“And Mr. Nikolaev-” I started.
“Alexei,” he cut me off. “Call me Alexei,” he demanded. “After all, we’re going to a sex club as a couple.”
Fucking lunatic.
“Stop following me,” I seethed, then rushed out of there before losing my cool and doing something that could cost me my job.
Or worse, my life.
ChapterFifteen
ALEXEI
The door shut forcefully after Agent Ashford stormed out and silence lingered. I had no intention of breaking it. I sensed Vasili was agitated, though I was unsure whether it was with me or the woman that just told us both off.
Well, fuck him.
“Are you purposely trying to piss her off, Alexei?” Vasili finally broke the silence.
I shrugged my one shoulder. It must have been a form of self-destruction, but I loved seeing the fire flare up in the girl’s gaze when riled up. It was a special brand of adrenaline I didn’t know existed until I met her.
Vasili’s deep sigh followed the silence.
“I trust you know what you are doing,” Vasili finally said.Maybe. “You are not as impulsive as Sasha.” Unlike any other time, I had no goddamn clue what I was doing when it came to the agent. Around her, I kept tripping up. When she was in my vicinity, she was all I could focus on. She was my walking temptation.
That petite, curvy body of hers. Her scent. Her dark chocolate eyes. Her thick, dark mane.
Vasili watched me, waiting for me to comment.
“Jesus fucking Christ,” he muttered, rubbing his jaw and amusement in his expression. “You have a hard-on for her.” Tension rolled through me because I knew what was coming next. “Maybe you should seriously consider either Sasha or I taking the agent to the club?”
“Brothers or no, I’d kill you both.” The threat escaped me, calm and deadly. The thought of Vasili or Sasha in the club with Aurora, their hands on her made me want to go on a murder spree. The pulse in my temple throbbed. It fucking throbbed and rage slithered through my veins.
Fucking great. In the few days since meeting her, I tripped multiple times. Like she was my personal ticking time bomb. My eldest brother watched me, then let out an amused breath.
“This should be fucking fun to watch,” he muttered.
“Then watch,” I said. “But don’t you fucking dare touch her. Ever. Even if she points a gun to my head. You. Do. Not. Touch. Her.”
His eyebrow shot up in surprise. Yeah, it was a surprise, but I owed her that much. Before Agent Ashford, I never threatened my brother, and I’d never put anyone before my family. But she was different. I owed her.
“You anticipate ending up in Russia with her?” Vasili steered the topic away from the young woman. It was probably safer for all of us.
“Da.”Yes.Russia was Ivan’s territory and where he felt the safest. “If things go according to plan at the club and Igor takes the bait…” I had no doubt he would. He never liked being second best - not in a fight, not in bed. And he was always second. “You and Sasha can track my movements. Be in Russia, as close as possible. I don’t want to see a scratch on her.”
We both knew whoherwas.
Vasili shook his head. “I don’t like sending you back to him.”
I didn’t fucking like it either, especially not with Agent Ashford. But it was our best chance.
“You and Sasha just be there.”
“Bella will have my balls if something happens to you,” Vasili grumbled and the picture of my petite sister having that effect on Vasili, who was built as big as I, was comical at best.
“Don’t tell her until it’s over.”
Without another word, Vasili moved toward the door, then stopped. “Another threatening message came in.”
