“I love you too, Kier,” I whispered, smirking. “So much that it hurts.”
I pressed my lips against his warm ones.
Just to let you know, I’ve had a look at the latest version of the document and there’s a few things I’d like to mention.
The kiss was amazing.
There’s no adjective to describe this kiss.
It might sound cliché, but it’s absolutely true.
It had me hooked! I welcomed the fire in my stomach and the heat that spread through my body. It made me realise how much I missed his kisses.
Our lips moved in time, fitting together perfectly. I could feel his smile against my lips. He kissed me softly and passionately, showing me how much he missed me and how much he loved me. The intensity and passion in our kiss made my heart burst with happiness.
I bit my lip when I felt him s**k on my bottom lip, clearly wanting it. I bit my lip hard. He made a noise as I laughed. I couldn’t stop laughing when he tickled my sides. He laughed as he kissed my jaw and left kisses down my neck. When he got to my mark, I could see him smiling and then he kissed it gently.
He got up from the bed and grabbed my head. He moved his lips back to mine and put his tongue in my mouth. I groaned when it touched my own.
I gently pulled at his soft black hair. His scent was heavenly. Every time he touched me it was like I was on fire. If I could kiss Kieran forever, I would.
He rested his forehead against mine when we both ran out of breath. He left a trail of heat and goose bumps behind as he ran his hands down my arms and interlocked our fingers. He took my hand and kissed it.
“Oops, I missed having a bit of a snog with you,” Kieran moaned.
“Is that all you missed?” I gave him a fake scowl.
“Well, I missed the s*x too,” Kieran teased. He laughed when I slapped his chest. “I’m only joking, Talis. I missed everything about you.”
“You’re too cheesy, lover boy,” I said, smiling and patting his cheek lightly.
“Just for you,” he said, winked and groaned again. “I’d like to show you off, but that psycho bitch is in the way.”
“What are we going to do about her?” I let out a sigh, feeling my happiness slipping away as I faced the reality of the situation.
“Hey,” Kieran said, holding me closer when he felt me move away. He tilted my chin up with one finger so I could look into his determined blue eyes. “I’ll take care of her. I want you. Only you.”
“Mine,” I whispered, expressing the thoughts of my wolf.
Kieran laughed. “Don’t worry, babe. I’m all yours.”
“I like the sound of that.”
I closed my eyes as he laughed and gave me a soft kiss on the forehead.
Just to let you know, I’ve got a few more things to add.
Once again, both packs were crammed into the conference room. There were quiet chats and friendly waves as more people came in. The kids were playing games, the teens were chatting away, the women were gossiping and the men were talking about “men” stuff.
Brielle was standing close to Beck. She was looking down at the ground, where a few people had a quick look at her. I’m sure they’ve heard the news. Lila and Maren were handing out cookies to everyone. Damien, Roman, and Avery were standing a bit awkwardly in the background, clearly uncomfortable being on Eclipse Pack land. Cruz was having a long chat with his younger brothers and sisters. Logan was standing next to me, engrossed in a game of Candy Crush on his iPhone. Luca and Kieran were having a look through some papers in the corner.
Kieran saw me staring at him and a little smile appeared on his face. I had to fight the urge to pinch him when he linked up with me.
‘Like what you see?’ he asked, a hint of arrogance in his voice.
‘Yeah, well,’ I teased, ‘let’s just have a laugh about it.’ ‘I just want to rip your clothes to pieces and lick my tongue across those finely defined Brielle.’ I couldn’t help laughing when he went a bit red and shifted his weight to the other foot. He scratched the back of his neck. ‘It’s a shame, but that’ll only happen in your dreams, Kier.’
Kieran and I had been secretly seeing each other for a week, behind everyone’s back. Occasionally, our friends would get a bit suspicious, but we’d just wave it off. They didn’t need to know that we made out in his room late at night or that we’d cuddle and watch a movie.
Every time I saw Pamela, I had to fight the urge to shred her face to pieces. Her sweet smile was sickening. When she put her arms or her lips on Kieran, I growled to myself.
Kieran reminded me it was all an act and it was going to end soon. He barely spoke to Pamela and was always apologising if she even held his hand.
As the saying goes, you know what they say. Dreams do come true,’ he laughed.
I rolled my eyes. If your dreams are all just illusions, they’re never going to come true. That’s a shame.’
‘Yes, it did. I got you.’ I felt the blood rush up to my cheeks. I smiled a little.
‘Very smooth, lover boy.’
‘Stop talking to me,’ he joked. ‘I’m trying to focus on Alpha duties.’
I had a very naughty thought, and as you know, I loved messing with Kieran. I knew exactly what would have an impact on him and what he was sensitive to. I gave a little smirk.
I did my best to sound seductive, and I got a link out to him.
‘Yes, Alpha Kieran.’
I saw him stiffen in my peripheral vision. He was looking at me. I could feel him looking at me, right through me. When I clicked on the link, I heard him growl lowly.
‘You’re evil. You’re such a tease, Talis,’ Kieran groaned.
‘What? Everyone calls you that. What makes me any different?’ I asked innocently.
‘Coming from you, that sounds crazy sexy.’
‘Whatever. Just remember that even though you’re an alpha, I’m still your master.”
“Well, I do like my women on top,” Kieran joked.
‘You are so nasty! Gross! You’ve got a bit of a pervert in you, you know.
“You smell like him again, you know?” Logan jumped in as I was on the phone to Kieran. My heart was beating faster when he said this. But I was determined, and I was already telling a lie.
“Like who?”
“Don’t play stupid with me, Talia,” he said, rolling his eyes and sighing. “I knew you two wouldn’t be able to resist each other any longer.”
“I don’t know what you mean,” I replied, not even batting an eyelid at my chipped nail polish.
“OK. Don’t tell me. I really don’t understand why you don’t trust me anymore,” Logan said, feigning hurt. I could tell. He was playing the guilt card, but I knew he actually felt that way to some extent. I swallowed, playing with the tips of my brown hair. “Just let me know when you’re ready to spill the beans, and I’ll be there. You don’t have to lie to me. I’d probably end up hating him, but I’d be right behind you.
“Okay,” I said, blushing a bit. I crossed my arms over my chest, ignoring his intense stare. “We’ve been meeting up on the down low.”
“He’s cheating on Pamela?” Logan asked. His eyebrows scrunched up in confusion. “You’re helping him cheat on Pamela?”
“It’s a long story,” I sighed, looking around me. “I’ll fill you in after the meeting. I don’t want anybody else to hear.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
A few minutes later, the meeting finally began.
‘Good evening,’ Luca greeted the crowd, silencing the hushed whispers. Even the children stopped playing and listened to the Alpha of the Moonfire Pack. The teenage girls gave him their undivided attention — they were obviously attracted to my best friend. ‘Thank you all for attending our meeting today. We apologise for such short notice, but we have a very important announcement.”
