Story: Dangerous Double-Jeu

Chapter 9

Cyrus

Away from the bustling city centre and Eve’s hassle, Cyrus was lost in thought. He had found out about the newly found body before everyone thanks to his contacts at the station, and would soon have Ian’s confirmation that he had fucked this girl too, a while ago.

And a fool was trying to blame him for the crimes, driving Erik to look into him for the sake of it. These imbeciles would never understand him.

But knowing the cunning nature of Lois nothing could be left to chance, the man was probably trying to cause trouble behind the scenes, pushing the actual Commander to act. Cyrus had a genuine appreciation for Erik, and he didn't want to embarrass him before his retirement, which he thoroughly deserved. Which meant he had a few weeks to conquer his new target — Eve.

She was driving him crazy, and he was fully aware of it. He had high hopes for the night before and was not planning to be left at the door of the building like a virgin with blue balls as soon as he gave her back her necklace.

Cyrus was not known to be a man of patience, in anything, which, now that he thought about it, might be the reason he was in trouble. Three women, three ex-conquests, three one-night stands. Unlike Eve, they didn’t reject him for a good night of fun.

At first it had been more of a game, the girl was attractive. But what truly captivated him was her perpetual indignant gaze and her resistance. Cyrus sighed; he was such a cliché. He stood by the window observing his two friends frolicking in the park adjacent to their house. Cyrus wasn’t used to being resisted. Man, w oman, banker, restaurateur… Everyone said yes to Cyrus McRory. Out of respect. Or fear.

But she was stubborn! Ian found it absolutely hilarious and loved telling his lover about the office scene.

Their intimate time at the restaurant at least made him feel confident he would get to her after all. Her hardened nipples and her drenched pussy… He felt himself getting tight again in his jeans.

His two best friends had already made bets on whether he would end up fucking the beautiful French. Ian, the traitor, thought she was playing with him and that she probably wouldn’t give it up again. Zorfied, his true best friend, was quite confident in Cyrus’s skills.

Ian even went to the extent to give Cyrus advice. ADVICE! From a gay man who has only had one lover ever in his life. “ Don’t do anything you would normally do with your other conquests.”

Cyrus shook his head. He never had trouble getting a damn girl before, either his body or his money always helped. But Eve apparently didn't care about his money. Though, he was pretty sure he had seen her looking at his butt on their date.

“Behave and don’t be pushy.” This last point would be the hardest since Cyrus only had one desire, pushing Eve against a wall and taking off her clothes. His pants got even tighter remembering the low backline she wore Saturday night.

Cyrus let out a sigh, adjusted his pants, and decided to visit his friends to distract himself. Before leaving, he grabbed his phone and composed a message to Eve.

All things considered, a dress showing more of this amazing breast of yours should do the trick.

The answer came back swiftly — a selfie of the young woman sticking her tongue. Cyrus chuckled, at least she had a sense of humour.

Eve

Back at the police station, Eve set down her phone, glancing around to see if anyone had seen her, even though she was alone in her office. Aware that playing the game of cat and mouse with the bad boy would get her into trouble. She sighed trying to focus on her work, connecting to the police resource to find Ian’s professional contact. After the war, and for obscure reasons, it was decided the police forces could no longer exchange profilers. The various conspiracies and collaborations had made the different countries totally paranoid. In Ireland, the problem was that there was only one left alive.

Eve would never have guessed that this sweet and discreet character was a talented profiler. There was a good chance he'd tell Cyrus all the details, even if Erik made it clear he could not. At least he seemed to have his head on his shoulders, compared to Cyrus or Zorfield.

Five minutes later, after a quick call to Ian, and trying to not pay attention to Cyrus’s loud laugh in the background, she was quite happy. Eve pushed her chair and headed to room 3, where the team was reconstructing the murders from the beginning. A huge white board with tons of photos and comments was starting to take place. Probably trying to find the famous common ground.

Some lived literally two streets next to Eve's. Anyone else would freak out, but Eve thought it was more annoying that this killer was so close to her home. Sorry boy, there's only room for one crazy killer in this town.

She came into the room without knocking, heads raising up at her entrance, before falling back when they saw it was her. She should be used to this, as a rather cute woman she had always had two reactions. People either thought she was a lovely idiot, or they thought she was a lovely and easy idiot. At the police station, it was option one. Most didn't really know why Erik hired her and there had been rumours about them, which quickly stopped when they saw Eve hugging Erik's wife.

Erik spotted her and after quickly finishing his conversation with Bonnie, walked over.

He sighed. “Come on, swing.”

“ Ian has gladly accepted to work on the cases, he is aware of the… um… problems, his relationship with Cyrus could cause and is more than happy to work only at the station with no files or info coming out.”

She took a quick breath while Erik glanced at the inspectors, who were acting as if they were not listening. But were.

“Thank you Eve,” Erik sighed. “Let’s see how it goes.”

Eve smiled to her friend and was going to leave the room, leaving them to their work, when Erik stopped her, a hand on her arm. She turned to him, surprised.

“When Ian is around, and if Cyrus is sneaking in here too, try not to get on his path eh?” Erik was looking at her behind his glasses, a concerned look on his face. Eve held back a scoff, glad he had no idea about her naughty behaviour.

“Of course.”

She smiled, trying to take a quick last look at the white board behind Erik before leaving but didn’t want to look too obvious. She should think about getting better at espionage though, because she was next on the list of serial killers to find.

Sitting back at her desk, she read Cyrus’s message again, and with a heavy guilt she decided to play.

Cyrus

Cyrus looked down at his phone when another text came through, interrupting his suspicion of Ian, who had been acting weird since he received a call. Zorfield didn’t seem to be bothered about it, but then, it was Zorfield, he didn’t bother about much anyway, Cyrus was much more paranoid.

A snarly smile spread when he saw Eve’s name and opened the video she sent. He scoffed at the view of her fingers, pulling at her nipple, playing around her breast, squeezing it, making him want to be the one to play with her body. A growl escaped him when the video stopped, deciding to play it again, and again. His fr iends could make fun of him as much as they wanted, he was going to get the girl.

And she is going to scream my name.
