Could We Have Some Blood? A Correspondence
Quick Question

Hey Mr. S. –
Hope everybody’s doing okay there. We’re doing good.
Bran’s got some of the students playing magic team sports, if you can believe it.
He says you proved you don’t have to have a perfect coven to get some basic things done, just other magical humans.
So it’s more connection practice than sports.
But it’s kinda weird watching a basketball game where everyone’s just standing still and only the ball’s moving.
Anyway, I did need to ask you something. Could we have some blood?

Hi Minky-
Everyone’s doing well here. You’ve probably heard that Theo’s on standby for security now and has taken on the role of handyman and mechanical engineer for the island. He’s happier than I’ve ever seen him, though Limpet probably has a lot to do with that.
Are you all coming for Thanksgiving? I couldn’t get a straight answer out of Will when I last spoke to him. Possible family obligations, I take it, and he didn’t want to tell me no outright. We should have quite the crowd, and I know Finn would love to see you.
Now to your question: Fae blood? My blood? I’m afraid you’re going to have to unpack that a bit for me before I can answer.

Oops. Sorry about that. I thought we talked about this.
Maybe I just rehearsed it in my head. So, you remember how I was talking to Nate about magic users before the Veil reopened?
That most people were cut off, but not everybody.
I mean, Tia Carmen still had magic and was even pretty powerful from what you said.
And you had it, from the stories you told about when you were a little kid, but you suppressed it.
And some of those people you met in prison, like the healer, he must’ve had some magic still to be helping people all those years.
So, we want to look at kelan structures for new magic users vs.
old. (Old being people who had magic before.
Not that I’m calling you old.) We have enough new magic volunteers here, but we need confirmed previous magic users.
Your blood, Tia Carmen’s if she’s visiting, and anyone else you could think of who might not mind.
Of course we’re coming to Thanksgiving. Will just had to get the courage to tell his dad he wasn’t coming home for the family thing.
He did it, though. Kara says it’s cool to see him stand up to his asshole dad.
It is, but it’s hard on him. Anyway, yeah.
We’ll be there. Jasper wants to bake stuff, so leave dessert to us.
Good to hear Theo’s doing better ?

Hooray for Thanksgiving! I look forward to seeing all of you.
Of course you may have some of my blood for research purposes, and I’m sure Tia Carmen, who will also be here for Thanksgiving, will agree as well.
As for Saeed, he’s staying with a host coven in Chicago.
I’ll have Carol send them a note to ask if he might be willing.
Asif’s father obviously had some ability before the reopening too, but sadly he’s passed away.
You may have better luck asking Tia Carmen.
I’m willing to bet all my left shoes that she’s known other brujas over the years.
We’ll talk more when you get here and I look forward to seeing the results of your research.
