S arah’s emerald earrings matched her green fitted dress.
It hugged every curve making her feel as sexy as she did on her wedding day.
Devon was watching her hands as they moved down her body.
She knew they had to meet the lawyers and the directors of Marksmen Enterprises, but with her mate’s open appreciation as he looked at her, she couldn’t stop her hands from tracing her breasts.
Devon stepped over and grabbed her hands, pulling them around his body. “Sarah honey,” he chided.
“Yes,” she said innocently.
He looked down at her. “Baby your eyes are glowing.”
She sucked in a breath. She needed to reign her hussy of a cat in. “Sorry. I was thinking about your body. Maybe she was I can’t tell sometimes,” she confessed.
He rubbed her cheek with his. She had come to realize the gesture as more catlike than human signifying his animal was as close to the surface as hers was.
“I love the fact that you can’t stop thinking about me and I promise it does get easier to control your cat’s urges.” He looked at her again. “Do you need me? My cat thinks your heat is over, but if you are in any pain...”
She put her fingers to his lips. “No, it’s not like that. I was fantasizing about you, but I’m not in pain.”
“What kind of fantasies?” He said wickedly.
“Oh no, you don’t. If I tell you, we will never get out of here,” she laughed.
He winked. “You’re the boss.”
“Actually, after today, Brock will be the boss. If I can get my cat to stop thinking about her mate long enough to introduce him as the new CEO of OUR company.”
“You will be fine. I have every faith in you,” he said warmly.
Sarah nuzzled him, inhaling his masculine scent. She didn’t realize she was purring until she felt Devon go still. “I’m sorry.”
“Please don’t stop,” he said burying his head in her hair.
“You like it?” She wasn’t sure what to think of her new purr.
“It is a gift to one’s mate. Something only shared with each another and their children.”
“Well if you like it that much...” She purred as she rubbed against his cheek. Her heart flipped when he purred back. The low rumble so much deeper than her own.
There was a knock at the door. “Devon. Cade, Liam, and Luca are downstairs waiting for you,” Talen said.
“Be right down,” Devon replied.
Sarah looked at Devon with surprise. “I thought Hunter was coming with us?”
“Our week is up. He wants to find Racheal before the Kallans do.”
“I’m glad. I want her back here with us where she will be safe. If Brock can find the bunker maybe there will be something to help us find her or at least stop the Kallans from hunting her.”
“Brock will search every piece of property you own from top to bottom. He will find it.”
“My father has over twenty properties.”
“He will find it.” His faith in his brother was absolute.
She felt her cat’s pride in her mate match her own. She knew her eyes glimmered for a moment before she brought herself under control.
Devon allowed his cat to show through his eyes. Adoration. Pride. Love.
“I love you,” she said.
“And I love you, Mrs. Cascade.”
