Chapter twenty-nine

Kingston

I find the remains of Edric’s old house a few blocks over. He hasn’t come with, but then, his home life held nothing that made him want to ever return to it. It’s the backyard that is my goal. I grip Bailey’s hand tighter and drag him through the rubble.

Out the back is a single solitary tree. It’s large, and the trunk is thick. I let go of Bailey and climb up until I’m hidden in the foliage.

“Why are you in a tree?” Bailey asks in exasperation.

“Because you need to come up here and see this.”

Bailey sighs but climbs up and shuffles until he’s sitting next to me.

“Now, why am I up in the tree?”

I point to the carvings. He goes silent, his fingers drifting over the grooves.

“When did she do this?”

“Selene carved this when we were kids. Edric would hide from his dad up in this tree. It was his one safe place. So, sometimes we would sneak in and climb up and hang out here with him until his dad fell asleep or left.”

I follow the memory of her carving our initials in the wood and surrounding it with the giant heart.

“She said we were destined to be together.” I smile and lean my head back against the trunk. “However, those two letters, B and R, they were not there when we came back a few weeks ago.”

Bailey snaps his head in my direction. He turns back to the trunk and reaches out, dragging his fingers across them, loitering on the new marks .

“Why are you showing me this?”

I lean closer to the omega. “Because I know you’re still thinking this doesn’t work, and it’s not quite fitting right. Because you are wondering where you fit.” I tap the trunk. “You fit here. Selene decided.”

Bailey doesn’t say anything, so I lean back, getting more comfortable.

“Selene is the one who pulled us together. When we hit our alphas and started presenting, we could easily have imploded. We were strong, too strong. Our personalities clashed. We couldn’t find a way to fit together.

But she smoothed us out, took the edges off our tempers, made us want to change so we didn’t make her unhappy.

Becoming Pack Dread was a choice, Bailey.

I know we stole your bonds during a heat, but you still have to choose us. ”

Bailey watches me. I can feel it, but I keep my eyes on the light dancing through the leaves.

“I did choose.”

“Did you, though? One foot out the door isn’t in.”

He doesn’t answer me, and, after a while, I get this itchy need to get back, so I swing out of the tree and drop to the ground.

I pause, looking back. “Are you coming?”

Bailey drops, but, before I can take a step, he slams me against the bricks, pinning me there.

I wiggle back, almost purring. “Did I upset my poor little baby, Omega?”

Bailey growls and shoves me hard. I laugh as I bounce off the bricks, but it dies in my throat when he presses up against me, and I feel how hard he is for me. That omega apple pie scent entwined with vanilla steals all my good intentions.

“Bailey, you’re about to lose your chance to choose.”

He presses his nose against my neck.

“I did choose. I chose this pack.”

“Who are you, then?” I tease in a whisper.

“I’m Bailey Dread.”

A shiver goes up my spine. The pure, glorious pleasure of hearing those two words come out of his mouth.

I wait for him to get nice and relaxed, nuzzling my neck, and then I spin and twist out of his hold, reversing out positions.

With a playful bite on his shoulder, I grip his hips and slide my hands down and up the front of his thighs. His cock is long, thick, and hard, and when I drag my hand over it, the omega in my arms shudders violently.

“Tell me what you want? ”

“I want you to fuck me hard and fast.”

I pause, considering it.

“Fine, but, first, you’re going to feed me that delicious cock and let me get a taste of you.”

I spin him around and drop to my knees, yanking open his jeans and gripping his cock at the base.

He’s soaked, this poor, needy omega. I lick along the side of his dick, watching his eyes darken.

He grips my hair and guides my head down on him.

The taste of his slick is salty, sweet, and addictive.

I lean over him, rolling his balls in my hands before I press my finger against his ass.

He doesn’t hesitate, pushing back against me.

“Do it!” he says huskily.

I shove a finger in his slick-drenched hole and then two, fucking him slowly. His moans are sounds I want to hear forever. I don’t know where this switch came from, but I’m grateful. He’s the bridge we didn’t know we needed. The perfect fit.

I suck hard, hollowing out my cheeks, gripping the base of his cock and squeezing while I curl my fingers in his ass, hitting that spot that makes him explode.

And he does, shouting out as he jackknifes into my mouth, filling my throat. His hold on my hair is tight as he pulls me against his groin and feeds slick-flavoured cum straight into my stomach.

When he pulls back, I tear my mouth free, gulping air. Tears streak my cheeks, and I feel a little wobbly but so fucking aroused. I stagger up and press him against the wall of Edric’s house, pushing my tongue into his mouth.

We kiss and kiss and kiss. Until he’s thrusting against me, until we’re both mindless messes. I turn him and pull his ass out, gripping his cheeks and squeezing them hard apart, exposing that pretty hole to my hungry eyes.

He growls as I push into him.

We don’t need words.

This is animalistic.

When my balls are pressed against his ass, slowly getting drowned in slick, I stop to breathe.

“You’re the best surprise ever, Bailey Raines. My omega.” Possessive words. Ownership words. He is mine.

“My alpha, don’t give up on me. Make me yours,” Bailey demands and thrusts back against me.

“I’ll never give up!”

I pull out and fuck him, hard and fast. I wrap an arm around his body, fusing us together, and rut into him. When my knot slips into him, I lose my mind .

I fuck him harder than I’ve fucked anyone. I fuck him through my orgasm that goes on and on and on. His ass clenches onto my cock, holding it tight, gripping that knot for dear life. He comes over and over, crying my name until he’s sobbing, but I just lick those tears off his face and keep going.

It’s the first time I’ve knotted someone when I haven’t been in a heat, and the sheer ecstasy of it blows my brain wide open.

I come in him, and then, a minute later, my balls contract, and I come again.

The cycle just keeps repeating, ruled by my knot that has him immobile.

All we can do is cling to each other and ride it out.

Bailey whimpers as he comes again. My hand is coated in cum, the copious amounts of fluid drip down in a small puddle on the ground.

I let go of his cock, bring my hand to my mouth, and lick it clean. Bailey watches me with a just-fucked expression that I want to be on his face always.

I chew on his neck, licking and tasting before I finally bite down on the bond again, needing to mark it again.

He pants, but he leans into me. And finally, my knot goes down, and I carefully pull myself free. I stay still, watching the flood of slick and cum run out of his ass and run my fingers through it.

“Oh, I wish we were home right now.”

Bailey jerks. “Home?”

“Yeah, our home, with our bed, where, if we were, I’d clean this all up, and we could start again,” I mutter huskily and shove three fingers deep into his ass again.

I groan. “God, you feel so good.”

He claws the wall, moaning, until I reluctantly pull my fingers free.

“You need to go help Selene, Bailey,” I remind him reluctantly.

He shudders and stumbles back, pulling his jeans up.

As soon as he’s clothed, I reach for him, stroking his cheek with my thumb.

“Stop stressing so much about who you are, Bailey, it will come. I’m just glad you’re here.”

The wariness in his eyes fades, and he leans in, pressing his forehead to mine.

“You’re mine now, Kingston.”

“Forever and always.”

He kisses me softly before he pulls away. I watch Bailey leave. He glances back and smiles, and, as quickly as it warms me, it sends a streak of guilt that I quickly suppress.

I answer my phone that has been silently ringing in my pocket.

“Yes?”

“You’re out. If you don’t get your snake asses here right now, the three of you are out.”

I wince. “Sure. We’ll be there soon, Andy. ”

He lets out a low, menacing growl.

We walk into the club rooms, a factory that has been renovated to allow a cool and cushy place for the Despair MC members to hang out.

Rave turns towards us, spreading his arms wide and smiling. He’s a massive alpha with an easy countenance and a quick smile.

“Looky looky, the VP, Road Captain, and Sergeant-At-Arms have come crawling back from obscurity. How is the undercover life, boys?”

Mael laughs, and the two clash in a semi aggressive hug that turns into a wrestling match.

Toad slaps me on the back. “Boss ain’t happy.” His green hair is slicked back today.

“I know.”

“Is it true?” Millions asks.

Millions has the biggest size of any alpha here, and he’s only a beta. But he’s got the funniest sense of humour.

“Is what true?” Edric asks.

“Did you guys bond Baby Bailey?”

I wince. “He’s going to kill everyone who calls him that.”

Frankston, a pint-sized alpha with the biggest personality, grabs his chest and staggers back. “Oh, god, you did bond him. Andy is going to kill you. What am I writing on your tombstone?”

“He’s not going to kill us,” Edric says confidently.

“How can you be so sure?” Andy booms and stalks through the crowd of alphas and betas.

“Because you love us,” I say with a wild grin.

Andy scowls hard. “I sent my son out into the world to get away from this life, and you dragged him right back in.”

“Isn’t it Bailey’s choice where he wants to be?” Mael asks quietly.

“He’s a switch. He can’t control when he’s an omega. That means he’s a liability to the club and to himself. I’m not going to see him getting…” Andy chokes off, his face turning red. “No! I forbid it.”

“It’s done. He can have the protection of the club or you can cut him loose, but we can’t undo the bonds.”

“I can kill you fuckers. ”

“Not without hurting him,” Edric says flatly.

“He will get over it.”

“There’s something else,” I say and interrupt. “Have you heard of Selene?”

“Heard of her? Course I fucking heard of her. That beta’s savage defense of her neighbourhood is why we haven’t tried to take it back. I admire the crap out of her.”

I exchange a look with Edric.

“Omega, and she’s ours, too.”

Andy blinks. “And Bailey-”

“-Loves her.”

“So, you all just went and made a pack and left all your plans and everything to the wayside?” Andy stalks closer. “Are you giving up on your plans to run this club? To get revenge against this Tiger cunt? Are you walking away from your brothers?”

“Fuck no,” Mael spits. “We’re going to do it with them. Everyone here knows and loves Bailey. Selene is hardworking and fair. I have no doubt everyone will respect her, and she will be an asset to the club.”

Andy considers it for a long moment and then, to my dismay, shakes his head. “No. This isn’t going to work. You can’t have them both. You need to choose.”

I love this club. I love it so much. It’s in my blood, my sweat, my future, my dreams. These are my brothers. This is a pack that has been family to us.

“Don’t do this, Andy, please,” Mael whispers hoarsely. “We love this club. We’ve bled for it. You guys are family, you’re home.”

Andy grits his teeth and shakes his head. “You can’t have them both. It’s just not going to be possible.”

No one speaks. The heavy weight of loss tears at us already. I can feel it through the bonds, weighing us down.

There is no choice.

There’s only going to ever be one choice.

“We choose Bailey and Selene.”

Andy’s mouth turns down. “And that’s why you aren’t welcome here anymore. You need to be able to put the club first.”

“What about the help you promised us?”

“I promised a brother. I’m not doing favours unless you can pay for it.” Andy pauses in his walking away to look over his shoulder. “You could always ask Bailey for the money, hire an army to save your snake asses. See what he says about all this?”

I press my lips into a thin line. We can’t do that because he doesn’t know. He doesn’t know any of it, and if he knew how bad it all was, I’m not sure he would forgive us.

“Get out of my clubhouse. ”

I watch him go, feeling the raw wounds of betrayal and abandonment, but, in the end, we turn and walk away. We’ve made our choice.
