I woke when Jagger wrapped his arms around me, pressing his mouth to my shoulder, right over the mark he’d given me.

Boo chattered from his spot, hanging off the wall light across the room, saying his hello, then promptly went back to sleep.

“He doesn’t want to see me right now.” There was another wash of pain. “He told me to leave. Zuri’s with him.”

I blinked up at him. “Really?”

His eyes and his mouth softened. “She has this way with him.” He swallowed thickly.

“His sister talked to him and he calmed. She’s powerful, baby.

I can feel it. Fuck knows what Lucifer has planned for her, but it has to be something big if he kept her hidden, if Beelzebub took her from him.

She’s the key to something, I just don’t know what. ”

“We’ll figure it out,” I said and pressed a kiss to his jaw. “And until we do, we’ll show her what life can be like out of Hell. You have an eternity to get to know her.”
