Page 21 of Broken Deeds MC: Second Generation #12

– LYLA –

“We need more brothers,” Archer grumbles. “Getting some of the other brothers here will take time and every damn second counts.”

A thought hits me and without thinking I blurt, “We could ask Livi and her old man, the Wisely Dicey clubhouse is closer than Broken Deeds.”

Archer’s head whips in my direction. “You’re right. It’ll save time and those fuckers are also under government contract.” He shoves his hand into his pocket and palms his phone while grumbling, “Why didn’t I think about that?”

Easy answer; because he’s handling a million things at once. Besides, Livi, who happens to be Archer’s cousin, just messaged the group app I’m in which reminded me of Wisely Dicey. Though, it’s probably the fact that Livi, along with Wisely Dicey MC, is a very new connection.

Recently Archer saw a photograph of Livi because she was a special agent going undercover to bring down Wisely Dicey.

Livi looked like Archer’s mother and turned out to be the daughter of Lynn’s sister, Eve.

No one knew about Eve’s existence because she was presumed dead due to an explosion at the maternity ward right after she was born.

Long story short, after DNA tests they reached out and connected with their newfound family member. Shit took a turn during Livi’s undercover operation, and she reached out to Broken Deeds. Wiseley Dicey signed a deal with the government Archer offered them and they now work special criminal cases.

Thorsten is the president of Wisely Dicey, and also Livi’s old man, connecting these two MCs through blood.

Funny enough, Falcon, Thorsten’s brother, recently claimed Kenz, the daughter of Zack and Blue.

Kenz’s twin brothers are co-presidents of Areion Fury MC.

Hence the funny remark since Wisely Dicey, like Broken Deeds, is now entwined with both.

“They’re on their way,” Archer rumbles.

“Maybe we need to do another sweep of the rooms,” I suggest. “If she’s able to slip in and out of rooms we’ll never catch her going door to door.”

“Right,” Pax grunts. “If we have more manpower, we could keep one or two people inside the room.”

“What if she slipped out and is long gone by now?” I wonder out loud.

“Impossible,” Ganza and Bee both state.

I frown and Bee turns her laptop in my direction.

“We have a facial recognition system running. It’ll flag any appearance she’ll make on any cameras within a few miles of the hotel.

There’s no record of her on the street, walking or in a car, for the past few hours.

If she does slip out now? We’ll get an alert. ”

“You guys and your gadgets,” I murmur. “So, it’s safe to say she’s still here? What if she also has the camera feed and sound on her phone? She could be listening in on our plan.”

Pax nods. “She heard what Lyla and I discussed before we walked into the lobby yesterday. I don’t know about her also having the feed on her phone, but the parking lot definitely isn’t safe to talk shit over either.”

“Either way she’s out of options,” Archer grits. “She’s going down, even if I have to burn this fucking place to the ground.”

“Okay then, let’s get things started,” Lochlan grunts.

The rumble of bikes draws everyone’s attention to the group of twelve bikers entering the parking lot. Thorsten and Falcon are the first ones to park their bikes, others follow. Livi hops off and stalks to Archer.

“What do you need?” Livi asks.

“Pretty sure that’s my line, darlin’,” Thorsten states when he steps shoulder to shoulder with his old lady.

I grin when Livi rolls her eyes. When she was still setting up her undercover persona, I was the one who gave her a few piercings. Okay, I admit it was Lynn’s idea to have a way to get her blood for a DNA test. Though, the snake bite piercings really suit her personality perfectly.

“We’re getting ready to turn this place inside out.

” Archer jabs a thumb over his shoulder.

“We’ve already searched every inch of this hotel, but we found out the building has a crawlspace to connect with every damn room.

It’s possible the owner is moving from one space to the other to keep hidden. ”

Pax holds out a picture of Della. “This is the woman we’re searching for. Della Hallett, the owner of this hotel, and our only suspect in the case we’re working on, which makes her a female cannibal serial killer.”

The Wisely Dicey brothers each lean in to take a good look at the picture Pax is showing them. Archer signals for Wyatt, the VP of Broken Deeds, to come closer. He instructs Wyatt, Thorsten, and Macsen, the VP of Wisely Dicey, to follow him.

I watch both presidents, and vice presidents, huddled together and talking when Pax leans in to say, “They’re making a plan to divide forces.”

Bee rushes over to Archer and shows him something.

“Makes sense,” I murmur and turn to face him. “Are you going to tell me to wait in the SUV? Or stick with Bee and Livi?”

Pax snorts. “As if you’d listen. Besides, I’m fairly sure we’ll need every single one of us to join in and help. You just make sure to palm your gun and don’t hesitate when you see her. Shoot first, think later. Don’t give her a chance for you or our kid to get hurt, understood?”

“Become trigger-happy for my own protection. Gotcha,” I tell him, liking the fact he’s not putting me on the sideline, even if I can see the worry etched on his face.

The corner of his mouth twitches. He wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close. His mouth covers mine, tongue sliding between my lips and everything around me disappears. This man has the ability to completely consume me with his attention.

Sensual lips moving against mine, his tongue mimicking what his dick does to my pussy. I moan and grind myself against him, wanting to soothe the tingles low in my belly.

“Okay, listen up,” Archer rumbles, piercing through our lust-filled haze.

We both groan and pull apart. Archer starts to point and splits everyone up into teams of three.

Thorsten, Wyatt, and Macsen are going from one person to the other to whisper the plan to avoid Della from listening in.

We’re not sure if she has access to the cameras or sound through an app on her phone. Better safe than sorry, right?

Taking my gun in hand, I stick beside Pax. Macsen is teamed up with us. We’re walking down the hall and head for the part of the hotel that’s restricted to the guests. It’s also where Samuel’s room is located since the rooms here are reserved for the staff.

Well, I guess most of the rooms are empty because Samuel’s room is a crime scene, the other two employees aren’t living here, and Della’s father died a few years ago. Which leaves us to check out her room.

Behind us we hear the others going door to door.

Each team has three people. One opens the door, three go in, one goes out while the other two stay.

With the shuffling of feet and the doors we’re hoping to drive Della out of her hiding space.

Hopefully she switches rooms and enters one where two bikers will hold her at gunpoint.

Pax meets my gaze. He’s standing behind Macsen who will enter the room first after I’ve opened the door. We each have our role and it’s me who has to follow behind them and then leave them inside.

My heart is racing, adrenaline is pumping through my veins.

I’ve done lots of stuff for Areion Fury, even if I never was a part of the club.

My family each have their spot, but I didn’t when I grew up.

Hell, Heath almost chewed my head off a few months ago because I talked to a woman who was related to someone who wanted to go to war with Areion Fury.

I was only having an innocent conversation to gather some information for fuck’s sake. It’s not that I hate my family, or the brotherhood I grew up in. I now understand the full difference of MCs, and the fact that I’m now an old lady.

Not only am I part of Broken Deeds in a different setting as I was growing up as a kid of one of the members of Areion Fury.

My old man gives me privileges and sees me as his equal.

The way we worked on solving the serial killer case, and right now checking the rooms shows everything about the value he sees in me.

I’m very well aware of the danger, don’t get me wrong, but there’s a huge damn difference in my mind.

While I was pissed at Heath for chewing my head off, now?

I have to agree with him because I wouldn’t want my daughter sticking her nose into club business.

I didn’t have the okay from Heath and Hayden, and didn’t have backup.

Stupid. I was lucky nothing happened.

Time for the here and now...hoping we’ll all be lucky today as well. Swallowing hard, I nod in the direction of Pax and Macsen. They’re both ready to slip inside the room. I make as much noise as normal.

Gun pointing forward I yell, “Della Hallett, show yourself. Slowly or I will shoot you.”

Crickets.

Silence is all the room is filled with. I walk over to a little desk in the corner and start to slam the drawers. From the corner of my eye, I notice Pax and Macsen enter the room without noise.

Leaving two people in the room might be stupid, knowing she has cameras everywhere. Though, Bee and Ganza managed to tap into the feed of the hotel security. There are no other cameras because they saw the room I booked on the feed as well. The parking lot has video and sound as well.

Only the first row of hotel rooms all have video and sound. Creepy. I’ll never take privacy in a hotel room for granted again. Damn. My mother was right to live in a house that’s basically a safe room.

I didn’t and the first home I lived in by myself was breached by a fucked-up neighbor. People are weird and twisted. My eye catches a transparent tube when I’m about to slam the drawer shut. Taking it out, I pop the cap and glance inside.

“Fuck.” I let one of the buttons slide out onto my palm while I mutter mostly to myself, “Archer should see this.”
