CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

APOLLO

A pollo scanned his computer, reviewing the recorded deeds of all the estates in a five-mile radius. They all appeared legitimate. But looks could be deceiving.

Regan knocked on his door. "Highness?"

Apollo shook his head. "Regan, good. Go through this entire list and see how many have been sold and or renovated in the last ten years. Are any vacant or rented out? Find every owner and do a thorough background check on them."

Regan nodded and headed out as Apollo's phone rang. The words, 'Selfish Bastard', flashed on the screen. He should probably rename the title now that he and Ares were getting along. He wondered if Ares had changed his name from 'Pompous Asshole' on his phone yet.

"Have you found her?"

"No. But, I've made progress."

"Where are you?"

"New York."

"Where are you headed?"

"Home."

The news didn't surprise him. "You think Titan is here?"

"Yeah."

"Me too."

"Where are you?"

"At home. I've been looking over the video footage, as well as the lack of footage."

"Meaning?"

"Meaning Vanessa cut the feed to a back section of the fence when you let her in to get her things. We followed the tunnel Titan used, and it led straight to the area. And when we went back and checked, the fence had been cut and there were tire tracks on the dirt road."

"Leading out of the area?"

"No. Leading further in."

Silence deadened the line. "He took her somewhere nearby."

"I'm looking at all the houses in the area. When I have a list of sales in the last ten years, I can narrow it down, and we will search each of them."

"I'll be back in two hours. Let's regroup. I have the address where Titan's drug shipments are sent."

"I'm getting everyone ready to start the search."

"Sounds good." Ares paused for a moment. "How are you healing?"

"I'm fine."

"How's Cherry?"

"Fiery as always."

"Good. We're gonna need her fire. I have a feeling we are in for a bigger fight than we realized."

"Agreed."

"Check in with all the Alphas who came for the mating ceremony. Feel them out."

"Already started. Did something happen? Are you thinking some may have traded loyalties?"

"I know some have. We just need to see how many. I'll call when I land."

"Ares?"

"Yeah?"

Apollo didn't know what to say.

"Don't go all mushy on me now, brother, or I’ll kick your ass when I return, whether you're injured or not."

Apollo chuckled. "Fair enough."

Apollo laid down his phone.

His wolf whined.

Don't worry, boy, we're close. Very close.
