“No. And fuck you. Callum was stroking Father’s ego. He only does that when he’s up to something. I want in.”
I liked her.
“You said she already has ideas. She could help,” I said.
“I don’t recognize your accent.”
“And you aren’t going to.”
Taron stomped over and made a big show of sniffing her. He leaned forward and licked her cheek.
“Trust her,” he grunted.
Topaz wiped Taron’s spit off her face and punched him right in the stomach.
“What was that? He doesn’t feel like a shifter.”
I really liked her.
I grabbed Taron’s arm and guided him back over to me so we could snuggle. We really didn’t need Taron killing their sister.
“He’s a shifter you’ve never met before.”
“Beck’s new girlfriend said to let me in on it before her friend licked me.”
“It’s three against three,” I pointed out. “Taron and I think she can help, and so does she.”
Before anyone could argue, there was a knock on their door. Everyone looked around in a panic.
“Were you followed?” Beck hissed.
“No! I was careful, and I made sure Topaz was too.”
Someone knocked a little harder.
“Go get the door. Kishi and Taron need to go hide in the bedroom just in case. Topaz too. We don’t need her going down with us.”
Topaz marched towards the bedroom and grabbed our hands to drag us behind her. I was worried. My heart was pounding in my ears. I thought we were untouchable here. The druid king wasn’t supposed to know about this place.
“Relax. It’s probably one of Beck’sothergirlfriends. It’s best if she doesn’t see you. Depending on what she is, she might get jealous. Follow me,” Topaz said.
We filed into the bedroom, and Topaz left the door opened a crack so we could spy. Beck came in, followed by three massive men. He looked worried.
“Who is that?” I whispered.
“I have no idea. They aren’t from our kingdom, and like you, I have no idea what they are.”
Oh, shit.
