CHLOE - THREE YEARS LATER
I don’t think this morning could get any better.
A cup of tea by the pool. The sun high in the sky. Floating in the cool water. Only one thing could make this better.
“Morning, Sunshine.”
And there he is.
Flipping over, I see Dax pulling his shirt off and toeing out of his tennis shoes. In the full light of the midmorning sun, he looks as sexy as ever.
“Hey, husband.”
Stripping out of the rest of his clothes, he dives into the water, slicing through it then popping up right next to me.
“I missed you.” He drops a kiss on my shoulder.
“You didn’t have to go for a run,” I tell him. “You could have joined me for a morning dip.”
He wraps his arms around my bare waist and pulls me close as I link my legs together over his ass.
"You know how hot it’s going to get today,” he fires back. “And now I have all day to do nothing but lie in the pool with you. ”
“Oh, yeah? That’s all you want to do?”
I push my bare chest against his, loving the heat that flares through my body.
Dax kisses just below my ear. “I think a hike down to the beach might be nice too.”
“A hike? Really?”
This time, a kiss to my jaw. His hands roam down, squeezing my ass and pulling me into his hardening cock.
“Working up a sweat with you? Definitely.”
“I could think of a much more enjoyable way to work up a sweat besides that.”
“What’d you have in mind, wifey?”
I smile at him. There is nothing I love hearing more than Dax calling me wifey .
“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe something along the lines of working up a sweat in the bedroom.” I waggle my eyebrows.
Dax turns, resting my back against the wall of the infinity pool. Even from the cliff our private villa rests on, the sounds of the waves echo around us.
“You mean the two orgasms I gave you very early this morning weren’t enough to satisfy you?”
Cupping his cheeks, I steer his dark brown eyes to mine. “I will never be satisfied. I will always want more with you, Dax. Always.”
Dax seals his mouth over mine. I need his kiss as much as I need to breathe. Heat floods through my veins as I dig my fingers into his back. The cold metal of the chain he wears presses into my skin as his tongue slides along mine.
I welcome him in, sucking on his tongue. His hands roam down my sides, tweaking my already hard nipples. Everything about Dax turns me on.
He trails his lips down across my jaw. Nibbling and sucking on the tender skin below my ear .
“Will you accept the pool, Sunshine?”
I reach between us and squeeze his cock in response. “Yes. I need you, Dax.”
“God, I love you.” Dax pulls back and lines himself up before thrusting into me.
“Yes!” I shout.
Our kisses are slow and lazy as Dax moves in and out of me. In the warm water, it’s perfect. I dig my heels into his ass to urge him on the closer I get to release.
I’m greedy for my husband. I’ll never get over the feeling of him stretching me and filling me like this.
“I’m so close, Dax. Please.”
He speeds up without a word, moving his hand between the two of us to play with my clit like he knows I love.
“Are you going to come, Chloe? I’m close,” he growls.
Digging my nails into his back, I hold on as I tip over the edge into pure heaven.
“Gah!”
His moves falter, pick up, and in a few more thrusts, he’s coming inside me. If it weren’t for Dax holding me right now, I’d float away.
“Oh Dax.”
“So good, Sunshine.” He presses warm kisses up my neck. “You know, I really could get used to this.”
“Sex in the pool?” I ask.
“That. Skinny-dipping. You might have been onto something.”
“Well, if we get to take more trips like this after the season, I could get used to it too.”
Dax spins my lax body in the pool, trailing his fingers over my stomach. “Well, hopefully we can do it again next season.”
“Is that the only way we’ll get to come back? ”
“Technically this is a delayed honeymoon.”
Sitting up, I push my wet hair out of my face and stand on my tiptoes in front of Dax. “Delayed honeymoon or not, I say we make this a new tradition.”
He smiles down at me, cheeks pink. “After we win, or after every season?”
I drape my arms over his shoulders. “Every season. We can celebrate if you win, but it’ll be a good way to escape if you don’t.”
“Breaking away from the real world, if you will?” Dax waggles his eyebrows at me.
“The store can manage without me for a little while.”
“Good. The world’s best boss can take a few days off.”
“You’re biased,” I say.
“Not biased.” He pecks my nose. “You didn’t get that award for being one of the top workplaces in Nashville for no reason.”
The Knights’ playoff run was only one of the reasons we delayed our honeymoon after getting married over the All-Star break.
Things with Charms by Chloe have been going better than I ever imagined.
There were some hard months when we first started, trying to make a name for myself.
But when Genevieve—still my favorite pop star—posted about it on social media, things blew up and I’ve never looked back.
I’ve been able to hire more staff. Bring in up-and-coming designers to sell their work. Give them the helping hand that I never got.
“I couldn’t have done it without you.”
“Nah. You did it all on your own.”
“Did you think we’d ever get here?” I ask, playing with the wet strands of hair at the nape of his neck.
He shakes his head. “I hoped like hell we would, but I never thought we’d be right here. ”
“I didn’t either.”
“I mean, I’m not complaining.” He smiles at me. “It’s more than I ever could have asked for.”
I grin back at him.
“Ditto.”
