I roll over, rub my eyes, and see that Annie’s eyes are directly on me. She’s sitting up in bed beside me, gaping at me.

“Uh, everything all right?” I groggily say. I just woke up, and my voice is still scratchy.

“Uh, no.” Her voice is too loud for the middle of the night.

I sit up straight and turn on the bedside lamp. I’m awake now.

“What’s wrong?”

“What’s wrong? Oh, nothing. You just scared the crap out of me!” Her voice is a pitch higher than it usually is.

“Me? I was sleeping.”

“Uh, no. You were sleeping, but then you just stopped breathing, and you were gasping for air. I was about to wake you up, but then you caught your breath and started snoring thirty seconds later.”

“Oh,” I respond .

“Oh? You barely had enough air, and all you say is, ‘Oh?’” She makes question marks in the air with the last word in her sentence and flails her arms afterward.

“Oh, well, maybe I should go to the doctor?” I reframe my words to the words I think she wants me to say. I have no idea what to say here.

“Yes, get that checked out, please.”

“Okay.”

Now that my eyes have fully adjusted to the light and I’m entirely awake, I look at Annie. Her brown hair is cutely tousled, and she is wearing one of my shirts that I previously let her borrow but I know I will never get back.

She has a worry line across her forehead, and her arms are crossed over her chest.

“Are you shaking?”

“A little. You had me very worried,” Annie admits.

“Hey, come here.” I take her and wrap her in a big hug. “I didn’t mean to scare you. I’ll find out what’s going on, okay?” I try to reassure her. Her body relaxes in my arms, and her shaking subsides.

“Did you know you do that?” she questions.

“No,” I admit. “I’m sleeping. I do toss and turn sometimes, but that’s normal.”

“Yeah, but gasping for air…” Her words trail off, and she buries her head into my chest. I automatically rub her back. “Have you done that before…”

“I’m not sure. No one has said anything to me. I haven’t shared a bed with anyone in a while, and when I’ve shared a room with a teammate, it’s usually Cal, and he’s usually out cold fast.”

That seems to answer Annie’s questions, at least for now .

I’m touched that Annie is worried about me. I’m sure it’s not a big deal, but I will make a mental note to mention it to one of the team doctors to see what they think.

We stay cuddled up together for a little longer, but feeling her soft body against me makes my body get some other ideas. My dick is pressing against her back, and she turns over and grins in response.

She lifts her body on top of mine and sits on my stomach. She peels off her extra-large T-shirt and throws it on the floor. She wasn’t wearing anything underneath, so her tits are bouncing in my face.

I’m pleased to be awake in the middle of the night now. I have the best view.

She strips me of my shirt and boxers and throws them to the ground to join her lone T-shirt. Our mouths and hands are all over each other.

Her hair is wild as she asks, “Do we need a condom?”

“Up to you, but I get tested regularly for work.”

“Me too.” Her eyes have a shy sparkle to them.

“Good. I don’t want to wait.”

Thankfully, she agrees and lines her body up with mine. She feels so good with nothing between us.

My hands find her breasts as she’s riding me. Her rhythm is fast, desperate, but I also feel the same. I can’t get enough of her. She changes pace, moving to a slower motion. Her chest crashes against mine as we both reach our high.

We stay still for a minute, not wanting to ruin the moment between us.

I give her one last kiss before she climbs off me. I’m sad about the loss of heat, but she repositions herself and snuggles close.
