“I’m thinking about my — our nest. I want to build a nest, one that is perfect for us and the pup we bring into it. The floor was perfect for space, but it’s going to be a pain trying to get down to the floor and back up again with a belly.”
I watched as a glint of darkness crossed Luke’s eyes, and I couldn’t help but smirk at the bulge now forming under the towel. He was picturing me with a pregnant belly. Perv.
“So move it to the bed.”
“That’s the issue. I don’t know if the bed is big enough, and things will fall out as we move around.”
Luke made a noise that let me know he understood as he wrapped his arms around me, pulling me against him. I could feel his hard-on against my ass, and I fought not to wiggle my hips against it.
“We could get a bigger bed. They make these bumper things you can install along the edge of the bed for parents who co-sleep with their pups. It prevents the pup from falling out, but we could install them early to keep your nest intact on the bed.”
Holy shit, why hadn’t I thought of those before! “Luke! You’re a genius! That’s perfect. I want to get some stuff for the pup, if that’s okay after you’re 100%, of course.”
“Of course it’s okay,” He nuzzled my neck, kissing it lightly. “We’re going to have a pup.”
“We are. And I need to tell my parents. I can’t decide if they will freak out or be happy for us. They didn’t even know I was seeing someone.”
Luke sighed heavily before pulling off me, taking his fresh scent and body heat with him.
I turned to watch him get dressed, looking a little too long at his ass as he pulled on sweats.
His words returned to me then on how he wanted me to top him, and suddenly I became nervous.
I’ve never topped anyone. What if I hurt him?
I obviously know what it’s like from the bottom; after all, male Omegas are always the bottom, or so society tells us.
I produce a lubricant, but Luke does not.
My body was designed to take him, his body will fight me.
But maybe with my experience, I can help him, and he can help me.
“I don’t know what you’re thinking about, but I can scent your slick from here and don’t have the energy to respond to it. Have mercy, little fawn.”
I realized I had spaced out, and Luke was dressed in sweatpants, watching me with a smirk. I couldn’t help but blush and shake my head, moving toward him and wrapping my arms around him.
“I’ll tell you later.”
“Probably for the best. Like you, I need to tell my parents, and I need all the energy I have left for that conversation.”
As we had expected, the conversation didn’t go well.
It resulted in a yelling match over the phone, with Luke taking offense at his father's suggestion that he should have the pup terminated and ‘do the right thing’ by breaking up with me and marrying someone more respectable. He lied and told them that we were already bonded and he would never give me or our pup up. The conversation ended with him hanging up on his parents, his scent laced with burnt spices. This did not help my nerves as I waited for my mom to answer the video call. I didn’t have to wait long before her smiling face filled my screen.
I honestly really loved my parents. My parents did everything they could for me, often researching and engaging in uncomfortable conversations with strangers to meet the needs of raising an Omega child.
It wasn’t easy; mistakes were made, but we learned from them, and it allowed us to grow as a family.
It didn’t mean I wasn’t nervous to tell them our news.
Luke asked if I wanted him to be on the call with them, but I told him that as much as I appreciated it, I wanted to do this alone.
So I lay in our nest, looking at my mother.
I honestly looked more like my mother than my father, and my mind briefly wondered who our pup was going to take after the most. I couldn’t help but grin as my mother greeted me.
“Hello, stranger! I see you finally remembered you have parents.”
“I’m sorry, I meant to call earlier, but a lot is going on.” I chuckled at her. “Dad there?”
“Mmm, I think so. Unless I lost him to the garden again. You know, we were supposed to see more of each other after he retired, but I swear we see less of each other now. It’s one hobby after another.”
As my mom stood up to get my father, the rapid movement of the camera created a wave of motion sickness, and I suppressed a groan, closing my eyes until I heard my mother's voice again.
“What’s wrong?”
I opened my eyes to find my father seated by my mother on our living room couch, and a feeling of nostalgia and longing replaced the nausea. I missed them both in ways I couldn’t put into words, and now I was about to tell them one of the biggest news of my life.
“I’m pregnant.” Okay, so not the best way I could’ve said it.
My brain told me to rip the band-aid off instead of easing them into it, but that wasn’t the best course of action.
Neither was the word vomit that just erupted after what I said.
“I-I know it’s not the future you envisioned for me.
A-and I know I’m young and this is sudden, but I met this Alpha, and we’ve been dating for a bit.
It-it was an accident, and neither of us planned this, but it’s happened and —”
“Aidyn.” My father's stern voice cut me off, and suddenly, I was five again, unable to meet his gaze through the screen. "Does the Alpha treat you well?”
I tilted my head slightly and smiled. “Yeah, he does.”
“Are you happy?”
“Yeah, Dad, I am. A lot is going on in my life with classes, school, and life in general, but Luke has been patient and is not trying to sway me in any direction. I was scared when I found out, and he’s been by my side even when I tried to push him away.
I’m not worried about what’s going to come next. ”
“Ha!” my mom barked out. “Just wait until the baby is here. You’ll never stop worrying after that, even when your baby is about to start a family of his own.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at that.
“I won’t lie and say that I’m not surprised, shocked even.” Dad started, his voice lighter. “But ultimately, we want you happy, and if he takes care of you, that’s all we could want. Our vision for your future was that you were happy, nothing more than that.”
“I am. I really love him. Would it be okay if we could visit at Christmas?”
“We’ll come to you; you just worry about finishing your semester and growing my grandbaby!” Mom said with a grin and Dad nodded beside her.
The vast difference between my parents and Luke’s hit me then.
My parents were more concerned about my happiness and well-being than the pregnancy itself.
I knew my parents loved me— they never hid that fact—but to love me this deeply and have such unwavering support was something I didn’t expect.
I thought for sure they were going to at least be disappointed.
I couldn’t stop the tears filling my eyes as I gave them a watery smile.
“Thanks, guys, I’ll let Luke know. The condo might be too small for you to stay with us, but we’ll figure it out.”
“I’m sure there is a hotel around the corner. Don’t worry about us.”
The call ended after we exchanged our love and plans to discuss more soon.
I settled in the silence of the aftermath of the phone call, shooting Luke a text to let him know I was done with my call.
It didn’t take him long before he entered the bedroom, stepping into the nest and pulling me against him.
I nuzzled against his side, nose buried into his neck as I inhaled his scent.
The exchange and rush of emotions exhausted me, but I was happy.
At least one set of grandparents was delighted for us.
“They want to meet you.” I breathed against him, his body shuddering as my words puffed out against his neck. “They didn’t outright say they were excited, but they’re happy for us. They just wanted to make sure you treat me well, and that you’ll take care of us.”
“Until my dying breath,” Luke said, tilting his head to rest on mine. “Think they’ll adopt me?”
I chuckled, pulling him tightly against me as my eyes closed slowly. “Probably. They’ll love you so much, they’ll forget all about me.”
“No one can forget about you,”
I let out a sound in response before drifting into sleep.
