I squeezed my eyes shut, tears leaking from the corners. This couldn’t be happening. Not this. Not my body proving him right.
His fingers moved inside me with practiced skill—curling, stroking, finding rhythms that made my hips twitch without permission. My back arched off the table, building toward something I fought with every cell in my body.
“Almost there,”he murmured, his face close to mine now. “I can feel it.”
When it happened—when the pleasure crashed through me against my will—I screamed. Not from pain, but from rage and humiliation so complete it felt like dying. My whole body convulsed, clenching around his fingers.
Varnar went perfectly still. Then he laughed. Soft. Amazed. Like he’d discovered something wonderful.
“She came.”He sounded almost reverent. “My God, she actually came.”
Dr. Alan’s pen stopped moving. The room filled with a silence that felt dangerous.
“That’s never happened before,”she muttered.
“Never.”Varnar was staring at me like I was something miraculous. “Not with Marion. Not with any of them. But she—”
“—Is still a patient.”Dr. Alan’s voice could’ve cut glass. “Still a subject. This changes nothing.”
“Doesn’t it?”He was still inside me, fingers no longer moving but just... there. Possessive.
“You hate me. I can see it in your eyes. But your body—”He smiled.
“Her body is responding to physical stimuli.”Dr. Alan moved to my left side. “Nothing more. You’re assigning meaning where there is none.”
“Am I?”His fingers moved slightly, and my oversensitive body jerked.
Real anger crept into Dr. Alan’s voice. “She’s not special. She’s not different. She’s a sacrifice, Varnar. Remember your place.”
Sacrifice? What the fuck was she talking about?
“My place?”He finally pulled his fingers out, and I curled onto my side as much as I could with my wrists still pinned. “I know exactly where—”
Dr. Alan slapped me. Hard. My already split lip burst open again, blood filling my mouth.
“Still resistant,”she observed, like she hadn’t just hit me. “The orgasmic response doesn’t indicate submission. If anything, it’s increased her hostility.”
She grabbed my breast and twisted until I cried out. “You think you’ve won something?”She leaned in, close enough that I could smell her perfume. “You think making him obsessed with you gives you power? You’re nothing. Less than nothing. And we’re going to prove it.”
She moved back to the foot of the table, selecting instruments from the medical tray with careful precision. I saw the scalpel’s silver gleam, and my whole body tried to curl tighter.
“Turn her over,”she instructed.
“Alan—”He resisted.
“Turn. Her. Over.”
Varnar hesitated for just a moment. Then he released my wrists and grabbed my shoulders, flipping me onto my stomach despite my struggles. My cheek pressed against the cold metal, my arms now pinned beneath me.
“Hold her down,”Dr. Alan said.
Varnar pressed one hand between my shoulder blades, keeping me flat. I could feel him beside me, his weight holding me still.
“Inner thigh first,”Dr. Alan said. I could hear her moving behind me. “Shallow cuts. We want her to feel everything.”
She was at the foot of the table. I felt her hand on my ankle, pulling my leg to the side to expose my inner thigh. The blade touched my skin like ice.
Then fire, as she drew it down in one smooth motion. I screamed into the table, my leg jerking involuntarily.
