Page 59 of Cruelly Bitten
I expected him to tell me to shift onto all fours, just like he’d done when he’d wanted to fuck me before, but he said nothing.Instead, he essentially held me against him while he examined me, using his hand to maneuver me as needed.
He checked my sides and my arms, then continued on to my torso before sweeping back up to my breasts.
It was all very clinical, and yet, there was something undeniably sensual about the way he moved me around to meet his needs. His touch wasn’t harsh, just sturdy. Confident, even.
But as he reached my legs, he seemed to falter a little. Mostly when he brought the scanner near my inner thighs.
The blood from his wound had dried against my skin, my body having mostly healed the bite, thanks to his essence running through my system.
He studied it for a long moment, hunger seeming to darken his irises into a deep, oceanic blue. I wondered if he wanted to lick me clean, and I couldn’t stop myself from imagining it.
His tongue against my clit. His mouth warming that intimate part of me. His fingers…
I swallowed, the thoughts making my lower limbs clench just as the device dipped between my thighs. But the metal wasn’t what I craved. It wasn’t what I needed or desired at all.
And the slight twitch at the corners of Cam’s mouth told me he knew it, too.
He slowly scanned my intimate flesh, drawing me deeper into a strange state of need.
This shouldn’t be turning me on. I… I don’t want to enjoy this…
My throat worked, my mind seeming to splinter between remembering my reality and losing myself to the touch of my mate.
But he’s notmyCam. He’s… he’s someone… something….
His palm grasped my hip before drifting down my leg to continue guiding me around like a doll. Each touch waspurposeful and efficient, but as he neared my hurt ankle, his grip lessened.
His fingers brushed the skin, making me flinch slightly because the featherlight stroke tickled. “Does it hurt?” he asked, his voice deceptively soft.
I considered my ankle, surprised to find that it no longer ached. “It’s mostly healed,” I admitted. Which meant he’d been scanning me for a lot longer than I’d realized.
Given how thorough he was being, that made sense. I was more surprised by how easily I’d fallen under his spell and forgotten exactly what it was we were doing.
Rather than verbally reply, he nodded and finished examining my lower limbs.
The device hadn’t made a single sound, just like I’d expected. Which made it extremely satisfying to hold his stare when he finally looked at me again.
“Straddle me, lioness,” he said, his choice of nickname almost surprising me as much as his demand. “Now.”
He twisted his body away from mine, his feet planting on the floor.
The action forced me to crawl around him to settle onto his lap, something I normally wouldn’t have minded, but the action reminded me of Michael’s silent presence. He stood a few feet away from the bed, giving him a full view of my naked form as I parted my legs over Cam’s muscular thighs.
Goose bumps pebbled along my arms, my back feeling utterly exposed to the other man’s view.
But then Cam wrapped his palm around my nape again and suddenly he was the only one I could see. His beautiful irises. Chiseled jaw. Cruelly handsome lips. So full and perfect. His defined cheekbones. His thick, dark hair.
I could feel his strength beneath me, his soul tethered to mine.
I’m safe.
Except I wasn’t safe at all. Danger practically poured off of him in dark, toxic waves, drowning me beneath a sea of malice.
I didn’t understand. I’d passed his test. I’d done nothing wrong.
And yet I could sense his intent to punish. To hurt. Tokill.
His grip tightened, pulling upward and forcing me to balance my weight on my knees as he exposed my backside entirely to Michael.
