking weird, I thought.Way too fucking weird. It feels like I’m in a Twilight Zone.
Driving past the signs, I headed out on a long road, wedged in between lavish trees. These lush pine trees carried the unsteadied disturbance erupting in my system, like something has been telling to pivot and return back. I tried not to be a coward, but a part of me was dying to escape from this hellhole. Fort Haven Forest felt like it has deepest secrets, secrets that I’ll never get to divulge, and even if I do, I might as love my life than burying myself deeper, my head spinning.
Eva, Eva, Eva.
But Eva is here, I thought.
What was she doing here? Why was she in this forest? This was unlike her. Eva wouldn’t be so reckless to come here.
Her sudden disappearance caused my anxiety to rattle. The longer she’s gone, the worse my madness is going to implode.
Mother frequently warned me to never step or drive into the forest at night, or somewhere at midnight.
But this overwhelming dread washed over me.
Stopping the car, I pulled the gear shift to parking mode, the engine still roared as I got out and slammed the car door, ambling quietly as the pebbles and grating soil crunched beneath my combat boots, listening in for a sound.
The location on the map from my screen, the red dot shifted and blinked, beeping.
Horror came in as I heard screams, screams behind these trees and bushes.
“Come and play with us, Eva!”a girl screamed with a violent thrill.
Getting back at the back of car trunk, I tucked my phone in and grabbed my mask, the bat, and the shovel, strapped my combat knife in my belt and hovered them over to the passenger’s seat. Getting inside the driver’s seat, not minding the alerted noise to buckle my seatbelt on, I drove, flattening the bushes and twigs and crushed completely, following the voices after I slid the car window down.
Curdling screams kept going, laughing in the forest air, swerving with my steering wheel sharply, and sped up the engine, flying in midair and by the time they appear on my sight, with Eva sat and trembled behind the hole, the car wheels screeched and I got out, watching them watch me, pausing in their tracks. As I darted my eyes to Eva, she’s already been bruised, bruised up badly. Worst of all, Emily and Romano were there.
Pathetic.
“Who’s this dude? Did you invite him, Em?” Romano said, exasperated from his run.
“Whoever you are, big guy,” Emily said, closing in on me, face-to-face, “get the fuck out and pretend you didn’t see anything. I mean, we we’re just playing.
