Story: Bullied By My Alpha Mate
His showerhead was pretty big and removable. I had an idea, so I laughed a little. I got into the tub, grabbed the showerhead and was all set for my big moment.
“I’m coming in,” Kieran yelled. I heard the key jingling and the doorknob turning.
When the door opened, I let out an Indian cry before turning on the water and spraying him. His face was priceless. His eyes opened really wide and he opened his mouth a lot. He put his arms in front of him.
“I’m the immature one? You’re making my whole bathroom wet!” He cried.
I turned the water off while I was laughing. He stood there with his arms crossed over his chest. He was dripping wet, his thin t-shirt clinging to his muscles. His black hair was flat against his head and tiny drops of water were dripping off his chin. I would have been impressed, but he was ready to attack.
After a bit of a stare-down, Kieran said, “You’re gonna regret that.” I was gobsmacked when he used his super-human speed to climb into the huge bathtub with me. Before I could get it, he took it and switched it on. I let out a yelp as the cold water hit my skin.
Kieran stopped laughing when I grabbed his shampoo, squirted it at him and said, “Here, try this.” He let go of the showerhead just in time to avoid the shampoo dripping into his eyes.
“That shampoo doesn’t come cheap!” Kieran moaned.
I stuck my tongue out at him, wringing my green jumper. “You asked for it,” I yelled, sounding a bit childish.
Kieran sprayed me with the showerhead again, so I shot him a look that could kill. “You’re not playing fair,” he moaned. I couldn’t help laughing when he almost slipped.
Before I could get his shampoo bottle again, he pinned me against the wall and grabbed the bottle. He squirted it on my skin. It was getting sticky and my skin was drying out.
He started tickling me again and I hiccupped. “Okay, stop,” I gasped. “I’m out. Truce?”
Kieran’s hands stopped on my hips, but he didn’t move to take them off. His smirk turned into the best smile I’ve ever seen, and his blue eyes met mine. I did my best to keep a straight face when I realised our bodies were flush against each other.
“You might have wasted some decent shampoo, but let’s just call it a day,” Kieran joked. “You smell like me.”
“I stink,” I joked, wrinkling my nose.
Kieran made a noise, but he didn’t say anything. He just picked up a hand and gently pushed a wet strand of hair behind my ear. I almost closed my eyes from pleasure, but I didn’t want to miss the way his blue irises were piercing into mine.
For a moment, I forgot all my problems and felt like a normal person. Kieran was the only person who could make me feel like a normal human. He was my mate, but my wolf would keep his distance when we were with Kieran. She’d be too busy getting to know Kieran’s wolf. I just felt so grateful to be human for even a few minutes.
I thought about Pamela. No girl deserves to be cheated on, and I wasn’t going to wreck Kieran and Pamela’s relationship.
I put my hand on his face and stroked it. I didn’t miss how his head tilted closer to my hand, how he choked, and how he looked at me with pain, passion, longing, and a whole host of other emotions flashing in his blue eyes. I put my hand flat on his cheek and smiled.
“I think I should go,” I said, fighting back the tears.
When I got out of the tub, I left his bedroom, feeling really sad.
Just to let you know, I’ve got a few more things to add.
I was so bored.
Cruz, Maren and I groaned at the same time, which made Maren giggle.
Logan was out with Elias having a good time. I knew they went paintballing, go carting, and skiing. When I asked if I could go, Elias looked guilty. He was trying to find reasons why I couldn’t come with him. Logan told me straight up that it was a “man” day and they didn’t want any women to interrupt.
It seems like they thought women were always a bit of a nuisance to men who were just looking for a good time. I just stuck my tongue out at them and said they were jerks. Tasha did the same, glaring at Elias.
Beckett, Brielle, Lila and Luca went on a double date run. They asked if we wanted to go, but we politely declined. We didn’t want to feel left out.
It also made us envious of their perfect relationship.
After all, my friend had a human girlfriend. Maren’s friend was in a mental hospital. Cruz hasn’t found his mate yet. We were pretty lucky in the romance department.
And I’m sure you’ll have noticed the sarcasm.
Kieran was doing some Alpha duties upstairs, so that left the three of us moaning about how bored we were. We really had no life.
“How’s Knox?” Cruz asked about a topic to chat about after having a think.
“Okay,” Maren replied, swishing her platinum blonde hair out of her face. Her sapphire eyes showed concern for her mate. “He’s doing so much better.”
“That’s great,” Cruz said sincerely. “I haven’t been for ages. I’ll go soon.”
“Talia visited,” Maren said, clearly excited. “She went with Kieran!”
“You went with Kieran?” Cruz asked, a little cheekily. “How did you get him to go? And what about that war of the exes?”
Maren gave him a look that said she’d punch him if he didn’t back off. I just waved it off and sighed.
“I practically dragged him there. We’re doing well. We called a truce,” I said. “I think he’s going to visit Knox again soon.”
“Cheers, Talia,” Maren beamed. “Knox has been beating himself up over what he did to you and Kieran. I don’t think he’ll ever be able to forgive himself. When you visited, it was a huge weight off his shoulders.”
“It was for the best,” I said, messing about with Cruz’s rusty hair. I’m sorry, but I can’t help asking. How are things between the two of you?
“We haven’t mated yet,” Maren said. “He’s in a mental hospital. It’s a bit strange to get it on in.
“Okay, we get it,” Cruz said, covering his ears with his hands. “Nasty. I’ve got plenty on my plate with Beck and Brielle already.”
“Anyway,” Maren said, glaring at Cruz. “We’re just dating. That’s all.”
“I’m lucky I haven’t found my mate,” Cruz sighed.
“What? You don’t want to find true love?” I asked. Cruz always seemed like the type who was constantly on the lookout for true love. I guess I thought wrong.
“It’s a real headache,” Cruz moaned, looking at me like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Femme wolves are such bitches.”
Maren slapped his head. “You better watch it, Cavanaugh,” Maren said, defending the women.
“See,” Cruz yelled, pointing at Maren’s angry face. “Bitch.”
“You’re really mean,” I told him. Maybe that’s because you’re already nineteen and your heart is getting colder every day without a mate.
“That’s not true,” Cruz replied angrily. He was telling a lie. He was desperate for a partner. He just didn’t want to let us know because he was ashamed of how he was feeling.
“So, you’re saying that if you found a mate, you’d reject her?” Maren asked.
“No,” Cruz answered quickly. “I would never let her go through that.”
“So, you’ve thought about finding your other half. You’d welcome her with open arms, I teased, ruffling his hair.
He rolled his chocolate eyes. “I’m just a gentleman, that’s all.”
“I didn’t know gentlemen called females bitches,” Maren replied sarcastically.
“I’m one of a kind, sweetheart. Hey Talia, what’s the deal with you and Kieran?
“Nothing. We’re friends,” I said, shrugging.
“Just friends? How’s it going for you?” Maren asked, looking curious.
“I’m coming in,” Kieran yelled. I heard the key jingling and the doorknob turning.
