Page 86 of Almost A Scoundrel
“What am I holding on for?” she asked, her voice soft and full of sin.
Deerhurst inserted another finger into her, chuckling when she gasped. “This.”
“Scoundrel.”
“Just for you.”
She writhed against him when he ran his fingers along the silky folds of her core, his gaze drinking up every one of her nuances as he prepared her for what came next.
She sucked in a breath, the grip on his back digging into his skin. He loved that little sound. Loved her hands on him.
“So beautiful.”
He brushed his mouth up the column of her neck to nip at her earlobe as he focused his attention on enticing more whimpers from her with his strokes. He wanted her ready. Wanted her to shout out his name in ecstasy. Wanted to claim every beat of her heart tonight.
She arched into the palm of his hand, urging with her body, demanding more.
Deerhurst would give her more.
He’d give her everything.
“Phaedra...”
Her lashes fluttered and she gazed at him with such acceptance, such wonder, it was all he could do not to plunge into her like the wild creature she made him feel like.
No regrets.
No regrets.
Deerhurst had done many things in his life that he regretted. Handled many situations not as well as he could have. But not her. Not this moment. This he would never regret. And for a thousand reasons, he didn’t want her to regret this either.
“No regrets,” he whispered, almost pleading as he placed soft kisses over her cheeks.
She grabbed his face between her hands and narrowed her eyes. “Marcus... the only regret will be you not taking me this very second.”
He laughed, then gave her a scorching kiss. “Then I shall take you this very second.”
“Are you going to do it with your breeches on your knees?”
“No love, this was just the warm-up.” He grinned and quickly made short work of any remaining cloth still separating their skin from each other.
Christ, she was soft.
“What if someone comes in,” she whispered.
Not this time of night. “No one would dare,” Deerhurst reassured as he settled between her legs, spreading them wide, his erection nudging at her entrance.
“Love...”
She wrapped her legs around his waist in answer to his unspoken question. Deerhurst nearly came undone then and there.
“I’ve never wanted a woman as much as I want you.”
“Then don’t let me wait any longer.”
Ever impatient.
He didn’t mind at all.
