“Okay sweet girl, you be good at school today.”

“Okay mommy. I’ll miss you,” Sadie said as she reached her arms around my shoulders.

I gave my daughter a peck on both cheeks, kissing her dimples that she got from me.

Her pale blonde hair was pulled into a high ponytail and her dark brown eyes practically shone up at me.

My hair wasn’t light anymore, but wasn’t super dark, either.

I wanted to dye it some cool color, but Marshall said that was tacky.

“I’ll miss you, too, sweet girl. I love you,” I said as I put her down.

“Love you,” she said as she took off toward her seat in pre-k.

She’d only been enrolled a few weeks but seemed to enjoy it. It was still crazy to me that kids went to school the first week of August. It was so hot out.

Although I missed her during the day, it was probably best she was gone for a while. Marshall had been working the night shift for a while and he hated noise. It was hard to get Sadie out of the house in the morning quietly, especially when she was an excited four year old.

Some of the kids were still crying and begging not to be left at the daycare that had the pre-k program, so I was glad Sadie was adjusting so quickly.

But we did a lot of play dates with mommy groups I found online and spent a lot of time at the library until she started a few weeks ago.

But a lot of those were later starts, so we had a special quiet game we played in the mornings and I let her sleep later so she wouldn’t be loud.

I did whatever I could to keep the house quiet when he was home, which meant lots of activities elsewhere and creative ideas with a rambunctious child.

After the short drive back to our modest ranch, I gently shut the car door, then slowly turned the knob to the side door that led to the kitchen.

Marshall was up when I first woke up around six, but had gone to lie down before I got her up for the day.

I was used to showering and getting dressed before he went to bed, so I was usually up around the same time every day.

He would get home around that time, I’d fix him something to eat, then go get ready. He couldn’t go straight to bed after his shifts, so he’d watch TV for a while or something until he got drowsy. Sometimes he’d catch me after my shower and want to fuck or demand I suck him off.

Nothing says good morning like a sweaty dick in your mouth. But that was better than the alternative. It was best to not upset him, especially after a shift.

Sneaking through the kitchen, I grabbed my mug I’d left on the counter and poured some more coffee. I had it on a timer to brew a few minutes before I woke, and it auto-shut-off after four hours so it was still hot.

After a generous amount of flavored creamer, I swirled it around, not wanting to use a spoon and clank it on the mug.

Ready to take my first sip, I raised my mug to my lips.

“Could you have been any louder?”

Yelping, I jumped and managed to hold my mug, but splashed the hot liquid over my hand. “Marshall, shit. You scared me.”

I put the mug down and turned the cold water on in the sink, running it over my hand.

“Is that all you have to say?”

“I–I’m sorry. I didn’t realize I’d made any noise.”

Marshall stomped over from the living room that was dark from the black out curtains we had through the rest of the house.

His short, dirty blond hair was disheveled and his beard needed a comb.

The glare from his glasses hid his eyes until he was closer.

Once I could make them out, they were demon-like slits.

He came up behind me, gripping my neck, his hot breath dancing over it.

“Getting her out the door sounded like a fucking stampede. Can’t you control her? ”

Stiff in his hold, I said, “I’m sorry. I did my best but she’s four–”

He snarled in my ear. “Your best fucking sucks.” He shoved my neck, sending me over the sink, my hands on either side of the basin so I didn’t hit the faucet with my face. He reached around my waist and unbuttoned my shorts.

“M–m–Marshall, please.” Not this again.

My shorts and panties were pulled off my hips, falling to my knees. He shoved my face down into the sink. My body shook. I couldn’t stop the faint whimpers that escaped my throat.

As the belt cracked against my bare thighs, I cried out. “Please!”

“Shut up!” he shouted as the belt whipped my ass this time.

My fingers tried to find purchase, but instead my nails just bent on the counter as I braced for the next hit.

Tears streamed down my face, but I held my breath to fight making any sounds.

I didn’t know if that would help or make it worse.

He never had any rhyme or reason to his rages.

But something in me didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of another plea.

The belt licked my skin twelve times, and the burn began to go numb. Once he stopped, heaving behind me, I still clutched the edge of the sink where it met the counter. I was afraid to move. At least it was only my ass that took the beating this time.

My whole body was frozen and buzzing somewhere between being numb and blood pumping to force my muscles to feel when he kicked my feet apart and without warning, I was filled from behind.

Still refusing to give him the satisfaction of another cry, I let my tears silently fall as I fought making any sound until he was done.

I wasn’t ready for him, and each thrust felt like I was tearing, but I knew better than to move or fight back. After only a few more pumps, he grunted, slamming my hips to the counter as his hot cum filled me.

Once he pulled out, a hand towel landed on my shaking fingers.

“Clean yourself up.”

Once I heard the door to our bedroom close, I ran the sink to wet the towel, then patted between my legs, cleaning the mess he left while trying not to further the pain.

I trembled as I pulled my panties and shorts back up, the numbness wearing off and the unbearable sting being exacerbated by the cotton fabric against my ass and thighs.

Blinking away tears, I wiped my cheeks with my shaky thumbs and decided to get a cold bottle of water from the fridge to cool my throat, abandoning my coffee on the counter.

Looking back toward the hall, I didn’t hear any movement, so I opened the cabinet that I kept over-the-counter meds in and pulled out the bottle that held enemas from when Sadie was backed up as a toddler. I’d hidden some Plan Bs in there.

After taking the pill with a big gulp of water, I let out a ragged breath, but thanked whatever God there was that Sadie wasn’t home this time.
