Everest
Six months later
“ Y ou realize if we go through with this, life as we know it is over,” I remind my husbands for the tenth time…today.
This has been the same conversation we’ve had for the past few weeks…
Ever since we contacted a lawyer about adopting a child or ten.
There may come a day when my body might decide it can handle a pregnancy, and we sure as hell haven’t taken a single precaution to prevent it.
But, according to all three men, even if we adopt ten kids then I give birth to ten more, we’ll make sure all twenty of them feel equally loved and cherished.
Obviously, I have no intention nor desire to get knocked up ten damn times. That’s way too much. I mean, not too many kids, just too many pregnancies.
I guess ten to twenty kids is a little outrageous, too, but at no point have the four of us considered ourselves a cookie cutter family. Nothing about our lives together is considered normal to a lot of society, and we couldn’t give a single flying fudge brownie what anyone else thinks.
That’s another thing – I’m doing my best to break the habit of cussing. And not just me, either. Every single day, I have to remind the guys to watch their language at least a dozen times. I figure it’s better to start now than wait until we have a little one walking around mimicking us.
“How do you figure?” Maddox asks as he looks through the paperwork our lawyer sent over.
“Well, no more fuck…I mean, no more making love anywhere we want, when we want. I don’t want to emotionally scar our kids.”
He makes a dismissive sound and smirks. “The locks work on our room.”
Our room. The room that was finished by the time we got home from our crazy ass honeymoon as I’d hoped.
It’s not only big, but the closet is big enough to hold clothes for four people, and the bed is custom and actually bigger than an Alaskan king. It’s more than enough room for all four of us to move around throughout the night, but they tend to stay pretty close to me, anyway.
“What are we going to do? Kick them out, lock the door, and then what? Tape my mouth shut?” No matter how hard I try, I cannot stay quiet when my men are pleasuring me. They’re far too talented with their fingers, their mouths, their cocks.
“And this is why we should employ at least one nanny,” Maddox says while Brix shakes his head and Kato pinches the bridge of his nose.
But both are trying and failing to hide their smiles.
“You want to hire a sex nanny,” I deadpan.
His eyes are still on the form when he shrugs. “Sure. Why not? Her sole job can be to keep the kids occupied while their daddies get their mommy off.”
“Okay. That just sounded gross.”
No, I can’t hold back my smile, either.
He makes the whole thing sound so easy. And maybe he’s right. I mean, I don’t want someone else raising my kids regardless of their age, but it wouldn’t be so bad to have some backup once we have more than a couple. Especially if Maddox gets his wish of adopting enough to form our own sports team.
After a few minutes, I lower into a chair beside Madd and open the laptop.
I discovered a few websites with children looking for families in our state.
As much as we would all love a baby, there’s no reason we have to stop there.
There are so many kids who need a loving home, and the four of us have more than enough love to go around.
Not to mention more than enough money to spoil the shit out of some kids.
Eventually, we’ll have to either add on to the house or look for something bigger once we hit a certain number of children. Or, I suppose they could always share rooms when they’re young.
I know we’re getting way ahead of ourselves, but once we all four settled on the idea…well, I haven’t bothered mentioning the fact that I’ve already started putting furniture and stuff in a wish list online.
Listen, I just figure it’s better to be proactive and prepared instead of running around and searching for the things our kiddos will need and want when they get here.
“What about a sibling group?” I ask the room as a whole.
“How many?” Maddox asks as he flips the page on the packet.
“Um…” I lean closer and read through the rest of the bio. “Looks like – oh boy. Um…how do you guys feel about four little girls? The oldest is only four.”
The chairs squeak against the tile as all three stand and then circle around behind me.
Eleven months, two, three, and four. Someone was popping kids out one after the other. It doesn’t say how they ended up in the system, but there’s something about their little faces that has me unable to scroll away.
“I’ll make a call,” Kato says, already pulling his phone from his pocket.
“Wait. We haven’t even filled out the paperwork yet. The lawyer said we have to have a home study done and take some classes –”
“Hey, it’s Kato Antoniou. There are four little girls we’re interested in. How fast can you make it happen?”
I turn wide eyes and raised brows to first Brix than Madd. “He can’t be serious. That’s not how it works.”
Then again, the Don rarely has to follow the same rules as everyone else. He’ll more than likely be able to grease some palms and have these four little girls walking through our front door by the end of the day.
“I’m not ready. We’re not ready. I mean…we have to buy so much first. Beds. A crib. Diapers. Toys. Clothes.”
Okay. Honestly? I’m excited now. Saying the list of the things we need simply makes me want this even more.
I never went without when it came to material things, but it wasn’t because my parents wanted to make me happy but rather wanted to make sure the rest of society knew how well off and powerful they were.
I want to spoil these little girls rotten. I want to hold them and snuggle them. I want to lavish them with every toy they could ever dream of; I’ll even insist my husbands get them ponies if that’s what they want.
My heart gives this little patter. It feels so full. Like it’s overflowing with love.
And I plan on pouring all my love on my husbands and eventually, our first four daughters.
