“You’re going to be late. Go. Yissan is here. I have my tablet.” Ezer held it up. “I’m going to nap and let these babies grow some more. I’ll probably just be waking up when you get back.” Ezer licked his lips and batted his gorgeous eyes. “Just in time for you to put another load in my throat.”
Ned brushed the hair back from Ezer’s face. “All right.”
Ezer puckered his lips, and Ned gave him a wet kiss.
The trip into the city wasn’t bad since Ned took the subway. He wanted to get his license so he could drive from now on, but he hadn’t had the time. As he approached the courthouse, he saw his uncle waiting on the front steps, looking at his watch, and seeming impatient. Typical.
“You’re almost late.”
“We have thirty minutes,” Ned protested.
“My attorney wants a word with you before we start, about those contracts you wanted drawn up.”
“Yeah?”
Heath gazed at him. “Are you sure about this?”
“About testifying, yes. Of course.”
“No, about the papers to nullify your contract with Ezer? He might not opt to sign a new one with you, you realize. He could choose to leave.”
Ned’s throat dried up. “I know. If he wants to leave, then he should be allowed to go. Didn’t you tell me that yourself? An omega needs to choose.”
“I think that was Ezer’s idiot brother, Yissan, who said that, but, yes, an omega needs to at least think he’s being allowed to choose.”
“Don’t let Adrien hear you say it like that.”
“He’s got a heat coming on soon. He’ll forget everything bad about me during it, and then when he comes out of the pregnancy haze, he’ll remember, and he’ll be mad at me for a few weeks, and then it’ll pass. He’s predictable as a clock.”
“That doesn’t bore you?”
“Adrien? No,” Heath barked. “He could never. If you ever saw him in heat, you’d know.”
Ned laughed. “Is that all, though?”
“No, of course not. I adore him. His smile is the whole world.” Heath’s eyes took on a dreamy gleam. “The hold these omegas have on our balls is horrible.” He sighed, tugged Ned’s sleeve, and said, “Let’s get all this over with. Come on.”
Ezer woke onthe sofa with a powerful need to get to the bathroom. It felt as if his guts were going to turn inside out, and he didn’t know which end they would spew from.
Moving as fast as he could with his unwieldy body nearly toppling him over with every step, he headed into the bathroom, and discovered that his breakfast intended to come out both ends. He cleaned up as best as he could, got into the shower, and washed off as well. Then, as he dried himself with a towel, the first true pain came.
“Holy fuck!” Ezer’s body tensed as he bent double, groaning and gritting his teeth. The massive contraction took his breath away. He’d been enduring much tamer and smaller ones off and on for over a week, but the last time Dr. Savage had come to check on him, he’d said that was common with all pregnancies, but especially with twins.
“It’s just your body practicing for the big day,” he’d assured Ezer after putting his whole hand inside Ezer’s ass again to check his womb, finding it still closed and high in his body. “But don’t worry. You’ll never even have to know what the real ones feel like. We’re going to take these two before it comes to that.”
And Ezer had believed him.
But this felt different.
This agony felt as if his entire being was forced to condense down to a hard, hot knot. The strong contraction bound him in its grip. He groped along the walls of the bathroom, trying to move out into the main room before falling to his knees and panting until the pain left him.
Ezer crawled at first, using the wall to bring himself to standing. “Yissan!” he cried, but his voice was quieter than he wanted it to be. He took a big breath and yelled, “Yissan!”
There was no answer. He knew his brother was probably by the pool deck, and he also knew there was no way he could heave himself all the way up there.
There was the tablet, though. He’d call for Yissan or an ambulance. He’d call for help.
A yearning for Ned’s solid presence flooded him, leaving him hollow and mildly panicked. He wanted Ned here now.Neededhim. He was scared, well and truly terrified, and the only thing he could imagine would fix it was Ned’s presence. His scent, his voice, his hands on Ezer’s skin.
