How is the summer almost over? Better yet, how is it already the end of the competition?

It feels like it was just yesterday that I jumped on a plane and came to LA.

Now, I’m standing here, holding hands with three guys who have become some of the best friends I could ever ask for in such a short amount of time, holding my breath as my heart threatens to beat out of my chest while we wait for the results.

Top three. I made it to the top three. So did the guys, along with Tay money and fame. It’s a big responsibility. Are you sure that's something you can handle?”

“I think with the help of the people I have in my life, I’ll be okay.” I nod. “Plus, it helps having an uncle who knows all the ins and outs of this industry." I laugh awkwardly.

Her brows furrow as she tilts her head to the side. “You do? Who?”

Shit. “Ahh...” I laugh again, rubbing the back of my head.

Lying isn’t the best way to start a new business venture.

It was one thing to keep it to myself while being in the competition, because who was I hurting if I didn’t win?

No one needed to know. But now that I have—something I still don’t think I've fully processed yet—I think it’s better to let her know, just in case it could cause future issues.

I’d rather them know now than get blindsided later. “Chase Thornton.”

She snorts out a laugh. “No, really. Who?”

“Chase Thornton,” I repeat again. “He’s my uncle. My mom’s brother.”

She blinks at me. “As in the owner of this entire label?” she asks, not sounding convinced.

“Yes.” I nod slowly.
