A urora

When I return to the safety of the barracks, Cadence hesitantly asks, “What was that about? That officer seems really interested in you. Do you know each other?”

I’m still trembling and trying to catch my breath. “No. He just wanted to let me know he’ll be at the auction.”

Cadence comes to the same conclusion as I do, breaking through my wicked thoughts. “That Voltan warrior must want to buy your contract,” she hisses.

She doesn’t say whether this is a good thing or not, but her face is pinched when she says it, so I conclude she’s worried for me.

I’m worried for myself too. I’ve never felt this way before.

I’m flushed, overwhelmed, and stimulated beyond the point of no return.

All I can think about is rubbing that secret place between my legs that has always been forbidden.

If I were alone, I know I would give in to the desire to earn just a modicum of relief from this exquisite tension building painfully within my core.

We aren’t given much time to discuss the matter though, as Lieutenant Crom tells us we need to start getting ready for the auction. As a group, we’re ushered toward the showers and made to bathe. When we exit the bathroom, a gaggle of women is waiting to assist us in our preparation this evening.

Shyly, I sit on the edge of my bed as my personal stylist chats with me about what I want to do with my hair and makeup. Since I have no clue about fashion or makeup in general, I give her permission to do whatever she thinks is best for me.

Cadence is finished before me and she looks absolutely radiant.

Her stunning blue eyes are rimmed with a dark liner that makes them stand out like a beacon on a starless night.

Her equally dark hair is done up in loose curls and falls down in cascading waves over her shoulders.

She’d been an obviously beautiful woman before being made up.

However, her stylist has managed to capture all of her best qualities and brought them front and center with her impressive abilities.

“Aurora, you look amazing!” Cadence exclaims as she comes to sit beside me on my bunk.

My cheeks color to a light pink at the compliment. “It’s Karrie’s work that deserves praise, not me,” I awkwardly dismiss her words, uncomfortable with the flattery.

Karrie, my stylist, shoots me an appreciative grin. “Thanks, but I had a great canvas to work with.”

We both agree that Cadence is stunning as well.

Cadence, most likely raised in a home where people had the freedom to compliment one another, smiles back in gratitude.

She doesn’t immediately get uncomfortable and dismiss the praise like I always do.

I hope that, if we are lucky enough to spend more time together, some of her grace and confidence will hopefully rub off on me.

Karrie is putting the finishing touches on my makeup when Crom re-enters the room and tells us we need to “move out” in five minutes. The auction is about to begin, and we must head down to the arena where we’ll be viewed by the Voltan.

With butterflies in my stomach, I smack my lips together as Karrie suggests. Handing me a mirror, I check out my final look. As I peer into the handheld glass, I’m stunned by what I see. Just like Cadence before me, my best features are on display tonight.

My wide, round, brown eyes look even rounder and wider, accented with shades of brown and purple that expertly shadow my lids.

My eyelashes are tinged an inky black, framed by a dark wing that makes the shape look almost cat-like.

My hair has been washed and styled so that my curls are glossy and flawlessly defined.

My lips, a bright cherry red, look obscenely sexual, full and lush for the sampling.

My stomach does a slow flip as I think about the officer from the mess hall seeing me this way. Hating myself for the thought, I hope he finds me as lovely as Cadence and Karrie have told me I am.

When Crom walks over to gather his charges all together, he spends a few extra moments assessing both Cadence and I who are sitting on the edge of my cot.

“What I wouldn’t give for a night with the both of you,” he boldly states before slowly devouring us with his sharp gaze.

Standing before us, I notice his tight pants tent out in the front and I quickly look away. A shiver of anticipation runs over me as we’re told to form a line by the door.

Before we exit the dorm, Cadence squeezes my hand and says, “Good luck tonight.”

Returning the nicety, I try to keep my chin up as we’re led down the main stairwell and toward our unavoidable futures.

Oren

I impatiently wait in my office for the auction to begin. I’ve read and reread the same document three times and I still don’t know what the hell it says.

All I can think about is her. Aurora. My future mate. And all the fucking depraved things I’m going to do to her as soon as the ink on her contract dries.

Since my squad mate Knox isn’t on base at the moment, I won’t be able to slide into her wet heat any time soon.

At least not the virgin hole between her legs.

Until Knox gets back, that pleasure must wait.

However, I can think of a thousand other ways I can pleasure her body, and my own, until he returns.

The phone rings then, interrupting my wicked thoughts. After activating the telecom, Knox’s impressive form fills the screen. Even amongst the Voltan, he’s an intimidating man, both in size and demeanor.

“What’s so fucking important you had to pull me out of the field to discuss it?” My grumpy squad mate demands.

The man is built like a brick house. Just shy of seven feet tall, he’s a monster made of steely muscle and lethal animal grace.

His blond hair is shaved right to the scalp, but there’s scruff on his cheeks that tells me he’s been up for days.

Despite the scowl that’s nearly always gracing his severe countenance, I’m not afraid of him.

We’ve been squad mates for ten years now, and we’re closer than brothers, despite how menacing he might appear to others.

“I’ve found her,” I say when I sense his patience is running shorter than usual.

Knox’s eyes narrow. “Found who?”

“Our mate,” I reply, leaning back in my chair with a smug expression on my face.

Knox quietly contemplates my statement before getting closer to the screen like he’s forgotten we’re communicating over the monitor and not actually in person. “How do you know?”

“Her scent,” I explain, remembering it so vividly because it still clings seductively in my nostrils even hours after we’ve parted. “It’s the headiest combination I’ve ever encountered.”

“Was there anything else that told you she was our mate?” Knox presses, needing absolute proof of my discovery.

“Besides her smell and the fact that my dick got so hard I had to stroke myself to completion the moment I got back to my office?” I ask rhetorically.

Scoffing, Knox folds his arms across his barrel-like chest. “It’s not the first time you’ve done that after encountering a comely human female, Oren.”

He is not wrong. Since spending time on earth, I’ve been constantly aroused and in need of relief. “It’s never been like this before,” I argue. “The experience was visceral. On another level. I jacked off three times in a row, and I’m still hard as a pike!”

Knox looked unimpressed. “Have you had a look at her blood work yet?”

Of course I had. As soon as I’d blown my load twice over, I’d called my secretary and told him I needed Aurora’s file sent over ASAP. Then I spent the next hour researching the girl and her background.

Hailing from District Six, Aurora was eighteen, overly sheltered, and a virgin.

Usually, that last part was more of a detractor than an incentive for me.

The Voltan have much larger cocks than human males, so virgins are mostly a nuisance to us.

However, the idea of breaking in Aurora, stretching her tight little pussy hole wide with my fat dick, sends chills down my spine and makes me need to reach back into my pants for a third time.

Taking a deep breath, I tell him what I’ve found. “She tested positive for the Lincoln Gene.”

The Lincoln Gene belongs to the rarest humans on earth. These individuals are closer to the Voltan than any other. They’re the only ones who can successfully breed with the Voltan and have viable offspring.

Unfortunately for us, those humans that possess the gene make up less than ten percent of Earth’s population and are therefore highly sought after.

Because of this, Aurora’s contract price will be astronomical.

We wouldn’t be the only pod that would be vying for her, either.

In fact, I’d be surprised if half the room wouldn’t be willing to empty their savings accounts just to get a chance to possess her temporarily. I know I would. I will.

Knox’s eyes light up at this important point. “You’re sure she’s a match?”

I raise my brow. “Would I say it was so if she wasn’t?”

Nodding resolutely, Knox looks directly at me and says, “Bid as high as it takes. I want her.”

Per usual, where important matters are concerned, my squad mate and I are in total agreement. “You know I will.”
