“You want me to fuck them out of her?” I ask, my brows hitting my hairline.
He stares at me, and for a moment, I’m sure I see my father in the dark depths somewhere.
“I know you better than you think I do, Theo. I know you’ve been pining after her since you first saw her. Go wild. You have my full blessing.”
I scoff at that. “Seems to me you’ve taken this a little further than your blessing, Boss,” I spit.
“You can thank me later. Now, was there anything else? We were in the middle of something.”
“This is a bad idea,” I tell him, narrowing my eyes as I back across the room.
A knowing smile tugs at the corners of his lips. “Just don’t kill her… yet.”
Without another word, I slip out of his office, not feeling any better about the situation than when I walked in. If anything, the knot in my stomach only grows.
Emmie is guilty of something. Something I need to get to the bottom of. Plus, I need to figure out who the fuck she really is. I fucking knew there was more to the story than anyone was letting on. Kids from the Lovell Estate don’t just enrol at Knight’s Ridge.
She’s got Cirillo Family blood running through her veins, I’d put fucking money on it.
But she’s not your sister,a little voice pipes up.
And damn it if my cock doesn’t start to swell as images of all the ways I can make her confess her sins pop into my mind.
“Only you would get away with that,” Galen chuckles as I storm back through the security room.
“Sometimes he does remember that he’s a father as well as a boss,” I grumble, keeping my eyes focused on the exit.
“What’s he got you doing this time, son?” Stefanos asks as I march past.
“You don’t want to know.”
I don’t know what else they might say. My entire focus is on escaping.
The second I’m in my car, I rev the engine and fly out of my allocated space in the underground car park entirely too fast, considering it’s almost full.
I don’t drive straight home like I should. Instead, my fingers grip the wheel until they start to cramp as I navigate my way through the city streets like some dickhead boy racer.
It doesn’t help, though. When I pull up outside our new building hours later, I’m as restless as ever and ideas of what Emmie might have done run around my head.
She has to be guilty. Surely the blame wouldn’t have been placed on her head otherwise.
But what is she hiding?
And why does my father think any of this is a good idea?
“The contract was a peace offering.”
Dad’s voice is as clear as day, and a shiver races down my spine.
It can only mean one thing. And if I’m right, then Emmie’s father really was onto something, trying to keep her away from the club.
She’s clearly not safe there if Ram would…
Shaking my head at the utter shitshow my life is turning into, I climb out of my car and head inside with every intention of taking all of this out on the state-of-the-art gym sitting in the basement.
