As much as I adore a dramatic exit, an exciting entrance is even more fabulous.
I appeared in a ray of moonlight, arms out and skin softly shining, in the middle of my arguing men. They went silent, gaping at me, then just stood there.
I dropped my arms with a huff. “Well? Aren't you going to say something? Look at me! Am I not wondrous to behold? Hello? Lost goddess found! Don't you just want to adore me?” I turned in a circle. “I'm gorgeous and a fucking badass!”
“Salina?” Jake whispered.
“What happened to you?” Lex added.
“We've been out of our minds with worry over you!” Cyrus growled. “Where have you been? The security cameras showed you getting taken by Ace. Ace, who is obviously not human!”
Jake narrowed his eyes at me. “And then you just pop in like this? What the fuck, woman?! And what happened to your face?”
“Oh, no, you did not just woman me!” I pointed at him. “Didn't you hear me say that I'm a goddess? A. God. ESS! It's Selene, not Salina. I'm the lost Moon Goddess.”
Lex blinked. “Isn't that Artemis?”
“Is Artemis lost?!” I stomped my feet and moonlight burst up from my soles.
It was not dramatic or satisfying. I suddenly felt a kinship with Hades.
“That little prude is only associated with the Moon. I. Am. The. Moon!” I held out my arms again, and the Moon flowed through me, not only shining upon them but also slamming them backward and sending them stumbling.
Now, that was satisfying. I smirked. “That's better.
Now, yes, I made a teensy mistake with Ace, but it was all part of my destiny.
That mistake took me to Olympus where I discovered who I really am.
And who Silas is. He's Ace, by the way. And Ace is Apollo's son.”
“What the fuck?” Lex whispered.
“We have to tell Hades,” Jake said.
I waved this away. “Hades already knows. He's over it. It's all finished now. We worked things out.”
“You worked . . .” Cyrus gaped at me, and then shouted, “What the fuck is happening?!”
“You really sound like your father.” I cocked my head at him. “You look like him too when you make that face.”
“Who are you, Salina?” Lex took my hand and stared at it.
I dimmed my glow until it winked out. “I told you, baby. I'm Selene, Goddess of the Moon. Apollo, who I knew as Helios, is my twin brother.”
“He's your . . .”
“Holy fuck,” Jake whispered.
“Wait.” Lex scowled.
“Here it comes,” I muttered. “Go on, hot stuff, figure it out for them.”
“Ace is your nephew?”
“Ding, ding, ding!” I pointed at him. “It's a long kinda cringy story, my loves. So, can we talk about it later?” I pushed my thick, long, midnight hair over my shoulder and struck a sexy pose.
“It's been a long time since I've been in my true body and even longer since this body has been properly worshiped. Who wants to get on their knees first?” I lifted a brow. “Hmm?”
The men looked at each other.
They looked at me.
Lex darted forward.
Jake barreled him aside.
Cyrus leapt over the other two.
I was still laughing as Cy carried me upstairs.
