“Landon, turn around and go get the pack. Everyone. Damnit, definitely get Teagan and Shamus first and bring them to me now. Their kids were all with Jacky and Carey.” Heath pointed back to the open door, and Landon was already moving. A second later, Hasan and Subira were there, coming through.

“We’ll find Jacky,” Subira said quickly, her clothing looking insanely out of place in his packhouse. She clearly hadn’t been prepared to step into the modern world today. It almost knocked Heath off his stride.

“Can you?” Heath asked.

Subira lifted her hands and chanted something in a language Heath couldn’t even identify. She inhaled deeply at the end as the smell of magic filled the pack house. Her eyes became those of a werecat, bright in the lights of his office in the real world.

“Yeah, I can find her,” Subira said. “My charm activated. My magic will lead me to her. It’s clung to her since the Change was forced.”

“I have the pack coming. The Tribunal went on red alert and is collecting everyone and bringing them for us!” Landon yelled out from inside, running through the door a moment later.

“We have to wait on them,” Heath said, feeling deeply impatient, but he knew he couldn’t do anything effectively without the pack together and on the same page.

“Niko is calling,” Davor said, leaving the office as he answered.

“Tell him to drive as quickly as he can,” Hasan ordered. There was no confirmation that Davor heard, but they heard Davor on the phone.

“You saw the news? Good. Father and Mother are here. We need you too. Call and tell our siblings we’re here already working on this while you drive. See you soon.” The beep of a disconnect. “He’s on the way! He’ll tell everyone else.”

“Get the witch,” Subira said sharply next, in the most commending tone Heath had ever heard from her.

“Olivia?” Heath frowned. “Why?”

“We’re going to need her healing abilities,” Subira answered. “If they forced the charm I gave Jacky to activate, that means they did mortal damage to her, Heath. Which means they can do it again,” Subira snapped.

“Hasa— Grandfather, take my truck,” Dirk said, his words unsure. Hasan grabbed the keys Dirk offered. “Black one. Landon and I will ride with Heath in the back of his if we have to.”

“Thank you, Grandson,” Hasan said, quickly touching Dirk’s shoulder. Then he turned back to Subira. “Can you track the witch? You know her magic well.”

Subira raised her hand again and nodded.

“She’s actually very close. She’s running toward us.”

Subira was then moving, going out to meet Olivia.

Finally, members of the pack were showing up, all having run.

“Let’s move to the main room,” Heath ordered, waving people out of his office, which couldn’t accommodate everyone.

They filed out. Heath did a head count of his werewolves as Subira walked back in with Olivia, who looked scared.

“The news at Kick Shot. I was there for dinner, hoping to be there when everyone got back from Dallas and the Tribunal…” She was shaking, and Teagan ran for her, wrapping his arms around her.

“What was on the news?” Teagan asked.

“We’re going to talk about that,” Heath said.

“This is a red alert.” He raised his voice, transitioning from speaking to only Teagan to the entire pack.

“Jacky, Carey, Stacy, Kody, Arlo, and Benjamin were in Tyler tonight. The werewolves were on guard duty. All we know right now is that Carey was grabbed and put into an SUV; she’s been kidnapped or was being kidnapped.

Jacky killed someone on camera. There was a chase, or still is a chase, in Tyler. ”

“They dropped the chase right as they left town,” Davor spoke up, adding new information. “Tyler’s police report they contacted more appropriate authorities. Apparently, Jacky used her telepathy on a mass group of people, so everyone knows Carey was in that SUV as well.”

“The BSA will be here as soon as they can, then,” Heath said, hating that. They were going to get in the way, and he was having a hard enough time. He just wanted to be running for his daughter and his love. But now, he also had two fathers who had no idea where their children were, either.

Shamus was already trying to call, nearly pulling out his own hair as he cursed when no one picked up.

“Come on, Stacy!” he pleaded to the phone.

“The boys,” Olivia whispered.

“You two are with me,” Subira said, pointing at Olivia and Teagan.

Heath nodded to Teagan, giving him silent permission to follow Olivia with the werecats.

“Carlos, Piper, and Roselyn. You three will stay here and hold the packhouse. Keep the BSA busy if they come here first. Ranger, go to Jacky’s home, and do the same there. Dirk, Landon, and Shamus, you’ll come with me. Move out!”

And everyone jumped into action.

Subira and Hasan led the group out of the building, moving the fastest. Subira jumped into the back of Dirk’s truck, Teagan with her.

Olivia was pointed to sit in the cab with Hasan.

Heath got into his own truck, Shamus inside with him, while Landon and Dirk landed in the back hard enough to bounce the truck. Ranger got into his car and waited.

From there, everyone split up, Subira and Hasan going toward Jacky. Heath knew he had to do things more officially, no matter what else he wanted. He was headed for the restaurant where his daughter, love, and four young werewolves were supposed to be safe.

Heath hadn’t been overly religious in centuries, since he became a werewolf and his concept of God and religion and myth changed.

Now, all he could do was pray, hoping any gods heard him.
