Page 21 of Deceiver (Soul Chasers #2)
Wilder
K eagan appears at the bottom of the stairs with a dazed expression still on his face. I’m deeply concerned that something happened to him in this supposed dream, but he seems pretty normal so far, except for the very obvious erection he still has.
Which isn’t helpful for me right now. I’m afraid it’s been a little too long since I last indulged, and that’s a distraction I don’t need. It doesn’t hurt that Keagan is extremely attractive as well.
“What are you in the mood to eat?” I ask, trying to distract myself.
He shrugs. “I could eat anything. I’m really not picky.”
“There’s a sub shop down the street that has really good sandwiches.”
“Sure, that sounds good. Honestly, you can order anything and I’ll eat it.”
“You don’t want to look at the menu?”
He shakes his head. “Nah, I’m good. I don’t have the energy for that right now.”
“Okay, no problem. I’ll take care of ordering.”
“Thanks.”
He shuffles over to the couch and plops down. His hand moves between his legs, rubbing, but then he abruptly pulls it away.
“Sorry,” he mumbles. “I don’t know what’s going on.”
“It’s okay.”
“I’ve never really been this sensitive before, and nothing even remotely sexual happened in my dream, so I don’t understand what’s happening right now.”
“If it doesn’t go away soon, maybe I’ll call Calliope and ask her if she knows something that could help.”
Keagan groans. “God, that’s embarrassing, but I guess so.”
“Don’t be embarrassed. It’s a natural reaction.”
“Not in this situation. I shouldn’t be feeling anything like this right now.”
“Is it just your body, or is it your mind, too?”
His brow furrows as he seems to be considering my question. Then his cheeks turn bright red and he looks away from me.
“Keagan?”
He blows out a breath. “Seems to be something going on in my mind.”
Interesting. “I’ll go order the sandwiches.”
He nods, wringing his hands together.
I leave Keagan in the living room and walk to the kitchen to put a little space between us. I’ve experienced a lot of things in my time as a Soul Chaser, but I’ve never had one of my targets have a dream and then wake up a total horndog.
It’s distracting, to say the least, but I try to put it out of my mind and focus on the task at hand.
First dinner, then I need to figure out how to get back to Keagan’s house without leaving him alone. I know he’s scared, but maybe I can get him to put enough trust in Calliope’s spell that he’ll feel safe in the house, even if I’m not here.
After ordering the sandwiches, I fill up a glass with water and bring it out to Keagan.
He’s still sitting on my couch with his hands between his legs, rubbing his erection through his jeans.
His eyes are closed, his lips parted, and he looks like he’s heading towards an orgasm.
I should walk away and give him privacy, but I’m absolutely fascinated by what could be causing this in him.
He opens his eyes, suddenly focusing on me. “Come here.”
“What?”
“Come over here, Wilder. Please.”
Tentatively, I walk over and sit next to him on the couch. “You okay?”
He nods as his teeth sink into his plush bottom lip. “I’m good.”
“Are you still feeling weird?” I ask, though I’m pretty sure I know the answer.
He shakes his head and actually licks his lips. “No, I feel fine. Good, in fact.”
“Okay, well, the food should be here in about twenty minutes.”
“Food?” His eyes are trained on my lips.
“I ordered dinner, remember?”
“Oh, right, yeah. I remember.” He laughs softly, but the sound comes across hollow.
“Keagan, are you sure you’re okay? Is something going on that I should know about?”
“Like what?” he asks as he scoots a little closer to me.
“I don’t know. Something going on in your head right now.”
“No,” he answers calmly, but I’m aware that he’s still moving closer to me every time he speaks. “You’re really hot, you know, Wilder. Like, really hot. Super good looking. You probably know that, but I wanted to tell you.”
“Thank you. You’re also attractive.”
“Yeah? You think so?”
“I do. We talked about this earlier.”
“I don’t remember.” He puts his hand on my thigh. “You’re not just hot though. There’s something else about you. Something other guys don’t have.”
“That’s accurate.”
He exhales slowly, leaning in. “Is there a rule against hooking up?”
I pull my head back slightly. “What do you mean?”
“You don’t know what hooking up is?”
“I do, but I want clarity on what you’re asking me.”
“Are you allowed to hook up with your targets?” he asks, his voice softening and his fingers digging gently into my skin through my pants. “Because I think that would probably help a lot.”
More than a little surprised, I gently push his shoulders back to keep him at bay. “You’re really attractive, and under different circumstances, I would be into it, but this feels like it’s coming out of nowhere.”
“It’s not,” Keagan insists. “It’s been building up ever since the first time I saw you, and now I can’t resist it anymore. That’s all.”
He shifts until he’s close enough to climb onto my lap, wrapping his arms around my neck and grinding against me.
“If you’re interested, Wilder, I’m interested.”
My cock responds to him, swelling and pressing against my slacks.
How could I not react? Keagan’s body is warm, he’s attractive, and he’s rubbing all over me.
I’m not against consensual activities between adults, but I’m not certain this is consensual on his part.
He almost seems like something’s directing him. But maybe I’m just overthinking it.
“Keagan.” I place my hand around the back of his neck, and his eyelids flutter at my touch.
“Yes?”
“I need to know that this is something you really want. It feels a little out of nowhere for me.”
“But it’s not. I’m attracted to you, and I have been since we met. I was trying to keep it professional, but I just can’t help myself. I think that’s why I can’t get rid of this. It’s too much.” He drags his hand down my chest. “I feel you. I know you want this too.”
“You’re really sure?” I gaze into his eyes, studying his expression.
He holds my gaze as his lips twist up in a small smile. “I’m very sure. I don’t do things I don’t want to do.”
My body heats as I nod. “What were you thinking?”
Keagan puts his hand over my bulge, rubbing gently. “Now that’s what I’m talking about,” he says, rubbing harder. “You could fuck me right here.”
“Oh shit,” I murmur as my body reacts to his words.
“You want it too, right?” Keagan whispers, then he leans in and drags his tongue up my cheek. “You want me as much as I want you?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I do.”
“Then don’t hold back. We’re both adults.”
“We are.”
Normally, I like to wait until the Horror is gone before I hook up with my targets, but Keagan is proving irresistible.
“Keagan?”
“Yeah?” He leans in, taking my earlobe between his teeth.
I moan as my cock swells violently. “Maybe we should…” I can barely get words out.
My brain is so scrambled. This is a strange reaction to him. Normally, I’m very much in charge of myself and my emotions, but the suddenness of his desire and the intensity of it is creating chaos in my thoughts.
“We should get to it,” Keagan says, already reaching between us and unbuttoning his jeans.
He slides off my lap and gets on his knees between my legs before reaching up and quickly working to unbutton my pants.
Warning bells are going off in my head telling me to slow this down, but the part of me that would really like to get my hands on this gorgeous man is apparently in charge right now.
Keagan manages to get my pants open and confidently reaches in to pull my cock from my briefs.
He moans as he strokes me, gazing down and licking his lips. “God, I knew you would be impressive. Everything about you is.”
I don’t say anything in reply. I can’t. All I can do is keep my eyes on the sexy man between my legs.
He wastes no time drawing me into his mouth, and I moan again, throwing my head back, reveling in the soft, heated plushness of his mouth.
“Fuck, Keagan,” I murmur, twisting my fingers through his hair. “Feels so good.”
He’s sucking me as if his life depends on it, and I can barely catch my breath, so I just lean back, trying to take it all in and enjoy every second of it.
Keagan is focused on his task, sucking and slurping and reaching down to massage my balls. Goddamn, he knows what he’s doing, that’s for sure.
“So good,” he mumbles without removing me from his mouth. “So damn good. It’s been too long.”
“Me too,” I pant, trying to keep myself calm so I don’t blow too quickly.
“Does it feel good? Am I pleasing you?”
“You’re incredible,” I murmur. “So good.”
Keagan shows me no mercy, sucking and stroking me until I’m on the edge of a much needed orgasm.
“You gonna come for me?” He lifts his head while stroking me. “Are you gonna fill my mouth with cum?”
“Fuck.” When did this mild-mannered, soft-spoken guy turn into this?
“I love to swallow,” Keagan says, dragging his tongue up my shaft. “So give me all of it.”
“Jesus,” I murmur. “You’re so fucking hot, Keagan.”
“So are you.”
He returns to his task, clearly intent on taking me over the edge, and when he does, my body stiffens.
My breath catches in my throat as the first sticky rope of cum shoots through me, landing in his waiting mouth.
He moans and makes other obscene noises as he swallows every drop I feed him like he needs this to live.
All I can do is lean back and ride it out with my hand tangled in his hair.
He sucks me until I’m too sensitive to take any more, and I push gently on his head.
Keagan lays his head on my thigh, licking his lips with a dopey smile on his face. “Damn. I needed that.”
My brain slowly comes back online. “I can, um, I can do you now,” I manage to say. “I want to. I just need a few minutes to collect myself.”
“That’s okay. I didn’t expect anything in return. That was enough for me. For now.”
“Are you sure?” I manage to pry my eyes open. Keagan has the same blissful expression on his face that he had minutes ago.
“Yeah, I’m sure. Besides, I want you to fuck me later, so you need your rest now.”
I shake my head. The way he talks is blowing my mind.
“I was trying to ignore the attraction I felt for you,” he says softly.
“So was I,” I admit. “I’m not against having fun together, but?—”
Keagan stops me from speaking by shaking his head. “You don’t have to say it. I know this isn’t something major. If anything, it’s probably trauma bonding for me. I’m not expecting more.”
His answer, while being exactly what I wanted, leaves me feeling oddly empty. “It’s not that I don’t want more, I just don’t believe this is the kind of life to bring somebody else into.”
Keagan nods. “I get it. You’ve explained it to me. This was fun, right? A little stress release.”
I nod. “It was nice.”
“So that means we can do it again?” He rubs his hand up and down my thigh. “Because I’d definitely like to do that again, and next time you can fuck me. Would you like that?”
“Jesus, Keagan, you didn’t come across as somebody who would have such a filthy mouth.”
He laughs. “Did you think I was a Boy Scout?”
“Not exactly, but not this.”
He laughs, getting to his feet. “Maybe I’m full of surprises.”
“I guess you are.”
Just minutes later, the doorbell rings, and Keagan flinches.
“It’s okay. It’s the food, remember?”
“Oh, right.”
“Besides, Horrors don’t tend to ring the doorbell.” I wink as I get to my feet.
Keagan laughs. “Good to know.”
I tuck myself in and button my pants as I walk to the door. When I open it, the delivery person is just setting the bag down on my front stoop.
“Thanks.”
He waves as he walks back to his car. I take the bag inside and gesture for Keagan to follow me to the dining room. I set everything out, offering him a sandwich and a bag of chips, and he digs in heartily, eating for several minutes without saying anything to me.
“I do feel a little bit different now,” he says.
“What do you mean by different?”
He picks up a chip and chews for a second. “I don’t know. Like, that was way more horny than I normally feel. And right now, I’m starving. It’s like I haven’t eaten in days.” He looks down at his food. “It tasted really good too. Like nothing I’ve ever had before.”
“The sandwich?”
Keagan shakes his head. “No. You. Is that because you’re a Soul Chaser or because you’re immortal? Does it make you taste better than regular men?”
I tilt my head. “I—no one’s ever said that to me before. I have no idea.”
“Oh. Well, you do taste better than the average man.” He grins. “The sandwich is fucking awesome too.”
I nod, taking in the information. The sandwiches are good, but they’re not extraordinary by any means. His senses seem to be heightened in some way. I wonder if Calliope’s spell has had some kind of unseen effect on him that we weren’t aware of.
“Anything else different?”
Keagan glances around the room. “Not really. I feel pretty normal otherwise, it’s just like—I don’t know—everything tastes better, and my appetite for things is stronger.”
“Interesting. Something we’ll keep an eye on it. Finish eating. We’ll talk more later.”
“And fuck. Don’t think I forgot.”
“How could I?”
Keagan’s smile is bright, and he looks more alert than he has since Calliope cast the protection spell.
That little nap did something to him. Exactly what it did is yet to be discovered.
Not that I’m complaining that he’s interested in being physical with me, but I have a nagging sense that there’s more going on than meets the eye.
