Sebastien,
I guess this is where we are, reviving the lost art of letter writing.
I’m not sure where to begin. I read your letter, of course I did, and while I find it suitably flattering that you are so interested in pursuing something between us, I am not sure it’s the right decision.
I had a really good time the other night on our date and will admit that I am intrigued by you and want to know more.
I also know where I am in life and—where you are— and there isn’t a lot of overlap in our lives.
We are in completely different places, with different dreams and experiences.
Your family is the reason we are all trapped here, and the reason why people are dying everyday.
Even if I decided to follow through with something with you, what happens next?
How would we make it work? I know I am getting a little ahead of myself since this thing between us is still relatively new but you and I both are too old to not think of the future.
That said, I had fun, and you're more than I thought you were. I thought you were a spoiled little vampire prince. Instead, you’re smart and intuitive.
A little flashy for my taste, but that’s who you are.
A trip to the City of the Dead was a perfect first date and I wouldn’t have even considered it as a possibility until now.
So, thank you for really seeing me. For knowing what I would like and need, even after such a short time together.
For realizing that an expensive or over the top date wasn’t going to get you anywhere.
And thank you for bringing Lessa to meet me, although I’m still irritated that you didn’t introduce her immediately.
I guess what I’m saying is my time with you meant something to me. I’m just not sure how to continue it. But if that were really true, I wouldn’t be writing this letter.
