Bri stepped forward and attempted to reach into his pocket, but he grabbed her wrists again, holding her back. “What’s so important that you brought it to our friend’s wedding?”

“It’s nothing that can’t wait until tomorrow.” Drew put on a casual, easy smile—and she could see right through it.

She knew him well enough to know there was something he wasn’t telling her. But he was right. They were here to celebrate Rosalie’s wedding. She could squeeze whatever it was that he wasn’t saying out of him later.

“Wanna dance?” He extended his hand to her.

“Before we eat?” she asked.

“It’ll help work up our appetite.” Drew smirked.

Bri placed her hand in his, and he led them to the dance floor. It was a fast song that they both knew. Soon enough, Drew was back to his normal self, dancing like the total goof he was—if you could even call what he was doingdancing. He moved with no rhythm, waving his arms around and wiggling his hips without a care in the world for what anyone else thought.

And that right there was the best friend she knew and loved. Drew was a total goofball, but he was also the sweetest and smartest person she knew. He had been her friend for her whole life.

But even while she moved to the beat, she worried for him. There was something he was hiding from her. Theyneverhid things from each other. The papers hidden in his coat pocket and his tense reaction to having read them left her feeling uneasy.

Bri could only hope that it wasn’t something that would change their friendship, because she didn’t know what she would do if she lost her best friend.
