Walker

I was still helping out at the resort, but Fennec was helping me out.

We were participating in or leading all the activities, and I couldn’t remember when I’d had a better time.

Fennec had a couple of days left, and although we were together all day and into the evening, nothing had progressed beyond that.

We hadn’t even kissed again, and I was afraid to press the matter for fear of scaring him away again.

Patience…never had been more difficult. I’d have sworn I had a ton of it, but I’d never wanted anything more than my mate to accept me, my stores of patience were dissipating fast.

“Are you sure you don’t want to go for a run?” I asked after we walked for a while. “It’s a nice cool evening, good for us fur-bearers.”

“No thanks.” He looked at me as though I were something to eat. Much appreciated. “I would rather do something else. Maybe go for a swim in the lake?”

“You are definitely speaking my language. Just let me get my trunks.”

“Do you really need them?” he asked. “I found a secluded beach while you were busy and we could just swim without having to go change.”

“I don’t know.” I wanted to swim naked with him, but if it was just about swimming, my body was sure to give away my interest in much more. “Maybe we shouldn’t take a chance.”

“It does feel a little naughty.” He came close to me and rose on tiptoe to speak close to my ear. “Should we, then?”

My pulse pounded so hard in my ears, I could barely make out his words.

We’d been virtually platonic for days, while I practiced patience, getting to know one another but not getting physical or discussing being mates.

“Omega, I can’t promise to keep things PG if we’re swimming together without suits. ”

“Good.” He turned and sashayed down the path. “Because I’ve been waiting for you to make a move, alpha. You’ve shown me such consideration. I was afraid that when you learned about my problem, you wouldn’t want me.”

“That’s not the case. I have wanted you since the moment I saw you lying on that beach looking like the most masculine Sleeping Beauty ever.”

“Are we swimming, then?”

“Let’s go.”

The lake in the moonlight was the most romantic thing I’d ever seen. Until my omega undressed and stood in front of me, his skin glowing in the pale light. I took my clothes off, too. “Omega…”

He lifted his arms, and I pulled him to me. “Alpha, I’m sorry I made you wait. We’re almost out of time.”

“Out of time here, Fennec. But we have a lifetime in front of us. We just have to decide where to live it and what to do with it.” This kiss was deeper and more passionate even than the first, and when it was over, I made a bed out of our discarded clothes and guided him down onto it.

“A lifetime sounds awfully good. Do you really want me forever?”

“You’re my mate. Don’t you feel it?”

“Yes, but I wasn’t sure…I’m…my fox can’t come out. I haven’t shifted in a while.”

“ Omega, I love you whoever you are.”

“But…”

“Do you mind if I mate and mark you before we swim?”

“I guess that will be all right,” he sighed, reaching for me again. “But I did have my heart set on getting into the lake tonight.”

Chuckling, I took his lips again, savoring the faint smokiness that was his scent.

I reached down and lifted one of his legs, settling between them.

“We’ll do that, I promise.” I could make love to him there the second time.

My fingers found his hole, slick and tight. Ready for me. “But I can’t wait, now.”

“Good,” he sighed. “Because neither can I.”

I kissed his face, his nose, eyes, and ears before wrapping my hand around his shaft and stroking. My other hand guided my cock into his slippery hole. “Omega, you made me wait, but you’re so worth it.”

Driving deep inside, I struggled to keep my rhythm on his cock as well, desperately wanting him to come with me.

But he was so tight, I doubted my ability to control myself.

I’d waited my whole life for a fated mate, mostly thinking I’d never have one.

Then when I met mine, he didn’t seem to know me or what we were.

How we’d gotten from there to here in less than a week was a thing of miracles.

But it was one pleasurable one. As we moved together, his scent grew stronger, less like smoke and more like flames.

Hot, spicy, sexy, overwhelming. Just when I thought I wouldn’t be able to hold on to wait for him, he let out a deep groan and spurted all over my belly and his.

I released him, using both hands to support myself over him as my legs grew weak.

And then my balls tightened and ripples of pleasure rolled up and down my arms and legs before I emptied myself into his willing body.

My mate, my omega, and my love. Knot swelling, I bent to kiss him, then trailed my lips down to his throat and bared my fangs.

Finding the spot where his pulse fluttered, I pierced the skin and my mouth filled with blood.

For a moment, I feared I’d torn something, but then the coppery flow slowed to a trickle and stopped.

I lapped at the wound to seal it and lay over my mate, inhaling his scents of fire and cum and blood.

He was mine now, and anyone who saw him would know that.

Rolling to the side, I brought him with me and held him close, my knot binding us together. He’d found a secluded place for us to swim, but we’d used it for something more sacred.

“Are we going to swim?” he mumbled.

“Soon, omega,” I soothed, stroking his hair. “Let’s rest for a few minutes.”

I’d thought he’d want to get in the water as soon as we finished, but instead, we fell asleep and didn’t wake until the sky was brightening with pinks and oranges to the east. We might not have had a moonlight swim, but we would be having a dawn one.

“Come on, omega. Let’s celebrate with that swim you wanted.” I kissed him then helped him up. “It’s a beautiful new day.”

The first in our new life together. I didn’t know what that might mean, but we’d figure it out.

“Are you going to make love to me in the lake?” he asked.

“If you are willing, omega.”

He was.
