“Oh, you know. Took me up on my offer of a shower, ripped my orgasm from me at the last minute then got his own and stormed out.”
She doesn’t recover from her shock quickly enough. Her chin is still hanging open when I turn back to her.
“He fucked you?” she asks.
I scoff. “No,” I damn near sulk. Fucking wish he had. I might be feeling less… frustrated right now.
I bite down on my bottom lip as I imagine how it might feel with him stretching me open with that massive—
“So what did—”
“Do we have to?” I ask with a wince.
“N-no. Not if you don’t want to. I’m just… he’s spent all this time not touching you and then—”
“He touched me and stormed out. He’s a fucking joke. I don’t even know why I’m here. Why insist on looking after me if he’s just going to bail?”
“Do you remember what happened last night?” Stella asks as I follow her out of Theo’s bedroom, although not before I dump my towel on the floor and mess up the bed he must have made while I was in the shower. It’s petty and means nothing in the grand scheme of things, but hell if it doesn’t make me feel better.
“Holy shit,” I mutter as the hallway opens up in the most incredible living room space. “It’s…”
“Black?” Stella asks with a laugh. “It’s funny, because I thought it would have been Daemon’s apartment that looked like it belongs to the devil, but his is somewhat normal. This, though… this is…”
“Incredible,” I breathe, looking around at everything.
I researched black interiors before I painted my bedroom at Mum’s place, and then Dad’s, and I was blown away by some of the houses. But this… what Theo’s done is way beyond anything I remember seeing online.
“It’s just like a bigger version of your bedroom.”
“Uh… I’m not sure the two could be compared.”
“Maybe you should show him yours,” she suggests with a wink.
“Oh yeah, that’s not going to be happening. Current situation aside, can you imagine my dad’s reaction if he found him in there? Not just any boy, oh no, the son of a legit mafia boss.”
“Could be a member of the MC. Can you imagine if it were Xander? Older and part of the club you should be nowhere near.”
“I need coffee,” I mutter, putting an end to this pointless conversation.
It doesn’t matter what boy I end up with. None will ever be good enough for my dad, I’m sure. And I really don’t need to worry about it being Theo because… ugh… just no.
“Wanna go grab breakfast?”
“I really, really do. Where’s Cal?”
“Down with Seb. Let’s go get her and have a girls’ day.”
“I am not going to a fucking spa,” I argue.
“We’ll see.” She winks, and I groan as if it pains me to even consider it.

Iblame it on the hangover, but much to my horror, Stella and Calli dragged me to Calli’s mum’s spa and forced me to kick back and relax as some softly spoken woman slapped some sweet-smelling shit on my face, and another fixed my nails after looking at my chipped black polish and dodgy cuticles with disdain written all over her face.
But I can’t deny that when I finally walk back into my house later that afternoon, I don’t feel a million times better than I did when I woke up, or even when I first looked at Stella.
“Hello?” I shout into the quiet house, but I get no response. Instead, I do find a note on the side.
