“Oh my god get up dumbass. Myra doesn’t want your stupid piece of twine. Pretty sure bringing you pastries isn’t grounds for a proposal.” Chase chastises me.

“I disagree, but we have pastries to eat and shit to unload. Can I at least get your number, since you didn’t say yes to marriage that is?” I grouse as I stand up, disappointed that Myradidn’t take my twine more than I would like to admit. As I dust the dirt off my knee, Myra grins at me and I feel slightly less disappointed almost immediately. Oh, the power this woman already has over me and she doesn’t even know.

“Nope, no, definitely not.” She smiles while shaking her head. Damn it, she wouldn’t accept my twine and now she won’t give me her number. It’s almost like she’s not interested in me, and I know that can’t be true, she was looking at my junk too long for that to be the case.

Pretty smile, pretty mate.My animal rumbles and for once I can’t even argue with him. Our mate is positively breathtaking to look upon when she smiles. I must be gawking because the next thing I know I’m being bumped in the shoulder by Chase.

“Come on man, let's eat these sacred pastries and get busy unloading. Here, Myra even got us coffee to help wash down these holy pastries.” Chase teases as he hands me a coffee from the drink holder. Taking a sip, I hum in approval of the taste.

“You like that?” Myra asks with a baiting grin.

“Why did you poison it?” I tease back.

“Of course not! It’s just that Alia told me you and Chase were lumberjacks. When I went into Grandough’s they had all these cute named coffee drinks. I thought it would be cute if I got her and Chase the lumberjack latte. Then I remembered that you were helping this morning too and grabbed one for you too. Because you know lumberjack.” Myra replies with a shrug as she shoves a whole mini donut into her mouth before turning to walk over to Alia and talk.

“I know what she is.” Chase whispers right next to my ear and I nearly jump out of my skin.

“Jesus fuck! Don’t sneak up on me like that. What the hell are you talking about?” I reply, turning to give him a dirty look. Oh,I’m pretty sure I know exactly what he’s getting at, but I’m not giving him anymore than I have to.

“I know what she is.” He says again with a creepy ass whisper, while looking over to make sure Alia doesn’t hear him.

“What the fuck do you know?” Loud enough that both women turn, each giving us dirty looks.

“Keep it down.” Chase whisper screams to me, before giving Alia a wave and a smile. “If Alia finds out that Myra is your mate. She will skin you alive and use your pelt as a rug in the living room in front of the fireplace.” I scoff, because my brother can hear a fucking lie just like I can.

“You would really let her skin your own brother alive and use his pelt for a rug in our home? What kind of brother does that? What kind of Alpha does that to one of his crew? Worst brother of the year award goes to you! Worst Alpha of the year award goes to you too!” I whisper scream back at him.

“Do you see that woman?” He asks me, pointing at Alia. “That woman could tell me to burn the whole world to the ground, and I would do it. I wouldn't even ask why. See we think when we are young and dumb and full of cum that we hold all the control when it comes to our beasts. The truth is they hold more power over our beasts than we ever will. Now that you’ve found your mate you understand exactly what I’m saying. Tell me I’m wrong.” Chase says smugly, like he fucking knows every fucking thing. He does, but he doesn’t need his ego stroked by me telling him that. So instead, I flip him off and saunter off toward the girls, he can feel smug all on his own without my help.

“You know I’m right.” He yells from behind me, but I keep walking away.

“What are you right about?” Alia asks as I make my way to here and Myra.

“Oh, that I’m the better-looking brother and that he’s a complete asshole and you could do better than him with prettymuch anyone else in town. But I told him thankfully you adore him and are willing to take the second-best brother. And he is completely, one hundred percent right.” Myra is giggling, Chase is growling at my back, and Alia is covering her mouth trying to cover her own laughter.

“Let’s get this truck unloaded before I skin my brother alive and use his hide as a rug in front of the fireplace.” Chase growls out as he grabs two mini donuts and shoves them into his maw before stomping off towards the moving truck.

“Do you see what I have to deal with? These two are like toddlers’ day in and day out. Evren and I play referee all day long.” Alia complains to Myra and for some reason I suddenly feel guilty for causing so much strife in our home.

It’s not my fault really, my tiger is an asshole on a good day, but lately he’s been pushing the limits with Chase’s tiger more and more. Like he’s trying to see how far he can push Chase’s tiger before he snaps. We both know what is causing the issue, but Chase refuses to talk about it. The fact is my tiger is getting more and more dominant. He’s trying to demand more territory and sees Chase’s tiger as competition. It’s time for me to find my own territory, but Chase refuses to even think about the possibility. He wants to keep us all together and safe, but with two dominant males in one house it can’t last forever.

“I think you said ‘I find you both hilarious and entertaining’ wrong. We are nothing if not entertaining when we argue, just admit it.” I tease Alia, even though she’s pretty accurate when it comes to the description of us while we are bickering.

“Dax lives with you and Chase? Like in the same house?” Myra asks with laughter, lacing her voice. Oh, I knew what she was thinking. Lazy little brother, mooching off his big brother and his fiancé, going nowhere in life. This was exactly why I needed my own territory and my own place. I needed to nip whatever ideas were in her head quickly.

“Only until I find my own place.” I say quickly. “I have money saved up for a down payment, but I haven’t been able to find anything yet.” It wasn’t the complete truth. I did have money saved up for a down payment, but I had yet to look for a place. Chase would have a coronary if I even suggested looking for my own place.

“He can buy a trailer and put it on our land if he wants.” Chase declares as he starts to open the moving truck. Before I can respond Myra hands her coffee off to Alia and is jogging towards the truck.

“Wait, don’t touch anything. I have everything precisely in there and one wrong move and you’ll have everything tumbling down on top of you.” Myra skids to a stop in front of Chase and pushes him back before he can get in the truck. Chase looks back at us looking dumbstruck. Typically, people do not push Chase around, and yet here was little Myra pushing him around. Alia starts to chuckle beside me shaking her head.

“I told you she had everything organized. Listen to her and we will have the truck unloaded and the office set up on the same day. She is a miracle worker when it comes to organization.” Alia assures us. Chase nods his acceptance and waits for his instructions. I jog over to receive my own instructions because there’s no way my brother is getting all my mate’s attention.

Chapter Six

Myra

Do not stare at the hot man unloading the truck. Do not stare at the hot man unloading the truck. DO NOT STARE AT THE HOT MAN UNLOADING THE TRUCK! Why can’t I not stop staring at Dax unloading the truck? It’s like I’m dickmatized. Is that a thing? Dickmatized? I haven’t even had his dick so how could he dickmatize me without me sampling said dick.
