Page 14 of Dreams Do Come True
About an hour after the announcement is made, I get a phone call from Monica.
“Hi, Monica.” I’m not concerned about her phoning me as she does phone now and then.
“Hi Titus. I need for you and Kean to come into the office as soon as you can.”
“Is something wrong?” I ask in concern.
“Yes and no. But can you both come nowish?”
“Sure, I’ll grab Kean and be with you in around three hours, four at the most.”
“Thank you, come directly to my office when you arrive.”
“Will do. See you later.”
“Titus, thank you.”
It sounds like Monica just breathed a sigh of relief, but before I can reply, she’s hung up.
I’m so confused, but I shut my computer down, pocket my phone and go in search of Kean. I arrive at his office door and knock.
He looks up and smiles. “Perfect timing, I’ve just finished.”
“Handsome, I’ve just had Monica on the phone; she wants to see both of us in her office as soon as we can get there.”
Kean frowns. “Did she say why?”
I shake my head. “No, but she sounded relieved when I said we’d be there in three to four hours. It means postponing our date.”
Kean stands. “Nope, date night in the car. We can take food and eat it on the way, or have drive-thru. See totally a date.”
I grin. “It is. If you pack a bag, we can stay in my flat tonight.”
“I finally get to see your flat.”
“You do, but it’s just a flat,” I point out.
“No, honey, it’s your flat. I’ll go pack a bag.”
“I’ll let my brothers know. Shall I make sandwiches, or shall we get drive-thru?”
“Drive-thru. Meet you by the front door in five.”
I leave Kean and head for my brothers’ lounge to see if they are home yet. I see Cass sitting with Sion.
“Evening,” I say, walking in.
“Hey, Tie, what’s up?” Cass asks.
“Kean and I have been called in to see Monica. We’re leaving as soon as Kean packs a bag. We’ll stay overnight and come back tomorrow.”
“Why do you both need to go in?” Sion asks.
“No idea, we’ll find out when we get there. I’ll message Temp to let him know.”
“Drive safe,” Cass says, jumping up and hugging me.
I pat his back. “Will do, see you both tomorrow.”
