Page 26 of Breeze and Melodie

“She seems to think your girl had something to do with Sean’s disappearance.”

“I know. This isn’t the first time we’ve crossed paths.”

“Continue.”

“The first time was a little over a month ago. She was waiting in the parking lot of Black Reign to ask Mel if she’d seen that nigga. Apparently, he’d been seeing both of them and told Arielle that Mel was upset when he broke up with her, or some shit like that.”

“She wasn’t happy with Mel’s responses?”

“I guess not. Mel left, and she questioned me about it. She warned me to be careful around Mel or I’d be the next to come up missing.”

“What happened the next time?”

“Not sure if you could tell, but Mel’s pregnant.”

“Congratulations.”

I shared what happened at the doctor’s office, and he was just as shocked by the exchange as we were at the time.

“Mel didn’t remember her at first, but she was fired up when she saw Mel.”

“This is starting to make sense now.”

“I wasn’t sure what side of the fence your buddy was on, so I didn’t want to mention it.”

“You did the right thing. I’m the lead on this and will make sure no connection is made. I’ll keep you posted on everything.”

“Cool.”

We parted ways, and I felt slightly better about the situation. Women were typically off-limits, and I’d never considered taking a woman’s life. Yet, I currently had two women who were in jeopardy of losing their lives at my hands if they continued to threaten my and Mel’s safety.

As I entered the apartment, Mel walked out of the bedroom, wrapped in a towel. I smiled because she looked so damn beautiful with her baby bump peeking from behind the towel.

“Why didn’t you wait for me to shower?”

“Because I didn’t know how long you would be. What did you talk to Officer Downing about?”

“Men’s business. Nothing for you to worry about.”

“It’s me Arielle is after. Don’t you think I should know everything there is to know?”

“I gotchu covered, Mel. I don’t want you worrying about bullshit, especially while carrying my seeds.”

“The more I know, the more prepared I can be. Why did you lie and say we didn’t know Arielle?”

“We don’t know her; we know of her. There’s a difference, baby. When there’s something you need to know, I’ll tell you.”

“I’m a big girl, Breeze. You don’t have to protect me from everything.” She folded her arms across her chest and pouted.

“That’s a damn lie. I’m your man, and it’s my job to protect you from any and everything that could harm you mentally, physically, spiritually, or emotionally. Don’t play with me.”

“I know, but you act like?—”

“I don’t act like shit. C’mere.”

“I’m not?—”

“We’re done talking about that shit. I said, c’mere.”

She adjusted her towel and slowly approached me. I wrapped her in my arms and kissed her lips.

“I love you too much and waited too long to make you mine, to lose you. If something happened to you, I’d never forgive myself.

I hope what I say next answers all the questions you have, and I don’t want to talk about this again.

I will do whatever it takes to protect you, and you can take that however you want. Are we good?”

She nodded. “Yeah, we’re good.”

“Go wait for me in bed. I got plans for you and that pussy tonight.”

She smiled, and when she turned to walk away, I grabbed the corner of her towel.

“Breeze! Give me back my towel.”

“Nah. I wanna watch that ass wiggle while you walk away.”

She smacked her lips, but when she walked toward the bathroom, she put an extra bounce in her step. Her ass swayed from left to right and it was a beautiful sight to see. With each step she took, my dick hardened.

I followed her into the bedroom and removed my clothing. When I pushed my pants and underwear down, my dick stood erect and ready for action. Unfortunately, he’d have to wait. I showered in record time and my dick still stood at attention when I returned to the bedroom.

“What was all that shit you were talking at dinner?”

She looked surprised. “I wasn’t talking shit. I simply said I needed a demonstration of the difference between fucking and making love.”

“That’s right. You claimed not to know the difference.”

“And you promised to show me.”

“I never make a promise I can’t keep. Turn that ass over and get on your knees. Since I didn’t get to finish my dinner, I think I’ll start with my favorite meal.”

Melodie quickly followed my orders, tooting her ass up in the air. I turned around and slid my head between her legs, lining my mouth up with her pussy. I palmed her ass and went to town.

“Oh shit!” She squealed upon my tongue’s contact.

I loved eating her pussy from this angle because she was at my mercy. I licked between her lips and sucked her clit until my face and beard were covered in her nectar.

“How you wanna get fucked, baby? From the back? The side? With your knees pushed up to your ears? Tell me what you want.”

Missionary was out of the question because her stomach had gotten too big, and I was afraid I’d crush my babies.

All she had for me in response was a moan as she rolled onto her back, so the decision was mine.

I pulled her ass to the edge of the bed and turned her onto her side.

After lifting her top leg onto my shoulder, I straddled her other leg before easing my dick into her.

“My God!” she murmured into the pillow as I pushed inside her.

“Damn! This pussy gotta be the wettest place on earth. Fuck, baby!”

I gripped one of her ass cheeks with one hand and used the other to play with her clit. My strokes were hard and alternated between fast and slow. When her pussy began to throb around my dick, I battled to hold on. It was in vain because it sucked every ounce of nut I had.

“That pussy don’t play fair, baby.”

“Neither does your dick,” she responded through heavy breathing. “You ready to tap out?”

I removed her leg from my shoulder as I pulled my semi-hard dick from my favorite place.

“Nah. I’m ready to make love.”

“This house is beautiful. It has a lot of potential,” Melodie said.

We took Shyne’s advice and looked at several older houses. Most of them needed a lot of work, and it would take more time than we wanted. Our goal was to be in the house before the babies came, so we didn’t have a lot of time for renovations.

“Are you sure you’re not just saying that because Raine lives two houses down?”

“That helps, but that’s not why I like this one. The upgrades are recent, and it looks like they put a lot of thought and money into them. It’s a ranch-style home, has five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and the basement is finished.”

“True, but the bedrooms are small, and the yard needs a lot of work. We also need to pull this carpet up and get hardwood floors.”

“The primary bedroom is perfect, but the other rooms could be bigger. I’m not sure if this is our forever house.”

“It doesn’t have to be, baby. We can buy another house if or when we outgrow this one, . . . if this is the one you want.”

She walked around the kitchen, rubbing the granite countertops as she looked around. When she made it to the patio doors, she wrapped her arms around herself and looked out the window.

“We’ll need to add a fence, but the yard is big enough for a shed and a playset.”

“I agree.”

“This feels like home, Breeze. I want this one. What about you?”

“I want what you want. Let’s go tell the realtor.”

An hour later, we were at Luxor, having a redo of date night, although it was mid-afternoon.We told the realtor our offer, and it was accepted almost immediately, so we were celebrating that as well.

After the server took our orders, Melodie began talking about the babies. We had an appointment in a few days to find out the gender, and she was excited about it.

“Do you want boys or girls?” she asked.

“I don’t have a preference. I’d be happy with either.”

“Yeah, me too. The idea of giving birth to and raising two babies at once is unreal. I still can’t believe we’re having twins.”

She looked down and put her hand on her stomach, which seemed to be getting bigger by the day.

I couldn’t resist snapping a picture of her.

She’d been beautiful since the day I met her, although back then I didn’t see her as anything more than Raine’s friend.

Pregnancy had given her a glow that lit up every room she entered.

“I love you.”

My declaration caused her to look up and smile. “I know you love me. You show me in every way possible. I love you too.”

“We should probably talk about the wedding.”

“Oh God. So much has happened since we got engaged.”

I squinted my eyes and looked at her suspiciously. “Have you changed your mind or something?”

“What? Changed my mind? Stop talking crazy.”

“I’m just checking.”

“I have changed what I want for our wedding, though.”

“How so?”

“I don’t think I want anything big. Our family, friends, and a select group of our favorite clients would be perfect. Hell, we can even go to the courthouse and just have a reception.”

I shook my head. “Nah, we ain’t going to no fuckin’ courthouse, but I’m cool with everything else. Do you think we can pull something together before the babies come?”

“My mother has been waiting for me to let her loose. She can have something planned for next weekend if that’s what I want. Let’s decide on a date, and when I call her, she’ll have something to work with.”

The server returned with our meals, and we resumed our conversation between bites of our food after she left.

“We have approximately four and a half months to make it happen.”

“That’s not much time. I’ll be as big as a house soon, and I don’t want to waddle down the aisle. Let’s wait until after the babies are born. I don’t want to feel rushed.”

“What happened to you being married before having children?”

“That’s still very important to me, but . . .”

She sighed and used her fork to move her food around on her plate.

“But what, baby?”

“It’s not that big a deal. As long as I know we’re getting married, I’m good.”

I could tell by her solemn expression that she was lying. However, I knew what I could do to make her feel better.

“We can go to the courthouse and make things official and plan the wedding for after the babies are born.”

“I thought the courthouse was out of the question.”

“It’s my last choice, but I’ll do it for you.”

She smiled widely before saying, “I will never doubt how much you love me. Thank you.”
