Page 80 of Claiming the Pack’s Omega (Riverwell Omegaverse #2)
Killian
I ’m barely able to pay attention to Stone and the Ward Pack’s instructions. I don’t give a shit about putting on a bullet proof vest or figuring out everyone’s positions.
I know where Reyna is.
And I want to go to her. I need to go to her.
“Any questions?” Archer, the Ward Pack’s pack leader asks us.
No one say anything. Please, no one fucking say anything so we can go in.
Despite the size of our group, which includes a combination of the Ward Pack’s security as well as the Riverwell police force, everyone remains silent.
“Let’s go,” Archer nods.
He doesn’t need to say anything more before all of us move.
Doors are kicked down, shots are fired, guards are incapacitated. It’s all a blur as Stone, Theo, Milo and I all start clearing rooms.
We’re met with room after room, hallway after hallway of guards, scientists or pseudo-medical professionals dressed in white lab coats, and terrified, wide-eyed omegas.
But none of them are our omega.
The implications of what we’re finding here linger at the back of my mind. This kind of operation, even though it’s located on the very outskirts of the Southside, was undeniably funded by someone, or some entity from the Northside. This place was built for the purpose of keeping captive omegas.
We reach a door at the end of the hallway and Stone kicks it in, like all the rest. He raises his gun, scanning the room.
The three of us wait for the all clear, but it doesn’t come.
That’s when I’m hit with a wave of Reyna’s scent. It’s thick with her terror and fear, like a swirling lightning storm. Then there’s the scent of blood.
It’s overpowering.
I shove past a frozen Stone to try and see our omega when I’m tackled. Small arms wrap around both Stone and I and I hear the sound of a gun clattering to the floor beneath us.
I curl my arms around Reyna and Stone and I catch her as her legs give out.
“Are you okay?” Stone yells, alarmed.
“I—I’m okay,” She gasps, her chest heaving with sobs. “The—the blood—it—it isn’t mine.”
Fuck. Her teeth are chattering. She’s going into shock.
Understandable, considering the two dead bodies and the shocking amount of blood in this room.
The entire room is covered in it. So is Reyna. She’s left bloody footprints along the floor, from where she was hiding behind a collapsed gurney.
“You—you came,” she gasps, her chest heaving with sobs.
“Of course we did, Princess,” I growl, trying my best to keep my dominance in check. The last thing I want to do is traumatize her further.
Milo and Theo come up around us and we all huddle around Reyna. I’m pretty sure all of our alpha instincts are screaming at us to soothe our omega.
“You’re ours, ” Theo says, swallowing hard. “We would’ve run to the ends of the Earth to find you.”
“We never stopped looking,” Milo murmurs.
Our attempt at comforting her just makes her sob even harder.
I run my hands down her body, ignoring the blood that’s smearing along her skin. She’s in nothing but a thin, flimsy hospital gown.
“Did they hurt you?” I growl, my voice low.
She swallows hard before she shakes her head.
“N—no, not really. They were going to, but—but you guys got here in time.”
“I mean, from the looks of things, it looks like you were able to hold your own just fine,” Theo says, letting out a sharp laugh.
She flinches at Theo’s words, burying her face into my chest.
“Can—can we get out of this room?” She whispers, her voice strained. “I don’t—I don’t?—”
“Fuck,” I curse under my breath.
How could I forget how much she hates blood?
“Let’s get you out of here.”
She offers a strained smile as she glances up at me.
“Thank you, Killian.”
“Anything for you, Princess.”
I haul her into my arms, carrying her bridal style. I’m careful to hold the back of the hospital gown closed.
“W—wait,” She says, resting a hand against my chest. She glances over at Stone and down to one of the bodies on the floor. “I—I have something important to tell you. To tell all of you.”
“You’ve just been through something terrible, you don’t have to share anything right now,” Stone says. “Let’s get you back home and cleaned up?—”
“No, it’s important. This—this whole operation is much bigger than we thought,” She insists. “Novacure Pharmaceuticals. They’re the ones in charge of this whole operation. I—I killed the son of the CEO in there.”
Stone and Milo instantly pull out their phones, probably to figure out what to do with this new information.
“Holy fuck, you found that out while you were being kept captive?” Theo asks, his eyes wide.
Reyna nods.
“Wow,” he breathes out. “That’s our girl.”
“This place—this place makes the enhancement drugs that’ve been hitting the market from—from?—”
I can’t take it anymore. It seems that Reyna can’t tear her eyes away from the bodies on the floor and the blood splattered everywhere. I don’t blame her, but I can feel in the way her body starts trembling again that she shouldn’t be in here.
She can tell her story out in the hallway.
I take a few steps out of the room, the rest of the pack following my lead with nods of acknowledgement.
“From the other omegas being kept here at the compound?” Theo says, finishing Reyna’s sentence.
“Y—yes,” she nods, gripping my arm as her eyes widen with excitement. “Have you found the girls?”
“We’ve started finding some,” Stone nods. “We have the police force and the Ward Security team going through the entire compound.”
“Can—can you tell them to look for a specific girl? Mira—Mirabelle. She’s really pale, red hair and—and—” Her expression crumples. “I think she was ‘sent away,’ whatever that means.”
“I’ll tell the other men to look for her,” Stone says, his expression as soft and reassuring as he can make it, given the fact we’re surrounded by an illegal drug-making bunker.
“You can tell us the rest of the story when we get you checked out to make sure you’re alright, okay?
You’ve done more than enough, Wildflower. You don’t have to do everything.”
“He’s right, you have us,” I say, tugging her closer to my chest.
“You’re ours and we’re yours, Spitfire,” Theo adds.
“Forever and always,” Milo murmurs, reaching up to brush the bond mark he left on Reyna’s neck what feels like a lifetime ago.
“Forever and always,” She says, smiling up at all four of us.
