Page 11 of Better Run
A gush of wetness floods my core.
“Now, now, don’t devour my prize just yet, Cole,” A bored voice sounds above us. Fingers dig into my jaw, forcing it to shut. I look up and see him standing there, arms crossed.
“Swallow, little one,” The blond man, Cole, says. I debate spitting, but he digs his fingers in harder. I whimper and swallow. Cole stands up. “Whatever you say, Jay.”
The loss of body heat hits me, and I shiver. My gaze darts around.
“No, no, enough running.” Jayden lifts me up by my arm and throws me over his shoulder. “Cole will be balls deep in you before you can get another twenty feet.”
“She wouldn’t complain.”
I gasp. My feet scream in pain. I’m trying to wrap my mind around what just happened.
“You got her to shut up. I’m going to have to get you to chase her down more often.” Jayden rumbles a laugh as he walks with me.
Cole growls, “Let me fuck her next time. The speechless factor is much more potent.”
Jayden smacks my ass, and I cry out as the old bruise flares. “What did I tell you, kitten? Run and you will be punished. I’m going to let Cole help.”
I shiver, the cold seeping along my skin. But I don’t fight to get away. My brain is in a haze, and I taste spearmint from Cole’s mouth.
We make it back to the house.
“She’s bleeding, Jay.”
Am I? I try to right myself, and it earns me another smack on the ass.
He places me down on the couch. “Sit still.” Jayden grabs my right foot. I look to see that it’s dripping blood, a nasty gash by my toes. The pain hits me in a wave, and I close my eyes.
I open my eyes to see Cole also crouched on the floor next to me. It strikes me how handsome he is as well. His jawline is sharp, and his eyes are bright. His eyes twinkle. “So you’re good with spit, but blood is a no-go?”
I feel like I got hit by a freight train. My chest hurts, and I can’t feel my fingers. I try to flip him the bird. It takes effort.
He laughs.
“It might need stitches.”
I jerk my upper body forward. “No. Fuck no.” No needles. I try to pull my foot to me, but Jayden pins my shin against the couch.
“Cole, grab the first aid kit.”
Cole gives a mock salute and moves to another area of the cabin.
I tremble. Jayden must feel it because he looks up at me. For a brief second, his eyes are unfiltered, and I think I see…concern? Then they shutter down again, and it’s like it was never there. Maybe it wasn’t.
Cole returns with a military-style duffle bag and rips it open. Gauze and tape and bottles are inside, along with a bunch of other things. This isn’t an ordinary plastic red kit.
“Who are you guys?” I look between them.
“I’m your wet dream.” Cole winks at me. Jayden huffs. Cole sees me eyeing the medical-grade equipment.
“What, Jay didn’t tell you he commandeered the good shit when he was a cop?”
I freeze. My entire body locks up.
Jayden shoots Cole a dark look. “Sharing is over. Give me the peroxide.”
Cole raises his eyebrows, looking surprised.
